10 GONE AND RETURN Part 9

"Are you sure this isn't just her plan for ruining our weekend together?" Dylan asked. They're now heading back to Morrisey's house.

"I'm not sure.." Morrisey said. She knows Dylan must be dissapointed now they have to cancelled the whole thing.

"I'm so sorry.." Morrisey said again.

"That's alright.. you just need to make it up to me twice harder next time." Dylan smiled.

They arrive at Morrisey's house but no one seems presence on the vicinity.

"That's odd.. she said she will be here." said Morrisey.

They enter the house and quickly find Alice/Nora in the kitchen.

"Oh, your back. Is something wrong? Did you forget anything?" she said.

"Uh, no.. actually Elsa called.. and she said something happened.. I don't know what it is.."

Morrisey explained.

"Is that so. Well, she seems normal to me. But she's upstairs if you want to see her."

"Okay, mom.. I mean, Mrs. Callahan."

Elsa's mom smiles. "It's okay sweetie, you can call me mom. This is after all.. her body."

Morrisey and Dylan walk to Morrisey's room where Elsa is going to spent the weekend. When they enter the room Morrisey feels her heart almost drop.

Elsa is there, sitting by the window. She doesn't looks agitated at all like she sounded on the phone. She's calm and unmoved.. just like Morrisey's mom before, when she charmed her with the disarmed of the enemy spell.

"Elsa?" Morrisey called. She doesn't answered, frightening Morrisey even more. And assuring her that Elsa indeed being under some sort of spell. But by who?

"It's everythint alright?" Alice/Nora suddenly stands behind them.

"Uhh.. I don't know. She's not answering me.." Morrisey said.

"Oh, dear.." Alice/Nora grabs Morrisey's hand and leads her to the hallway. "I think this is hard for her you know.. and God knows I have nothing against you and Dylan. You young people all are free spirits and that how it supposed to be.. but the thing is, I think Elsa having a hard time, you know.. accepting the fact that you and Dylan together now."

"What?" Morrisey surprised by the accusation.

"You know it's only a couple weeks ago she's Dylan's girlfriend and now he's on his way to the cabin with you, Morrisey. Her best friend."

"That's absurd." Dylan said holding his anger.

"She's perfectly fine, yesterday.." Morrisey defended.

"Oh, I know.. I know. She's just putting a facade, she's actually pretty upset, you know. She told all about it yesterday."

"She.. told you?"

"Yes. But don't let it ruined your plan, Morrisey. I'm sure she'll come around later, don't worry I talk to her." she softly but stern push Morrisey to the stairs, signalling her to go.

"Wa.. wait, Elsa it's that true?" Morrisey try to shouted the question from the stairs.

"Oh, don't you push her, child. It'll only upset her more." Alice/Nora said. "Have fun you two." she said before closing the door on Dylan and Morrisey.

Morrisey looks at Dylan. "What do you think?"

Dylan who stays mostly quiet is trying to process the whole thing.

"Well.. I did suspect she's trying to mess with our plan this weekend." Dylan said. "It actually make sense.. in a way."

"But, the call.. her voice. She seems so frightened.."

"We check and she seems alright.. ignoring us to be exact." Dylan said heading to his truck.

"And that means.. we still can go to the cabin." He smiled so wide.

Morrisey smiled too. "Is that the only thing on your mind?"

They hop on the car and never look back to the house.

They're on their way back from the cabin. Morrisey never know that she could be so blissful by making another person happy. They spent the whole weekend together, and turns out Dylan uncle was there too. Dylan playfully mocked her, saying that she had perverted idea on how's the weekend is going to be.

Back on the road, Dylan's phone is ringing non stop.

"Who the heck is it?" Dylan annoyed and finally pull over on the gas station.

"I'm going to the rest room." Morrisey said.

She checked her messages on her way there and can't believe what's in it. Her mom, well Elsa's mom, had left like tons of message, begging her to call her. She checked the time, the message just recently sent. She picks up her phone and dials her mom's number, when Dylan exit his truck and runs toward her.

"Morri.." he said in panic.

"What's wrong.."

"That was Trevor.. he said.. he said Elsa.. Elsa she killed herself."

Morrisey listens to what Dylan said, buf it feels so far away. She played the last moment she saw Elsa in her head, she was sitting by the window in her room. Unmoved. But her eyes.. her eyes is so sad and frightened. Just like her mom that night, her body was paralyzed but her eyes was angry. They were there. They were inside. They just can't called out for help.

"Hurry.. we need to go back.." Dylan said.

They went straight to Elsa's house. A lot of people has gather there, some from their school. They look at Dylan and Elsa with cold expression. Alyson Mckay is there, she quickly approachs them.

"Where were you guys?" she asked.

"We spent the weekend at my uncle.." Dylan said.

"Listen.. I'm going to give you guys a heads up.. it's not looking good for you two.." she said.

"Oh, there you are, Morrisey!" It was her mom voice. Her mom that actually Elsa's mom, but nobody know that.

"I've been trying to reach you.. Where were you?"

she asked.

"..what? I told you, Dylan and I were going to his uncle's cabin." Morrisey said. "What happened?"

"She came to our house, she's looking for you.. and I told her that you went with Dylan. And.. and she was so shaken when she heard it. She must.. she must not take it so well, she asked if she can came to your room for a moment.. and then she stabbed her neck there.. Elsa's mom cried in front of the whole neighborhood.

"That's not what happened.." Dylan whispered to Elsa's mom.

".. Teenagers these days.. so irresponsible.." a voice from the crowd said.

"..oh my God, after her mother's dead, her best friend stole her boyfriend.. I can't imagine how she felt." another voice said.

Morrisey looks at all the judgement eyes circling them. Her body freezes, she wants to scream it's not true but she knows nobody would believe her. She looks at Alice/Nora who is sobbing in front of her. "Who are you?" Morrisey whispered. "You're not her, aren't you? You're not Nora Callahan."

Suddenly Elsa's father comes out his house, he looks at Morrisey and Dylan with cold eyes before he speaks.

"Thank you all for your concerns. It.. It definitely a hard time for me, I can't thank you enough for your support.. I know my daughter had taken her life in the heat of broken heart and nothing we can do about it." He takes one step ahead, closer to where Morrisey and Dylan standing. "..But if I could take selfishness and irresponsibility accountable, I'll definitely would."

He then aboard his vehicle and left. Leaving Morrisey and Dylan behind
