20 ending the political talk

The silence was once again deafening. Maybe I should've called for Ophis, she would have been happy for a bit. I could see that Ajuka, Serafall and my brother were starting to become uneasy with my comments.

Serafall : "That's... Not completely wrong, but you're oversimplifying things a lot Alex-chan. Despite what you say I AM pretty happy. My show IS my hobby, and while I spent a lot of time working, the time I spend my little Sona-tan is enough to recharge my happiness batteries. As for the council attitude... They COULD be bit nicer."

Sirzechs : "She's right you know, the council may be a bit... Stuck up sometimes, but overall we're making progress in the right direction."

I just couldn't stop the expression of sheer disbelief on my face after that comment. And I could see Ajuka and Serafall a bit nonplussed.

Alexander : "Do you even believe what you said ? You do realize that the council is the source of most of our society unrest right ? Especially considering they are terrified of losing the power they possess with the growing number of reincarnated devils. That's also the reason they are becoming unreasonable with the ranking process and vetoing more and more reincarnated devils. With the way things are going, you'll need to prevent a war to go from low to mid class, and kill a dragon or something similar to go from mid to high class."

Sirzechs : "You're clearly still a kid Alexander. You don't get the big picture."

Alexander : "The big picture ? Brother, the sheer amount of old devils that simply don't care about consequences is scary. Since you're responsible for internal affair, you should know that better than me. And I'm not even talking about their interaction with humans. The less said about that the better. For a society that is supposed to be different than the old satan faction, we sure act the same.

And that's mostly why I think that you Satans are all pathetic. I honestly think that the four of you really fought in the hope of bringing a new age. One different from the old satan faction. But look at the results. Almost nothing changed aside the package. And despite Lady Leviathan's best effort, our reputation outside the underworld doesn't get better. To be honest I don't think the other factions think we really changed.

You know, despite being somewhat unrealistic, I sometime hope you'll just go into a council meeting one day and kill the worst of the lot on the spot. I mean if they want to keep going with the 'might is right' mindset I'm all for you all showing them that it means they are NOT at the top of the food chain. It would calm the rest and allow you to change the underworld as it should have after the civil war 400 years ago."

Ajuka : "Like you said, it's not really realistic. Lot's of the 72 pillar would revolt. You encompassed pretty well their mindset, they cling to the little power they have like a bunch of hyenas. I often dreamt of purging some of them myself to be frank."

Ajuka's acknowledgment of him wanting to purge a part of the devil came to a shock to the majority. I didn't get why. They were a bunch of corrupted old fart bothering him most of the time after all.

Serafall : "By the way, why did you not consider Falbium-chan a looser like poor little old us ?"

Alexander : "sorry, I won't be giving my opinion on lord Asmodeus without him being here. That would be rude."

The true reason ? The guy was the most lazy devil ever, and most of all completely irresponsible. He simply didn't care about the role that was given to him after the war and delegated all of his work to his subordinates. The guy may be a genius strategist, but he was no army general material in time of peace. He should have become a consultant or something. Because of him the state of the underworld army was pretty underwhelming. No way I was going to trash talk him here. The information would surely come back to him.

So I did what Serafall-sama would have done : divert the topic.

"By the way, we went a bit on a tangent here, and I'm still unsure as to why I was summoned back. I heard lady Leviathan mentioning a mission ?"

Zeoticus : "You are right, we were never meant to discuss such unsavoury topics, and YOU were especially not meant to insult outstanding members of our society."

While Father was trying to take back control of the meeting, I saw that neither Serafall nor Ajuka were pleased with the change of topic. Clearly, they were more than happy to learn more about my personality via my political views.

Alexander : "You are right of course father. So may I ask the reason of my presence here ?"

Zeoticus : "I tasked your mother to bring you back because of what happened during your travels. Especially in Asgard. There has been many request for details on the events."

Alexander : "All right. Ask away father."

Ajuka : "Couldn't you first tell us what happened from your point of view, and we'll ask questions from there ?"

Alexander : "Sure."

And so I did. I gave them a rough summary of my stay in Asgard. Nothing important, basically the same they would have gotten from spies or rumours. It was a bother after all.

Alexander : "... And then I left, intending to change the furniture in my new propriety. I thought it would be a nice pit stop in Japan for the future."

Serafall : "Sooo, you haven't met Yasaka-chan yet ?" She asked me a bit too hopeful.

Alexander : "No, I'm not sure I will even met her. I just intend to find my guide, visit Kyoto a bit, and hole myself for one or two weeks before resuming my travels."

Zeoticus : "How come we were not contacted by Asgard ? House Gremory did them a great boon after all. They even named you friend of the realm. Isn't there suppose to be a ceremony of some sort in these case lady Leviathan ?"

Serafall : "Yes, it was actually one of the reason for my presence, I would like to inquire why the underworld wasn't even notified that one of our citizen gained double nationality ?"
