5 Irregulars

Everyone was shocked.

Some were wondering what happened and how they were pushed back.

Some of them knew what happened, as they exclaimed, "This is shinsu!"

"Yep, I created a barrier of shinsu. I compressed the shinsu to make a barrier that pushed you all out."

"As you all know, shinsu is everywhere in the tower, and it plays an important role because it allows us to breathe and provides water."

"But it can also be a powerful murder weapon. So all the contestants in the tower use shinsu to fight. However, there are some people who can't handle shinsu, which means they aren't appropriate to climb the tower."

"So the team who passes through the barrier will pass, and those who don't will fail."

While some people didn't understand the meaning of his words, the more intelligent people did.

So they asked, "Team? So if one of your teammates doesn't pass, then…"

Lero Ro cut him off and said, "Isn't it obvious? That team will fail."

The regulars would go on to talk about how unfair the test is, and Lero Ro would go on talking about how luck is the most important thing in the tower.

As people began attempting to pass the shinsu barrier, Gojo was still standing in the same spot he was in. The shinsu didn't affect him at all.

Gojo was going to say something, but someone else spoke first.

"Um… I don't know why, but I wasn't pushed out…"

"I should go and come back, right…?"

The boy noticing Lero Ro's silence and menacing glare, broke down in sweat.

"I-I'm sorry! I'll go back out! It's a test after all!"

"No, Mr. Bam, you're in. I think I made a mistake. That is part of your luck. You passed."

As people began complaining and shouting, another voice spoke above the rest, "What about me? I didn't get pushed out either."

Lero Ro stared down Gojo, and unlike Bam, Gojo wasn't affected in the slightest.

"I guess I messed up more than I thought. Well, that's luck. You pass."

The other regulars were fuming in anger. They thought, how did they get so lucky?

While a couple of them knew that Lero Ro didn't mess up at all. After all, there were people around both Gojo and Bam yet they weren't pushed back.

The strongest of the regulars there looked at Gojo and Bam, wondering who they are.

Laure knew Gojo was powerful, so although it did surprise him that he wasn't pushed back by a ranker's shinsu, it didn't shock him as much as Bam did.

As Gojo and Bam sat a few feet apart, Lero Ro approached them and said, "You guys look bored. Do you wanna chat?"

Gojo was the first to respond, "Definitely. I have lots of questions and I need answers."

Lero Ro wasn't surprised that a regular would want answers from a ranker. Considering that one has climbed to the top and the other has just begun.

"Me too! I have a question I wanna ask!" Bam said eagerly.

"Alright then, how about we play a game? Let's guess who will pass the barrier first. If you get it right, I'll answer your question and if I get it right, you guys answer mine. Deal?"

Both Gojo and Bam nodded in approval, and Lero Ro would say his answer first, "I choose that green girl. Her name is Anaak."

"Your turn, Bam."

"I also choose that girl."

"Any reason why?"

"Just a feeling."

Lero Ro stared at Bam in deep thought and a few seconds later he spoke, "Ok, your turn Mr. Gojo."

Gojo examined the crowd, and the green girl stood out from the rest. So he said, "I choose the oversized crocodile."

And similar to what he asked Bam, Lero Ro said, "Any reason why?"

"I already know the green lizard's gonna be the first to pass, but since I'm a leader, not a follower, I chose someone else." Gojo responded.

Lero Ro and Bam were confused by Gojo's words. He willingly lost the game because he didn't want to choose the same answer as both of them.

A few moments later, the first person to bypass the barrier was indeed Anaak.

"Well then, it seems it's a tie between me and you, Bam. But since I'm a ranker, I'll answer your question."

Bam was overjoyed and quickly asked, "Did a girl with light blond hair and freckles pass by here?"

Lero Ro thought about it for a few seconds and said, "I didn't see someone like that in any of the tests I was in charge of."

Bam's expression went from happy to sad once he heard Lero Ro's response.

"Any other questions?"

"Could you tell me about the irregulars?"

Gojo and Lero Ro both had the same expression on their face.

Gojo had his suspicions about Bam.

Gojo, who was an irregular, managed to not get pushed back by the wave of shinsu and coincidentally, the same happened to Bam.

Gojo, although he didn't outright say it, knew that Bam was also an irregular like him.

Lero Ro would go on to explain everything about the tower and also about the three irregulars, Phantaminum, Enryu, Urek Mazino.

These people caught Gojo's attention. He wondered if all irregulars came from Japan and wanting to ask, he had to climb up.

But then it clicked, there was an irregular next to him. He could just ask him.

"Bam. Are you by any chance from Japan?"

Gojo didn't expect him to answer truthfully if he was. He was planning on reading his facial expression, but seeing Bam's genuinely confused expression, he erased the idea of all irregulars being from the same world.

Of course, Bam could just be ignorant about basic geography, but what were the odds of that.

Lero Ro hearing this talk about Tokyo made him curious.

"Can I ask a question?" Gojo asked Lero Ro.

"But you didn't guess correctly." Lero Ro replied.

Gojo smiled widely, "How about this? You answer one of my questions and I'll answer any of your questions truthfully. I'm sure you already know about who we really are considering both me and Bam's questions, but wouldn't you wanna hear it from me to erase all that suspicion? It's a win-win."

Lero Ro thought about Gojo's offer, and it sounded very good to him.

He can erase all the suspicion he had lingering in him if he answers a simple question.

Just like Gojo said, it's a win-win.

"Fine. Ask your question."
