19 Chapter 19

I looked around the school hoping to find a vending machine, to no avail. I finally gave up, I'll just hold my stomach till I get back to the house, I'll just chill outside and get some air till my next class. I headed to the courtyard and found a beautiful fountain surrounded by grass with a few benches around the fountain and trees growing all around. It was beautiful, looked like something out of a movie, I lay down on the grass under the shade of a tree and close my eyes.

I feel a subtle breeze blowing across the field and my long hair gently flowing across my face, I feel so calm and peaceful, something I haven't felt in a while. My mind begins to wonder off into my distant memories of the past, I remember my family, my mother and fathers smiling face, my brothers laughter, all our happy memories together. Now as I look back on those happy memories, all I can think about is the agony of losing my parents and the pain my brother is enduring struggling to survive.

As my thoughts spin out of control, I feel warm tears drip down from my eyes fall of a sudden I feel someone wipe one of my tears away. My eyes spring open and I find Ren sitting next to me in the grass, "you ok?"

"oh, uh ya, I'm ok. What are you doing out here?" I asked as I sat up and wiped away my tears.

"I was worried about you, you left and didn't eat anything. Plus I'm sure it can be pretty hard to go to a new school especially in the middle of the middle of the year. So I brought you something." He handed me over a small bag, "What is this?"

"lets call it a gift to welcome you to the new school, and I'm not taking no for an answer so enjoy it." he sprung up the grass and jolted off.

What was that about? He seems like a nice guy but a bit quirky. I open the bag to find all kinds of snacks in it, and I little note that says "Since you wont accept the cafeteria food from me cause its too expensive, I hope you'll accept these. Btw, there isn't anywhere else on campus that you can buy food. Enjoy! ;)"

I hope he isn't flirting with me, he is Layla's boyfreind, I think? Maybe I'll ask her when we go back to the house. I reach into the bag and pull out something at random to find a meat bun, yum this looks good. I hurriedly eat it, and finish just in time for when the class bell went off.

The rest of the day went by pretty fast and uneventfully, I was pretty lonely though. After school was finished I headed to the student area to look for some flyers for clubs,and I found a great ones, drama, nature, art, manga/anime, and all kinds of sports. I was pretty good at basket ball in my last school and I had a great time. I'll join the basket ball club/team, I grabbed an application, filled it out, and headed down to drop the application off. After which I headed out to where the driver said he would meet Layla and I, he was already standing there leaning against the car waiting for us. I headed over and said "hi, sorry that you had to wait."

He smiled and took my bag "Dont worry about it miss, this is my job. Your sister Layla has informed me that she will not be coming home with us, so it will only be us."

I got into the car and debated with myself over wether I should just head back or ask if he can take me to see my brother, I feel kind of bad asking him to take me out there so I guess I'll just head home and take the bus there after I change clothes.
