87 The Judge (3/5)

It was a new yet strange feeling that came over Ethan after witnessing Mera bolt away.

Something like this never happened before and somehow it made him feel like he was losing a piece of himself.

'No...I have felt something similar to this...'

Ethan remembered the time when Sandra left his side to pick up her daughter, and in the pit of his stomach, he always had this uneasy feeling when she wasn't nearby. Luckily, she wasn't gone for that long or something worse could have happened.

But why does that happen?

He understood that Dragons have several mates, but was it only to increase their numbers, or was there some other reason?

And how come he didn't feel this way with Kara?

He knew that he wanted the Kryptonian by his side, but this feeling...this feeling is different.

It was more of a need than a want if he had to describe it. Regardless, he couldn't just let Mera go without an explanation.

"Just go on already," Harley grumbled, crossing her arms in front of her chest. One could truly see that she wasn't happy about it, but she knew about her man's antics and still loved him.

Ethan's eyes softened while he gazed at his unhappy wife and walked to where she was sitting with a warm smile on his face.

"What d'ya want?" A slight blush appeared across her cheek when he got close. Harley was upset, but she still was in love with him and the way he looked at her made her feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Sandra could see what was about to happen and she quickly turned Cassandra away while covering her ears.

"H-" Harley attempted to speak again, but suddenly her lips were sealed, causing her to let out a surprised moan.

Something was starting to rise within her, and she suddenly grabbed hold of his collar, pulling him downward, and feverishly kissed him back like she was starved for it. Harley has kissed Ethan so many times that it's hard to remember the number, but still, even now it was incredible.

Unfortunately, after a few moments, Ethan pulled away and lovingly stroked her cheek with the back of his fingers.

[I love you.] Ethan said.

[I love you too...more than you ever know.] Harley sighed, pecking his lips once more. [Hurry up and go or Ariel is going to be long gone.]

After they pull out of their own little world, Ethan could feel the burning gaze of several people on him, and he looked to see his other wives staring at him like he was a juicy piece of meat.

He was afraid that he really might lose it if they kept looking at him like that and so he dashed right out of the room, but not without kissing them all on their cheek first.

Of course, it's not what they wanted, however, they managed to cool down when he was gone from the room.

"Heh~ He loves me the best!" Harley boasted with a grin on her face.

"He only did that because you were pouting like a little brat!" Pamela shouted, slightly ticked off.

"It's true." Raven agreed with a slight nod.

"No need to be jealous Red, Ravy!~" Harley beamed, jumping out of her chair.

"Don't call me that." The half-demon deadpanned.

"Whatever! It's clear that I am the best~," The blonde said, putting her arms behind her back. "Don't worry he loves all of us but m-Eeep!!"

Suddenly, Harley found herself picked up and bound by vines that Pamela controlled in a matter of seconds. The vines worked fast, covering her entire body like a cocoon, and even went as far as covering her mouth to keep her from talking any further.

"Mmmph!!" The blonde raged about, but Pamela made sure she wasn't going anywhere nor was she going to be able to talk.

Why did she do this?

Of course, she was jealous!

But she wasn't going to admit it.

"Now then since our husband is away. I figured it's a good time as any to let you in on what I'm planning." Pamela announced. "Of course, I'll have to make a few tweaks now."

Sandra raised an eyebrow, "Is that voluntary or?..."

"Non-voluntary."

"Oh." Sandra frowned which made Cassandra slightly curious about what was going on.

"Whatever it is, I don't want to be a part of it," Raven sighed while getting in a meditative position. She needed to calm her mind once again as the demon blood within her started to stir.

"Now now. Don't decide just yet. You haven't even heard it." Pamela smirked.

Raven deadpanned again, however, slowly but surely her stoic face started to crack as Pamela started to unveil her plan.

'Azeroth Metrion Zinthos!!!' She repeated the words in her head, hoping to rid herself of the thoughts in her head.

It didn't take long for Ethan to catch up with Mera who was already making her way downstairs. Despite being faster in water, the woman is able to travel at inhuman speeds on land as well, but it looked like she wasn't even trying.

"Mera!" Ethan grabbed hold of her right hand, halting her escape.

"Let me go!" She shouted, alerting a few of the hotel workers and residents who were staying in nearby rooms.

"I won't let you go until I get an explanation." He replied, holding onto her even tighter as she tried to jerk her hand away.

"I-I can't! You don't understand! Please let me go!" Mera pleaded, turning around and gazing into his eyes. Her mind was a chaotic mess, tears dripping down her beautiful face.

Whatever words Ethan wanted to say were caught in his throat after seeing the state she was in.

It pained him more than he thought it would to see her this way.

'Stop! Stop looking at me like that!... Please...Stop...' Mera quickly shut her eyes, hoping to still her mind, but then she heard him call her name with enough passion to make her melt.

"Mera.." Ethan slowly reached out with his left hand and started to gently wipe away the tears with his thumb as her entire body shuddered from his touch

"Hey, you!"

However, someone seemed to take offense to that as a rather handsome man wearing a gray suit approached.

Ethan simply ignored him and continued to focus on Mera, who despite shouting to let her go didn't move an inch. The princess had already made a special place for him in her heart, but she was too scared to make that leap of faith as she feared it will cause problems beyond her control.

She had only known Ethan for but a short time, and yet she found herself falling in love with him.

But why was she so against it?

He was obviously willing to make her his with little to no effort on her part, but still, she couldn't quite give in. Mera wished it was just one simple reason, but unfortunately, it was several that kept her from staying with him.

The first being that her father wouldn't approve of such a union, and the second happened to be the fact that she was already engaged to someone else.

'No...those aren't issues anymore...but what normal woman would promise herself to a man when he has several other women!' Mera angrily thought.

She was royalty!

It could only be her and her alone!

The princess would absolutely not share her man with other women as it was simply too much!

If it was any normal man she would have beat him into submission and forced him to be loyal to herself and herself alone!

'...If only it could happen...' Mera knew that wasn't going to happen because he is several times stronger and she sees the way he looks at them.

He won't give them up for anything in the entire world no matter how superior she was...

That man would fight the entire world if it meant keeping those women by his side.

And so she did the only thing she could do...

She ran away...

Each step she took felt like a thousand, her heart cried out in opposition to what her brain was telling her to do, but she tried to ignore it.

'Oh, gods...what am I doing?...'

She could have moved faster, she could even be harsher with her words to make him give up on her, and yet why did she let him catch her so easily?

"Hey, is this guy bothering you?" The man in the suit asked Mera as pulled on Ethan's shoulder. Unfortunately for him, the princess took offense to this and glared at him like he was her nemesis.

"REMOVE THAT HAND OR I WILL PERSONALLY SEND YOU OFF TO WHICHEVER GOD YOU PRAY TO!!!" She furiously shouted at the top of her lungs, immediately scaring off the man and anyone else that thought to interfere.

Ethan chuckled at this, and looked at her even more fondly than before, continuing to dry her face with the help of a little magic.

Mera's face turned red like a tomato after she realized her outburst, and she quickly averted her gaze to avoid even more embarrassment.

Soon though, she felt her chin being grabbed before she was forced to look him directly into his eyes.

Those gorgeous crimson eyes were so mesmerizing, she could see his desire within those sparkling jewels. He wanted to have her, learn everything about her, and make her the happiest woman in existence.

It was almost intoxicating, making it a little hard to think straight, but she managed to voice some of her concerns.

"...I've only known you for a f-few days...why do you look at me like this?... You also have other women that would...I-I'm engaged also...I..." Eventually, Mera stopped talking as she noticed Ethan wasn't listening to her or so she thought.

He heard every single word, he just didn't care at the moment. "Perhaps it would be best to simply let you go...but I simply can't do that anymore."

Mera shivered at his declaration, her eyes becoming a bit moist once again. She was unaware at the time, but an enchanting smile happened to blossom on her face.

Despite her chaotic mess of a mind, the princess was becoming overfilled with happiness.

"Y'Mera Xebella Challa, princess of Xebel and heir to the throne...I want you to be my w-" Before he could finish talking he felt Mera's soft pillow-like lips against his own, passionately kissing him like they've been lovers for quite some time.

Mera could no longer deny him or her feelings anymore and gave in to her desires.

The two kissed over and over again, ignoring the stares and the comments as they were solely focused on the other. Fortunately, Ethan had enough sense to pull away otherwise he might have taken this alluring woman in the hallway.

"Let's go back...ok?"

"Y-yes..." Mera nodded, gripping his hand tightly while he leads her back to the area she ran from. Of course, the two could have run back, but the two slowly walked, enjoying the short moment of bliss.

Although Bruce sometimes wished he could be Batman 24/7, his real identity was just as important to keep things from falling apart.

Wayne Enterprises continued to grow and he believed it was about time to make some real changes to Gotham City. In the back of his head, he always had plans to reform the city, but he didn't feel like it was time to make a drastic change, however, he changed his mind after everything that happened in the past month.

First, he'll need to talk to his board of directors and come up with a real plan that will get investors interested in the idea.

But for now, his mind is a little preoccupied with what was going on in Gotham as some unfavorable people started to make some noise.

Barbara is currently banned from her hero persona until the issue with the Court of Owls has been solved.

'Speaking of that, I'm still at a loss. The most I can dig up is vague...Leaving me to make more of a passive approach to obtain information.' Bruce sighed as he signed off on some paperwork for the company. 'Also the issue of the League of Assassins becoming more active...I can't help but feel that it is somewhat connected...'

As he was thinking, the telephone on his desk started to beep. It was his assistant

"Hello, Mr.Wayne. You're 11 o'clock is here."

"Send them in please." He replied.

Soon a man with short jet-black hair and piercing blue eyes walked into the room. He was wearing a rather nice suit that matched the color of his hair and a red tie which he straightens as he approached Bruce. The man looked no older than 30-year-olds old, possessing a handsome face and body that would make most women go crazy over.

He smiled and stretched his hand out towards Bruce for a handshake. "It's nice to finally meet the famous Bruce Wayne."

All types of warnings went off inside of Bruce's head, but he ignored them and used his business smile while shaking the guy's hand. "It's nice to see you too Mr. March."

"Oh, please." The man chuckled. "Just call me Lincoln."
