This is the phrase that explains the fact of Adam(the first man created by God). It shows how Adam instead of facing God Almighty, ran away fearing his punishment and this is also the major reason why we humans got banished from the paradise of God.

Adam after eating the fruit of knowledge from the forbidden tree of the paradise hearing the words of eve(second Lady created by God Almighty), made a serious offense by not accepting the truth. He was so coward that fearing the punishment for his wrong doing he lied to God that he hasn't eaten the fruit.

Conclusion:

We present day humans also possess the same character of Adam. We even after committing a crime don't accept it, until it is proved in front of us. By this we prove that we all belong to the same category as Adam and eve and that's why heaven remains forbidden for us till now.
