26. Match

Two-three days went away like a flash as Alex spent his time with Diana and enjoyed his hunts and the pleasant food fights with her.

She developed a keen nose and would show up everytime he cooked anything. He even asked her to bring Ale with her everytime.

They enjoyed the couple of days very well and grew quite close to each other as they went on hunts and even slept together.

Now Today was the day of the challenge. "Diana sis, make sure to remember our bet". Alex said as he smiled at her cheekily after breakfast.

"You get ready for the fight. If you don't win then-". Diana said it till there but didn't continue her words for a while.

"Then you have to take me roaming around the world for a full week". She compromised as she thought of something as she couldn't just let him off.

"Sure, it'll be my pleasure". Alex said like an ancient noble with a big ass salute as well.

"Alright, get ready. The challenge will start in at most at hour". Diana said as she went out to prepare her equipment as well.

Alex just tugged at the Toga he received for clothing and nodded before heading to sit down leisurely on the small couch.

Diana's lips twitched when she saw his leisurely look and left the house while shaking her head at his antics.

After an hour, an Amazon came to his door as she knocked on the door quite harshly. "Get out, the challenge is ready!" She shouted in front of the door without even waiting for a reply.

Alex shook his head. 'Their hatred is too extreme'. Alex thought as he just followed behind her leisurely.

They walked on as they passed by some Amazons who were heading in the same direction as them. He tried to wave at them but they just ignored like he wasn't even there.

He followed for a while and came to a large colosseum that was round and had a stage in the middle with water on the sides.

The seats in the arena were full as talking and cheers could be heard everywhere on the seats and the stadium.

Alex made his way into the challenger's area as he sat down on a chair and looked at an assortment of weapons and armour around the room.

'No need for this anyway'. He thought as he didn't really need the weapons or armour as his techniques were enough.

Slowly, drums and Horns rang as Hippolyta made her way over to the platform and her special seat pf honour.

She stood in front of the railing as the whole stadium quieted down from her presence. Taking a satisfactory look around, she nodded and continued.

"Today, a child of man has challenged us Amazons in a duel. As proud warriors and Heroes, we cannot take the challenge lying down. So this match will decide the outcome of the winner and show him that we, the Citizens of Themyscira aren't below men". She gave her speech as the Amazons cheered loudly from her emboldening words.

'How pitiful. An old generation's hate being idolised and given to the new generation. They are just closing themselves off from advancement'. Alex sighed and shook his head again at their behaviour.

Even Diana on the other side of the arena was a bit disappointed in her sisters and mother. She knew that their extreme cannot go on for too long.

"Let the challenge begin". She said and both sides of arena opened and Alex strolled in leisurely among jeers and boos from the audience.

Opposite to him was a burly Amazon standing at a height of good two meters tall and muscles all over the body.

She was carrying a big club on her shoulder as she looked down at Alex playfully and arrogantly like looking at a bug.

"I am going to squash you like a bug". She said as she swung the club around lightly and agilely.

"Sure". Alex just waved his hands as he suppressed a big feral grin from appearing on his face.

The Amazon grew red from anger as she recklessly waved her Club at Alex. Alex just ducked below the club and delivered an elbow straight at her Diaphragm.

She winced in pan as she staggered and clutched her abdomen with one hand. She glowered at Alex as she stomped her foot and delivered another strike.

Alex elegantly dodged her attack and struck her chin with the bottom of his palm. The strike rattled her brain and made her lose her footing.

Alex took the chance and swept her legs. She fell down with a thud as Alex looked down at her from above.

"You lose". He said in a plain voice but there was a grin on his face.

The Amazon looked ashamed but acknowledged her loss and took Alex's offered hand to stand back up.

Strength was respected, no matter what. Seeing how effortlessly he defeated her in about two to three moves. She was impressed and convinced of his power.

"Thank you". She was much more amiable than before after witnessing his power.

The rest of the Amazons also quieted down as they looked at match with astonishment as they never thought that a man and a child at that could win against them.

Diana was the least surprised as she had went to some hunts with him and was quite accustomed to his martial prowess but the first time when she saw him hint was quite the surprise.

He was able to disappear from her vision and sight right before her. She was astounded and terrified to say the least.

'He could assassinate before you even know what happened'. That was the first thing she thought when she saw what he did.

Hippolyta wasn't any better as she saw how effortlessly Alex took care of one of the strongest Amazons on the island.

'This boy is strong and dangerous'. Her form address had also unknowingly changed from Child of Man to boy. Progress was being made.

Alex looked up into Hippolyta's eyes as he spoke.
