12 CHAPTER 12: I like you, Can you like me back?
Black's POV
I arrived at the office early. Mich and the secretary weren't around yet. Well, It's given because I am two hours early. I just felt like going to the office since I woke up before my alarm goes off and I couldn't go back to sleep anymore.
When I reached my desk, saw a memo on my table, there will be a meeting later, what would be the agenda? I didn't hear about it until today?

We are already in the conference room. Only one of the team leaders of each department is absent.
"Aren't we going to start yet?" Mich asked the secretary.
"The team leader of the design team Is not here, yet. I'll call her, Ma'am." She answered
"No need. We can start now, just let them have the minutes of the meeting" Mich suggested
"Ma'am, the design team will be the one to present!" Honestly? I got annoyed because this meeting is urgent yet the one who'll be presenting is not here yet so I decided to butt in.
"It's not OUR problem! Now, if no one will present! We should end this meeting." I said while trying my very best to sound professional. Everyone fell silent, Mich smiled at me. Geez! They're getting on my nerves.
Soon a woman came in and it was obvious that she was in a hurry.
"I-m sorry, I-m late." She said and headed at the flatform.
"Goodmorning everyone! Sorry for the delay in our presentation. I am the team leader of the design team. Our agenda is about our monthly issued magazine. Mr. Santos, the former CEO asked us to create an April issue for our Company but there's a lot of twists because it's our 10th anniversary on April 19 and we have New CEO and COO. Mr. Santos expects a lot of changes, so we decided to create a Magazine featuring our own company, not the work that we've Published. Honestly, we started this in 1st week of March. Now it's almost finished, It has 3 parts. " She explained
"First is the facilities and equipment of our company, Second is the activities we conducted, Third is Legacy" She showed us the slideshow pictures of facilities, equipment, activities, team building, charity work and profiles of all employees since the day it was built. When she finished presenting, she handed out a sample.
When the meeting ended, everyone left immediately. I was about to stand up when Mich spoke.
"Black, You're good at this, Scold her a little!" She said before she left the room. Jamaine and I were the only two left at the conference Jamaine is James's sister, Damn this coincidence! When she finished packing, I called her.
"Sit down first Ms. Mendez" I sad so she sat down beside me
"Give me one main reason why you're late?" I said.
"Emergency happened ma'am" she simply replied.
"What emergency is this?" I asked
"I want to say it but it's too personal ma'am" I nodded upon hearing her answer.
"Ms. Mendez, What happened a while ago is irresponsible for a team leader. I understand your emergency thing but you should know your obligations. We are new here and we don't know much about the company and how it works but I believe you are a team leader for a reason, I do not doubt that but as a team leader, you should also share your knowledge about that project to your subordinates so the delay won't happen again."
"I-m sorry ma'am, It will never happen again!" I smiled and got up while she remained sitting so I tapped her on the shoulder.
"But I can't deny that you did a great job, Jamaine," I said and left.
I was surprised to see her, I didn't know she was working here. I don't even know if she remembers me, but what I said earlier is all fact, She's a good presenter.

Michelle's POV
I received a text message from Xander.

What is his problem? I just replied okay.
6:45 when I got home and hell, I saw a motorbike outside, I already knew it was him. That man is here freaking day. I no longer knew what to do with him.
I went straight to the living room and I saw him laughing and eating with my parents.
"Mom, Dad," I said and kissed them on the cheek then I looked at Xander.
"Xander, I'm surprised that you're here ... Again," I said in a straight face.
He's always here to bug me. He just smiled at me so I rolled my eyes.
I sat down next to mom and started eating too. After dinner, I just put on my skinny jeans and long sleeves before I went down again
"Hey, Xander! Where are we going?" I asked but he smiled at me again.
He asked my parent's permission that he would take me out and they just agreed. Seriously? they trust this guy that much?
When we were in front of his motorbike, he put a helmet on me, and fuck I'm almost breathless on what he just did, His face was very close to me as he locked the helmet then he suddenly smiled. His genuine smile that I saw for the first time.
"W-where are we going?" I awkwardly said and immediately create a distance between us. I suddenly became uncomfortable and conscious, my heart beats louder than usual. The fuck, Mich? Usually, I do not care what I do or how close he is to me but why am I acting weirdy?
He laughed a little and got on his motorcycle.
"Somewhere overlooking, come on!" He said.

"I fear riding in a motorcycle because I might fall!" I said as I ride on his bike and that is true. I have never ridden on a motorcycle before.
"Don't worry! I'll catch you if you fall or much better if you hold onto me so we can fall together" And again, he took my breath away. I shook my head and tried my best to suppress my smile but I failed, I'm just glad he can't see my smile.
While we were on the road, I accidentally hugged him. Because he deliberately hurried so I would end up hugging him. Damn him! I'm a scaredy-cat when it comes to this.
We arrived at Angono Overlooking where we can see the city below. When we arrived there, We've seen, other riders as well.
"Bro" The men greeted him as we stopped at the opposite side. We got off the motor and then walked towards them. He fist-bumped with the guys and casually talked to everyone there.
After a while, he pulled me closer and introduced me to the guys in front of us.
"Guys, She's Michelle Santos, Mich I want you to meet my friends. Kim, Gabby, Migz, Ken, Tom, and John" We shook each other's hand. I'm totally freaking out right now, What the hell is happening?
"Didn't know that you'll bring your GF bro" Someone said. Geez! I couldn't even remember anyone's name yet.
"Oh! I'm not her girlfriend!" I immediately refused
"Woah! I thought you said yes?" he asked surprisingly...
"I'm just about to court her, Kim. Thanks for spoiling it!"Xander sarcastically said which made his friends tease us. I just smiled but the truth is I want to shout at him.
When his friends walked to where they can see the view better, I pulled Xander far enough so they can't hear us talk.
"What the hell was that Xander?" I asked as my eyebrows creased.
"What?" he asked with that innocent look on his face that made me frown.
"That Girlfriend thing and courting thing, Godamnit!" I retorted but after I said that he gave me a look. Not the irritating look but one look that takes my breath away, again. He's looking at me intently that I can't even look away.
"I'm serious, I want to court you, I want you to be my girlfriend!" He's saying it sincerely but those words are forbidden in my whole system. The surrounding felt heavy, my palms are sweating, my heart beats as if it wants to leave my body
"I'm not into a relationship Alexander so you no, you don't have a chance!" I said and walked away even I know I can't leave this place without him
"Wait where are you going?"He asked and held my hand which I immediately removed because I felt like I was electrified when he touched me.
'Seriously? What is happening to me? What the hell is that sensation?'
"To your friends! I will make it clear that you will not court me!" I exclaimed and glared at him before turning my back again. After taking a few steps, I was forced to stop because he hugged me. Shit to the nth level! My heart beats faster than usual. He hugged me back while his head is resting on my shoulder.
"I know you've been through hell in your past relationship but I'm still thankful that it didn't work. Because I have given a chance to know you. Please, Mich, move on, move on with me. I really like you, can you like me back? " He whispered that in my ear and it makes me shiver. I bit my lip so hard to calm my mind and heart. Geez! What do I do?
