2 GODS IN TIME

Why does it feel so real. Ohinoyi was not sure what was going on, he found himself in a village surrounded with mud made huts. He kept on walking but not a single soul was outside, which was kind of strange because it was day time, He kept on walking untill he saw a young child who hugged his legs and his face laying between his knees. He walked up to the boy as he squatted next to him. He touched the boy.

Ohinoyi: Are you okay?

Boy:* raises his head *

Ohinoyi gasped and he fell on the ground, the boy's face was painted red, and his eyes were pure white with no eye balls.

Boy: there is no time left, you need to wake up and come help us.

Ohinoyi was teriffied and confused as he kept on moving his body backward, slowly using his elbows on the ground.

Boy: wake up! Wake up! Wake up!.....(the voice slowly started to sound feminine as if it was that of a young lady). "wake up! Hey! Wake Up!!.(the voice yelled louder , and there was a loud bang on his door) which woke Ohinoyi up, Ohinoyi then shrieked and jumped off his bed as he then fell on the ground.

"there is only one idiot who will yell like this" ohinoyi thought to his self as he tries to pick him self from the ground.

Suddenly there was a loud bang on his door, It was his younger sister bisi.

Ohinoyi: What now! ( shouted abruptly and feeling irritated).

Bisi: king! come out, breakfast is ready.

(he could hear the sarcasm in her voice).

Ohinoyi: Am coming (he squinched up his face).

Bisi: oh and today is the judgement day (she said with a crooked tone in her voice).

"Oh crap! ...it's today. The judgement day" Ohinoyi thought to his self.

The judgement day is the day the children go to school to collect their end of term results, and as for ohinoyi today's judgment is a big one because it's his final term in junior highschool.

Bisi: If you like come; if you like don't come, I hope you choose the second option (she stormed off).

He sighed. Sometimes he wonders if is wrong of him to wish for a shark to swallow her whole.

He went down for breakfast, the whole family have already settled down, he greeted his grandma, parent, and older sister before seating down.

Ewatomi: how was your night? She gave her grandson a genial smile.

Even though she's old, her beauty is still alluring, she has a beautiful large grey eyes, a pointed nose and rosy cheeks, tall slender legs, and a very light skin complexion which makes her look like a goddess of beauty.

Ohinoyi: Am fine grand ma, *he returned the smile*.

Ohinoyi is a fifteen year old boy. Who is tall, has a refined brown eyes, a concave nose and is light in complexion. He looks like his mother and grandfather.

Still having their breakfast when the first daughter of the families phone started ringing. Her face turned sour and she looks really irritated.

Eniola: what is it my dear. ( their mother who looks like the female and older version of Ohi. Looks at her daughter worriedly).

Asipitar: nothing ma, just a very annoying boy from school (she said with an irritating look on her face)

Thanks to her super good looks, she has tons of admirers. She looks more like their grandma.

Their Father had a grim expression. He squinched his face so much he looked like he swallowed something bitter.

Ozovehe: Tell him to stop disturbing you Or I will have to handle this myself.

He's dark in skin complexion, has a round nose, black eyes. He is a very handsome man and the twins look like him.

Asipitar: Don't worry Dad I can handle this.

She smiled in other to calm her raging father.

Done with their breakfast. They headed out. Everyone took their place in the car. Ohi's heart was beating so fast and loud he could hear nothing else, his legs feels numb and his breathing became difficult,

Ohi: I should have studied * he whispered to himself*

Their father could see the distress on ohi's face as he glanced at him through the car's front mirror. He then started the car and they took off.

While they were heading to school, they were on a highway which lead straight to their school.

Bisi: Daddy, what will i get when i get the first position? ( with a smile on her face)

Beni: You mean, when I get the first position, cause there's no way you'll come first when am in the class. (she smiled sheeply). Which earned her a glare from her twin sister.

Abeni is bisi's twin and they both are in the same class which makes them always compete for the first position in the class.

Ohinoyi's heart was still beating fast, praying to not be included in the conversation.

Dad: don't argue, let's see the result first.

Bisi: ( turned to look at Ohi with a sinister smile). What about you Ohi?

Am dead, Ohinoyi thought in his mind. He pretended to not hear her. But his witch of a sister did not give up.

Bisi: Dad, what about Ohi?

Dad: Ohi, what do you want me to get for you?, y'know for your good grades.

His father showed a sign of fate in his son but Ohi next words pierced his heart.

Ohi: dad, don't bother yourself, my results would be as bad as they usually are(as he turned his face aside).

His father just turned up front and kept on driving. But the look on his face only says "what can i do to help this boy?".

They reached a bridge which was constructed above a river.

Ohinoyi was staring at the river with his chin resting upon his knuckle, Suddenly he saw a woman's head protruding from the river, she was diving out of the water, exactly like a fish does. Ohi was not sure if he was the one seeing things but the lady had a fish tail for legs. He gasped and shriecked out of fear when their eyes met. The Mermaid opened her mouth showing her razorlike teeth. Bisi saw that the colour has drained from her brother's face

Bisi: Ohi, What's wrong with you?

She asked worriedly but he kept pointing at the river. Until they finally drove away from the riverside.

Ohi: Didn't you see her?

Bisi could see fear in his eyes. This also caught the attention of their Dad and Abeni. He saw his son looking like a soulless body and his eyes filled with fear, like he has seen a ghost. He brought the car to a complete halt, looking really worried as he turned to look at his son.

Ozovehe: What's the problem ( he said staring at Ohi, with concern in his voice).

Looking at all the eyes staring at him, realizing that he was the only one who saw it. He thought for a while, finally decides to answer.

Ohi: nothing

Bisi squinched her face in anger she faced her front and started murmuring to herself. His father stared at him for a while, before he continued their journey to their school.

While they were gone, the mermaid then jumped out of the water to show a slender and very seductive looking legs, her razor like teeth's was now well arranged and white. Showing a beautiful innocent face.

Mermaid: A mortal that can see us, how exciting.

She had an evil but yet creepy smile plastered on her face, the kind that can send a thousand chills down someone's spine.

After everyone got their report cards. They all headed to meet their father, he came to pick them. Abeni came first while Bisi came second, he saw her crying, she looked like someone who lost something dear to her, he almost laughed. Everyone knows she has a haughty manner, she ran to her father and continued cry. "

Bisi: they cheated me (she sobbed and was refusing to admit defeat)

Abeni: Noboby cheated, am just very intelligent (Abeni sneered at her). "

Ozovehe: Of course, my baby is intelligent

he was trying his best to coax her. Ohi is still thinking about what he saw he furrowed his brows. He shook his head "Am seeing things because I watched a lot of fantasy and sci fi movies" he convinced himself "It was nothing, if she was real Bisi would have seen her". He thought to himself. He walked towards his father and greeted him, his father answered and stretched his hand towards him, Ohi immediately knew what he wants so he handed his report card, his father opened it and read through it, thou he didn't express it but there was a hint of disappointment on his face, Ohi could see the disappointment in his father's eyes and it stunked him like a sharp arrow speared through his heart. His father closed it , he didn't say anything as he entered the car, the rest took their places and didn't say anything. Until they finally reached their destination.

They reached home just to be welcomed with the aroma of their mother's cooking, their grandma was sitted on the couch as she was watching a Yoruba film on the TV. They said their greetings, the twins showed their report cards. While Bisi explanations were pure hogwash. Their grandma looked up at Ohi and smiled genially but Ohi gave her a forced smile

Ewatomi: So can I see the report cards now.

He didn't say a word and walked away, he entered his room and laid down on his bed.

Thirty minutes later, he heard a knock on his door, he stood up and opened the door, it was his mom, she was holding a tray with his meal and favorite local drink Zobo. She cheerfully smiled at him and he smiled back.

Eniola: Here (she gave it to him). You still have to eat

Ohi: thank you mummy,

Eniola: You're welcome my dear.

Their mother was a person who doesn't talk a lot but her actions towards you would tell you what she's trying to express.

she left the room and he closed the door.

Later that day his father knocked on his door. He opened it and his father threw his car key at him, he quickly caught the key.

Ozovehe: Let's go for a drive.

Ohi: Am I driving?

Ozovehe: Yes, but around the neighborhood.

Ohi was really excited to be driving. While Ohi was still driving, cruzing with his Dad around the neighborhood, some of his classmates saw him driving and he waved his hands to them.

Ozovehe: your Mother and I have agreed to admit you into a boarding school.

The car came to an abrupt halt.

Ohi: What?!

Ozovehe: Are you trying to kill us? ( he yelled with his hand placed close to his heart).

Ohi: you shouldn't have thrown a bomb at me, especially when am driving (he rebutted). Why a boarding school?

Ozovehe: Its a displinary school, where you can't slack and you will meet kids your age. Dare suggested it(his father added)

"Since when did you start listening to that big belly idiot". Ohi thought to himself, not daring to voice it out.

Ohi: but I don't want to go to a boarding school, I don't.....

"His father cuts in".

Ozovehe: you don't have a choice.

Ohi had to concede to the argument.

Ozovehe: you know your mom and I..we love you alot. Look at that boy. He pointed at a boy fixing a car in a garage not far from where they were parked.

Ohi: you mean Emeka.

Ozovehe: Yes, he has to work hard to go to school and feed himself. Ohinoyi you need to be responsible, you won't forever live under me. Am sure you have dreams, you want to achieve, you also have a plan of getting married and having kids right, (his Father grinned at him)

Ohi was totally mortified

Ozovehe: Ohinoyi why do you miss your classes?.

Ohi was shocked, his father knew. No matter how he tried, he couldn't bring himself to utter a word.

Ozovehe: I kept on having a niggling doubt about that boy bayo, if you are going to make friends, make friends with people that are sensible and responsible, also don't let them dictate your life(his father scolded him). For example me and Dare are friends but do you see me drinking, gambling or going to clubs. You have to think for your self. You are old enough to know what's right and what's wrong(his father calmly added)

Ohi: I am sorry Dad (his eyes filled with tears).

Ozovehe: >sigh< its okay, we all make mistakes in life(he shook his head with his eyes closed)

Ohi lowered his head with a tear drop rolling down his cheek.

Ozovehe: so, wanna grab some bite?(as he smiled with a glim on his face).

While Ohi cleaned his tears and smiled at his Dad

Ohi: sure.

They bought icecream, snacks and decided to drive home. On their way home their car was stopped by their neighbour.

Woman: Good evening sir (she was looking haggard).

Ozovehe: evening.( he looked at her with concern).

The woman shows him a photo of her husband

Woman: my husband has been missing for two days now. Please have you seen him. (She asked with a terrified voice)

Ozovehe: no..not really (he replied with a schok on his face)

He questioned the lady which led to a long explanation. Ohi hated the woman's husband as he is a womanizer, if womanizing has a school, he will graduate with first class and be given the presidential position for his excellent womanizing skills. But he pitied the wife and the missing husband. They drove back home.

At ohinoyi's room.

he was lying on his bed thinking about his father's advice letting it sink into his head, he thought about his friendship with Bayo, how he always follows the boy and taking the boy's advice.

Ohinoyi is the type of person who always wants to fit in anywhere he goes, and bayo only took advantage of that and turned ohi to his lackey.

He was still thinking when Bayo called his phone.

Bayo: Yo bro, where u at?

Ohi: am at home, What about you?

Bayo: am at Caleb's, so sup na? I didn't see you at school today.

Ohi: oh yea, my old man was all over me toady so I couldn't move around.

Bayo: oya na, so you coming? Cause we be throwing a huge party tonight.

Ohi: uh...I dunno bro..my da-

*bayo cuts in*

Bayo: dude, daddy's boy, tell him the school organized a party for us since we're graduating from junior high, he go concor na.

Ohi: *Sighed* see, bro, if he knows you'll be at the party then he won't let me go, the man got a beef with you.

Bayo: Ah! Me?..see bro, even if its to sneak out of the house, just do it and come.

Ohi: okay, I'll see what I'll tell him(ohinoyi concluded, as he cuts the call)

He then dropped his phone on his bed, and then took a deep breathe, "so today is the judgement day huh" he said in his mind as he stood up and wore his hoodie and then put his phone inside his pocket before he went down to the living room.

In the living room.

He saw his dad sitting on a chair scrolling through his IPad.

Ohi: um, daddy, i-i..um need to go see bayo. (He said to his dad nervously as he rubs the back of his head)

Ozovehe: Bayo? You mean the Agboro boy who's currently trying to ruin your life?(his father said putting the iPad aside).

Ohi: um, no its not like am gonna go see him, I just wanna settle things with him..you know, end the friendship thing. (Ohinoyi quickly replied).

Ozovehe: oh I see, don't stay out long.

Ohi: Ah okay dad, thank you (ohi happily said as he approached the door to exit the house).

"Ohi, you better not be lying to me, or else" his father suddenly said with a totally unfamiliar tone in his voice.

Ohinoyi now turned slowly to see his father, but his father didn't even turn to look at him, he was only tapping his iPad, this only mean one thing.

In the house, when the father does that it only mean one thing "you're in trouble" and ohinoyi knew that, but he didn't retreat instead he stepped out of the head heading to his destination.

At Caleb's.

Ohinoyi stepped into the house, there was a very loud music coming from the beatbox in the living room, there were a lot of teenagers dancing, drinking and smoking, some were his school mate while some were total strangers.

Ohinoyi was still standing there looking like a lost little girl.

Bayo: my man! (As he suddenly appeared behind ohi)

Bayo is a bit dark in complexion, a bit plumpy and has a round face.

Ohi turned around and gave him a hand shake.

Ohi: what's going on here? ( looking around).

Bayo: Oh this? This is real party bro.

Ohi: Oh my god you're such a jerk sometimes y'know

Bayo: whoa, no vex na, calm down. (he said tapping ohi's shoulder)

Ohi: well this doesn't look like my kind of party. (Ohi said while looking around).

Ohinoyi has never been to a disco party before only room parties where he, bayo and other friends buy some soda and play video games.

While they were there with bayo two rugged looking boys approached them(one of them was his friend also "isah") both the boys had weed in their hands.

Isah: Ah, daddy's boy is here too?(pointing at ohi).

But what caught ohinoyi's attention was the weed in their hands, he actually has fear for weed

Bayo collected the weed from isah's hand and was smoking it.

Ohinoyi: since when?(he asked bayo, pointing at the weed).

Bayo: oh this? Am just medicating (he said as he extended the weed towards ohi's face).

Ohi hit his hand away " you're an idiot you know? " ohinoyi yelled at him. Which drew everyone's attention towards them.

Bayo was quite and didn't say a thing.

One of the boys their came towards bayo "Ah, see oh, bayo don lock up" (he said as he started laughing at bayo).

Everyone else busted into laughter which left ohi riddled. "Oh my god, what have I done? He must be feeling embarrassed now" ohinoyi thought to his self as he extends his arm to console him.

Ohi: sorry bro I didn't mean it to be like this.(ohi said). But subconsciously ohi wasn't actually feeling remorsed, he was just putting up a facade.

Bayo then hit his hand away "you idiot, do you have any idea what you just did?" Bayo said in an angry tone, with his face squeezed and his fist gripped.

Ohi: Ah sorry bro, I didn't mean to-

Bayo suddenly pushed ohi to the ground and jumped on him.

Then the whole place just went wild everyone was pulling out their phones and recording the scene.

Bayo is a short tempered type of person, and in modern clubbing when you slap a weed joint or cigarette off a person's hand then you're obviously asking for a fight. And Bayo now seeing the whole crowd and seeing people recording it he just went along with the fight.

He pinned ohi to the ground and was about to start pounding on him when a girl just suddenly rushed in and pushed bayo off ohi.

Girl: stop! You idiots you'll only hurt each other..and aren't you friends? (She yelled at both of them) the girl was Mamisa their assistant class monitor. She was a muscular girl, her body is like that of a man

Everybody else was booing, then she turned at them "if y'all want to watch a fight then go and watch WWE wrestling on your parents TV" she yelled at them and it sent fear through their hearts for they knew how dangerous she was.

Ohi stood up from the ground, and turned to look at bayo but bayo didn't even raise his head to see him.

Ohi: good luck on finding a new friend. (He said as he was heading for the door).

Bayo raised his head, he was surprised, because all the time he spent with ohinoyi they've had fights but ohinoyi has never said that to him.

Bayo: well fine go, I don't need you anyway, there are seven thousand people on this earth I can always find a new friend-

*a boy cuts in*

Boy: um actually its seven billion....

Bayo: shut up who asked you. (He said to the boy angrily).

Ohinoyi stepped outside the house but he was still in the compound where some people were still partying, he was walking with his head looking down and his hands in his pocket.

Then he bumped into a lady who was also dancing there, she fell on the ground Ohinoyi quickly reached to help her, he grabbed her hand trying to help her up but her body was as cold as ice, the lady now turned to look at him but immediately she saw him she shrieked and stepped back, her eyes opened wide and her body was shaking. Ohi also was looking at her in shock wondering why her body was that cold.

The lady's boyfriend who went to grab some soft drinks came back and met the current situation "what's going on here?" He asked.

Ohinoyi: nothing I was just tryi-

the lady screamed really loud as she heard his voice, she held her ears as if she heard a terrible noise and she's trying to block her ears from hearing it

She then swiftly took off and ran away as if she was been chased.

Her boyfriend: babe what's wrong?!

He also took off and also ran after her.

Ohinoyi who was standing there totally confused, he just turned and looked around then he continued to make his way out of the house.

It was getting late when Ohi returned home, he was looking exhausted as he opened the door and walked into the living room, the sight of his father standing with his hands folded and his face squeezed was the first thing he saw.

Ozovehe:where have you been? Its past seven now(He yelled softly)

Ohi: um...I told you I was going to settle things with bayo(he replied with a puzzled look on his face)"he's getting really old" he thought to his self.

Ozovehe:oh...yes, It totally slipped my mind(he said as he unfolds his arms and sat on the couch in the living room) so how did it go then? Hope you told him everything that's on your mind?(his father added)

Ohi: Eh....not..actually everything thou, but things are over between us I guess. ( Ohi answered with grim look on his face ).he didn't tell his father exactly everything that happened.

Ozovehe noticed that the boy wasn't happy. "hey, come sit here, I wanna tell you something "he said with his palm tapping the other side of the couch.

Ohi then sat aside his dad with his face looking down.

Ozovehe: I could remember in my days when life was wild and free, me and my friends we would always skip class and go play video games...Ah back then contra and the TMNT games were my favorite, we-...

Ohi cuts in

Ohi: wait, for real? You skipped classes just to play those?(ohi teased his father with a smirk on his face).

Ozovehe: hey back then those games were the best(He argued)

Ohi: Nuh..Contra sucks, even in the eighties(he teased his father more).

Ozovehe: hahaha(he laughed) those days were fun, but there was one thing I learnt...I learnt that those fun we were having was only ruining our tomorrow (he added with a more serious look on his face).

Ohi then turned to look at his father and noticed a tear drop rolling down his cheek.

Ozovehe: it was sad and painful.. B-but I had to cut ties with them, I stopped going out to play video games, going after girls and all those stuffs, ever since then I felt a change in my life...everything started going great for me.

Ohi: so...what about your friends? You stopped been friends? (Ohi asked his dad with a curious look on his face)

Ozovehe:sadly....yes we stopped been friends.. See ohi, sometimes you just have to let go the past in order to grab the future(he said with a grim look on his face) y'know just like how spiderman leaves one web to grab another in order to elevate(he added with a sudden smile on his face)

"Wait...he knows spiderman?..." Ohi thought to his self with a puzzled look on his face.

Ozovehe: hey its getting late, you should go to bed.(standing up from the couch).

Ohi then remembered what happened earlier. "So dad, you mentioned something like GOING AFTER GIRLS so you were a playboy back then?" Ohi asked his dad with a smirk on his face.

Ozovehe:... Okay we shouldn't talk about that(his father replied rubbing the back of his head and a pale look on his face).

Ohi: well actually..something happened earlier, I bumped into fhis girl as she freaked out when she saw me...am I that scary looking? (Ohi asked his dad as he squeezed his face).

Ozovehe: haha, hey don't start putting girls on your mind...wait till you're ready or else you'll only get frustrated, and don't mind the girl maybe she's lost her mind, you're good looking jare(his father replied as he walks towards his bedroom)

Ohi: goodnight dad.

Ozovehe: goodnight ohi.

Ohi also stood up and was walking towards his room, then suddenly he just remembered the mermaid woman he saw earlier in the day which left him looking pale.

Ohi: why am I remembering this now ugh...today has been really strange thou, so many things happens today,First the nightmare, my bad grade, dad telling me about sending me to a boarding school, the fight with bayo and then the weird lady at the party *sigh* well, I'll just sleep it off. (He wondered to his self, as he walked upstairs).

In the middle of a thick dark forest near a river, it was midnight, the moon was shining bright, you could hear the crows cawing, there were giant tress all over, A young lady was running restlessly towards the river bank.

She didn't stop until she reached the river bank and then stopped,she was that same lady that freaked away when she saw ohinoyi, she was breathing heavily as she walks towards a younger looking lady sitting on a giant root that came all the way from one of the giant trees in the forest.(she was wearing a transparent white gown and her hair was long and curly, it was so long it was almost touching the ground, her eyes were pretty and she had an innocent look on her face).

Lady one: big sister..>panting heavily<..there's a problem(she said as she was walking towards the other lady).

Lady two: no, there isn't a problem yet, but there would be if you do not tell me why you're here empty handed (she said with a calm look on her face) WHERE IS THE MEAL?!(she then yelled as her eyes suddenly changed from the pure and innocent eyes to snake like eyes and her tongue stretched out like that of a a snake also).

Lady one: I-i had one, b-bu..but then something strange happened(she stammers in fear)

Lady two: strange? How do you mean?(She said glaring at the other lady).

Lady two: There was a boy, the aura around him was different, and when I looked into his eyes I saw nothing but disaster.. Absolute disaster.

Lady two: absolute disaster? You mean you couldn't get a meal for the queen, because of a boy? (She yelled) she then hissed as she stretched out her snake like tongue and was about to jump on the lady.

"Wait big sis" a voice from inside the woods said.

It was another gorgeous looking lady who was walking towards them, she had two young men walking like zombies behind her, appearantly they weren't in their right senses.

Lady one: hm, looks like someone brought some good meal for the queen. (She joyfully said staring at the young men).

Lady three: big sis, the failure is right. (She said glaring at lady one with a smirk on her face)

Lady one: don't you dare call me a failure. (She rebelled) .

Lady two: shut up, you're useless!. (She yelled at her).

Lady three: earlier this morning I saw the boy, he could actually see me.

Lady two: what? He could?. (She asked shockingly).

Lady three: yup, tell me big sis, just what do we do about the abnormally?

Lady two: well, we'll have to tell the quee-

*lady three cuts in*

Lady three: the queen?...are you suggesting that big sis?

She walked towards lady two and knelt in front of her.

Lady three: with all due respect big sis, don't you think that's kind of a coward move?

Lady two: huh?. (With a puzzled look on her face).

Lady one was also confused as she just stands there watching them.

Lady three: lets handle this by ourselves, if we succeed in doing handling this the queen would reward us and she would definitely promote you. (She said as she stood up and came closer to the lady two).

Lady two: yes yes, let's do this, Atika you're such a genius, tomorrow we'll strike. ( she said happily as she started walking towards the river).

They were all walking towards the river, the big sister dived in the air and her legs mutated into a fish tail. She then landed inside the water causing a splash, the remaining two were yet to dive in.

"Apparently Atika is planning something, but Big sister won't see it because Atika has pumped her ears with what she wants to hear..what a conning woma-" lady one was thinking to herself.

*Atika cuts in*

Atika: hey maja..stop the whole thinking, just stay out of my way and everything would go smooth for you in my new world. ( she threatened the lady) as she dives into the river.

Maja: H-her new world? (She said to her self with fear running down her veins) what could she mean by that? (She added).

She then looked up to the sky and gripped her fist. "Whatever it is, I will stop her"
