7 Companions

Outside the building, despite having come to terms that I was the one responsible t=for the sight in front of me it still left me bewildered.

Going around the mountain of corpses I continue heading away from the world edge. I walked for two hours when I garage with its doors closed. I head towards it while being cautious of any unseen dangers. When I was a few meters away from the garage I heard someone shouting that they would open fire if I took another step.

<Mark> Don't shoot I'm not one of them.

<Man 1> I don't care just don't come any closer.

After the man's shout, I didn't hear anything but I knew not to try anything just in case they really were armed. Meanwhile, the people inside were having a discussion on what actions to take towards me.

<Man 2> We should just get rid of him and take whatever he has for ourselves.

<Woman 1> No, I mean look at him he's just a kid.

<Man 2> No kid could survive out there for so long by himself.

<Woman 2> Another reason why we shouldn't do anything stupid. What if he's part of a large group and they come at us for killing him.

<Man 1> Then what should we do.

<Woman 2> let's talk to him and see if he's with anyone else and we can decide what to do from then on, and if he's really with a large group lets if we can join it.

<Man 1> I agree and w...

They were interrupted by the woman who had spoken in my defense, wondering why she seemed to panicky they quickly looked outside to see 7 zombies getting closer and closer to me.

While the people inside were taking I was making a plan of my own on how to either ask for directions or simply how to get away without being shot. That's when I heard them, turning around I saw 7 zombies coming towards me. Realizing that the mans and my previous shouting is what attracted them I facepalm at my stupidity.

I let them get closer before kicking off the ground while simultaneously activating blood-lust. The zombies paused momentarily upon the activation of blood-lust then continues their path towards me but at a noticeably slower pace. When I came up to the front of them I stepped to the side and stabbed at the side of the left one's head killing it. Then I sliced at the one that was next to it. Having killed the leading two I threw my weapon impaling the next closest one while sprinting at it and grabbing my weapon back before it could hit the ground. I sliced off the head of the three behind it and stabbed the last one directly between its eyes.

Having killed them in less than a minute I had still had blood-lust activated when I turned towards the garage. Little did I know that the current me had bloodshot eyes with a sinister blood red aura around me that despite not being targeted by my skill still inflicted fear into the hearts of those who saw it. Not much later the time was up and just stood there waiting for the people to say something and just as I was about to leave in disappointment I heard a door opening and saw a woman.

<Woman 1> We have to save him!!

<Man 1> We only have three bullets left, there are 7 of them out there how do y….

Before the man could finish speaking the scene outside left them all shocked. The kid charged at the zombies without the slightest hint of hesitation while at the same time he began to emit a cold and ruthless feeling making those near him shudder which further intensified when the blood-colored aura became visible. The next scene further shocked them, the kid they assumed would be killed tore threw the zombies as if they were nothing but flies in front of him. Having killed the seven zombies he turned to look which allowed the people inside to see his bloodshot eyes sending shivers down their spines and covering them in cold sweat. He stood there for a while then as he was turning around to leave someone opened the door and went outside.

I saw a woman coming outside towards me. She looked malnourished with large bags under her eyes. Seeing this I wonder why they don't go gather supplies as there are still things in the houses in the area as my ever-growing sacks can prove. She walked up to me leading the way for a group of 4 people, two women including her and two men who all like the first lady looked malnourished.

<Woman 1> Hello, my name is Amy what's yours.

<Mark> I'm Mark, could I ask you for directions then I'll be out of your hair.

Still remembering the fact that they threatened me with a gun I didn't want to stay too long with them as I might say or do something that would get me shot.

Not waiting for her companions to say anything Amy invited me inside, I followed but had my weapon ready at any sign that I might be attacked. What I saw inside were three kids from age 4-8 sitting on a couch looking scared. Having looked at them for a good bit I noticed that unlike the men and women they weren't malnourished, that's when I realized that they gave most of the food they had to the three children instead of eating it themselves. I stayed still looking at the children and could feel my heart hurting at the sight of these kids not being able to be lively like they should. Without thinking further, I went to the table near the door and laced the bigger of my two sacks on the table and told the kids that they could eat whatever they wanted. They looked towards their parents who were eying the food with greed.

I spoke to Amy saying that if they gave me directions all eh food in that sack is theirs. She quickly nodded and so I brought out the map and asked her if there were any super-markets within twenty minutes of the complex. She pointed at two which were possibilities only problem was that they were in opposite directions.

I told her thanks and was about to depart but was stopped by Amy saying that I should wait till tomorrow and then go, I told her I was looking for someone important to me and that the only thing I had to find her was what she wrote in her diary before she left. Amy looked like she was in deep thought then went to talk with the other people. They argued for a while, but it seemed Amy won.

She came back and told me that they wanted to go with me and that they would help me in case anything came up. I looked at the other two who nodded so I agreed, and it was decided that we would depart after they finished eating
