2 The Picture.

I sighed as I looked out of the window. Seeing the tall buildings, noisy cars and populated streets, I couldn't help but remember my own world.

It was unthinkable to anyone, even I doubted my mind a few times, but the fact is... I had transmigrated to the novel I bought on an antique store...

I wasn't crazy, the greatest proof of it was... I glanced at the few adds hanging on the stores.

A pretty girl wearing a modern fantasy like uniform smiled at the television and announced enthusiastically while driving a luxury looking sport car.

[ Faster than a 'xizog'. Get your Vulture X6 now and be safer! ]

On the opposite store, another add announced an average looking middle aged man drinking a can of soda.

[ I always enjoy drinking "Spire"] taking a sip he smiled as if refreshed then turned to watch the camera. [ Start your day like me! Start your day like a Slayer! ]

Watching such absurds commercials it wasn't hard to connect the dots, I was on the world of 'Godly Slayer'.

It was really hard for me to accept, smoking and drinking until passing out become a daily routine.

Leaving aside the fact, I will probably never see the people I cherished again, even if I overcome the sadness and strive to live in this world... How is it possible to lead a good live while living life in fear?

I knew very well the dangers that lurked in the shadows of this world, so I knew my life was destined to end!

It was only when the supply of the beer that was on the apartment came to an end that I finally came to accepted my reality.

This wasn't my world and I was not myself anymore.

The name of my current body was, according to the ID I found in the wallet inside my jean pocket, Wan Xiang.

A teenage boy without family, friends nor social life.

Although I had been spending about a month muddle headed on his one room small apartment, I had never been contacted by anyone!

"Does nobody cares for..." I took a quick glance at the name on the ID. " Wan Xiang?"

As I stood from the couch and walked around the place, it felt it was truly the first time I watched the room.

His place was without a single decoration, as if no one lived inside, there were nothing besides the basic furnitures that came with the apartment, there wasn't even a single portrait.

As if he was a ghost, he didn't had any trace of ever existing!

With my hands in my pocket, I walked around lazily.

"...What a scrupulous kid."

While shaking my head a sudden odor hit me. Frowning, I brought my shirt to my nose.

Sniff Sniff~

"..."

Disgusted, I pinched my nose.

For the past month, If I wasn't drunk then I was asleep, with such condition, how would I even had the time to worry about being tidy?

Sighing, I looked for a few pieces of neat clothes to change before bathing.

Opening the armoire that was beside the bed, I took a full view of all his clothes, which were, as expected of Wan Xiang, very few.

The clothes were all black and consisted on hoodies and black hats.

"Just like a wanted criminal."

A really mysterious guy.

While checking his clothes trying to solve the mystery behind Wan Xiang, a sudden paper fell off the pocket of the only leather jacket among the wardrobe.

"Mmm? What's this?"

Curiously, I bent down to pick the paper.

Widening my eyes, I muttered.

"A picture?"

I was really surprised.

This was the first thing Wan Xiang had that made him look more human on my eyes.

The small sized wrinkled picture was somewhat old as the color was beginning to worn out.

Inside, a very attractive young woman with long black hair and rich brown skin was smiling with a face full of love as she watched the baby on her embrace. Touching her shoulder was the hand of a white man using tuxedo, I couldn't distinguish his features as someone had purposely ripped that part of the photo, leaving the man outside the picture.

"Talking about having daddy issues... Tsk,tsk."

As if it was someone's else problem I commented.

Turning the photo around, a big word with sharp strikes and trembling lines that portrayed the anger and desperation of whoever wrote it was shown.

[Remember.]

"Humm, so bizarre."

Glancing again at the beautiful woman who had a whole life ahead, I couldn't help but lament.

Hopefully it isn't as I think and she is alive...

As I casually turned the picture over to see the written word one last time before placing it inside the jacket's pocket where it fell. My heart shook and my eyes become as big as plates.

"Impossible!"

Scratching my eyes for a while to fix what I believe was my bad eyesight. I once again turned to look at the picture.

"..."

The handwritten word 'Remember' disappeared as if it never existed. Instead a sentence that looked to be printed with a typewriter was there.

[ The missing chapter was found. ]

Missing chapter? Just what the hell its going— Hold on!

Suddenly, I light bulb turned on inside my mind.

"Is this about the missing pages of the book [Godly Slayer]?"

This time as I was carefully observing the picture, I could clearly see how the letters began to disperse before they changed to yet another sentence.

[Do you accept the reward?]

Staring blankly at the letters for a few seconds my mind went back to how for a whole month I was in constant fear to the outside world. Where I didn't dare to came outside the apartment. The sleepless nights I had when I first realized on what kind of world was I.

Will this picture help erase my uneasiness? Will I go back to sleep without worrying if I will survive the night? Then, was there even a need to ask?

"YES!"
