1 His worth

The man sung out "I am the man who belongs upon the throne not him he has done no such thing as to deserve this, I have lead wars and won battles, I have killed no less than one hundred men, but you choose him, he hasn't even hunted a deer how could he lead you into battle!" kalima shouted, his ears were red with rage, his eyes piercing at the current king. "How dare you take this away from me, I have spent every hour of everyday preparing to be the kings protector, but you chose him over all of your other sons, he is the youngest and hasn't even picked up a sword." He started to tremble with anger. "I am your king Kalima if you continue with this nonsense I shall make you clean the pigs pens until the day you die! There are plenty of loyal men who would be happy to have the roll you have been so lucky to have." The king gives a look to his gaurds to prep if kalima decides to make any unsuspecting moves. "You are my best knight but you are not the wisest for you see my son has been given the throne by my father and I was only meant to be king until he shall be old enough, my father chose him because of his soft nature and you shall do the same." The king lowered his temper and stood to face kalima. "I did not want my son to be king but it has been written in the scrolls and I can not change the law, though I believe my father chose him to unite our kingdoms instead of making war with the neighbouring people." The king was standing a foot away from kalima's face. "I understand your anger I too have felt it my nephew, but we cannot dwell on these things for we cannot change them." The king holds kalima's shoulders. "You must understand why he cannot shed blood now don't you." kalima sighs, he nods with his head low. "Good boy." The king says as he softly pats his face. "I still do not approve of this my king but I trust the king before you." He turns to walk off. "Do not make this worse than it is kalima." The king calls out. "I don't intend to my king."

Kalima leaves the throne room the halls decorated with iron and gold made into the shapes of different animals and the kings over the decades, armour and weapons scattered around with paintings of their beautiful queen's framed in pure gold and painted to look like goddesses. "It should be my wife, amour and weaponry upon those walls." Kalima proclaimed to himself puffing his chest and picking himself up after the devistating interaction between him and the king. The hall comes to an end, the tall wooden doors with iron locks tower over him. Kalima clears his throat then the distracted gaurd perks up and apologises "Sorry kalima, it's been a..." "I don't care for your excuses just open the doors." kalima says in a blunt tone. "Of course." The gaurd nods and looks away from kalima out shame, as he unlocks the doors he stammers out one more, "Sorry." kalima grunts and pridefully marches out of the castle. As kalima starts to walk towards the village he gets called over by Princess Lucinda who is waving at him from her window ledge inside the castle. "kalima! Why are you leaving so soon?" She says in a seductive tone. "Your father in law the king is letting my cousin Francis be king! He hasn't even laid eyes a sword how is he going to be king." "But why are you leaving? You didn't even come see me." She says as she plays with her brown silky hair. "I'm too angry to stay in that castle any longer I need to go to practice combat to stop myself from hurting anyone." Kalima says still in a huff. "Why don't you come up here and I can rub your shoulders instead to remove that tension, pretty please." Lucinda says as she gives kalima puppy dog eyes. Kalima stops for a second to think about the offer but turns it down. "Not today Lucinda." He calls out. "Fine go play in the mud with those farmer boys!" Lucinda huffs.
