3 3: Accident

It had been 7 years since Alex's adoption and Alex could honestly say that Mel and Liz chose the best family for him. Though in the beginning things were bumpy Alex eventually saw both Tom and Theresa his mom and dad.

He was still in touch with Mel and Liz though it took time for Liz to get over his adoption. They sent him Christmas and birthday presents every year.

Like Tom had said in the interview he wanted to be able to enjoy sports with his own son seeing that his father couldn't do the same with him.

FLASHBACK

"Follow me Alex" Tom smiled leading Alex to the backyard. They walked the path stopping in front of the Garage door Tom opened it walking straight towards the table.

On the table there were three balls, the first one was a ⚾. The second larger than the first was a ⚽ and the the largest of them all a 🏀.

Tom played each of these sorts in middle school and highschool. He ended up going to college on a basketball scholarship he just wasn't cut out for the NBA. He watched as Alex walked up to each ball first starting with the baseball.

Alex had little to no knowledge about baseball in soccer. He picked the baseball up before dropping it. He completely ignored the soccer ball waking straight to the basketball. He picked it up before bouncing it once and catching it.

Seeing his choice Tom decided right than and there that he would teach him everything he knows about basketball. If He wanted to go pro he would have to give all he had and even that might not be enough.

FLASHBACK END(HONESTLY WISH I HAD ITALICS)

Tom did just that it was one of the reasons they bonded so fast. Teaching Alex to okay basketball was a great experience for Tom Alex was practically a natural.

One of the things Alex loved about his new life was School. He was nervous on his first day but he ended up meeting his best friends Aiden and Amy.

Aiden was a tech nerd who looked cool but loved to read comics. Amy was a goth chick waiting to happen except het hair was blond and she knew her mother would never let her die it.

Alex was the attention caller of the group his silver hair was one of the main things people first noticed about him.

The moon shined in the night sky it illuminated the world when the darkness wanted nothing more than to take over.

In one car Alex and Tom could be seen, Alex himself was staring out the window sad. He had just lost a basketball game Aiden had recently feel out a tree and broke his arm.

"How about ice cream?" Tom asked keeping his eyes on the road.

"We lost'" Alex spoke "and didn't Mom say she was cooking. What was that you both used to say when I asked for candy before dinner?"

" Yeah you guys lost but you fought hard you guys will definitely get them next time. To lose means to Learn now tell me, did you learn anything from that loss?" Tom turned to look at Alex as he stopped at a red light.

" I learned without Aiden our team sucks." Alex spoke while staring out the window with a frown on his face.

"Come on, you can do better than that." Tom said encouraging his son to reply.

Alex turned his head from the window looking at Tom. " I learned that there might not be a I in teams but there sure as heck is a me cause it was all me. all the scoring all the defense it was me and I blame me for not being able to get the win." Tom turned to the road before pressing the gas and turning to his son.

" For a person so heavily invested in comic books and superhero movies I thought you would at least know. No One can do anything alone not even all those superheroes you look up to. They're stronger together why else would they team up?" Tom asked and smiled as he looked at Alex.

Alex turned to look at Tom as he thought about all of his favorite heroes his eyes lit up as a Truck appeared speeding at the car with no sign of slowing down. Alex saw as the truck crashed into the driver side sending the car spinning. Time seemed to slow for Alex as the car came to an abrupt stop he looked at his dad who's car door was tore from the car. Tom looked over at Alex glad to see he was fine, he turned the other way to see who or what removed his car door but before he could react he was yanked from the car. That was the last thing Alex saw as he closed his eyes in drifted to sleep.

A giant well at least he appeared to be from Tom's perspective, held tom by the collar as he looked him in the eye.

The giant man sniffed as he eyed Tom, "You smell human." he spoke with a hint of disgust in his voice.

" Who are you?." Tom asked as he looked around to see if anyone was around. looking for anyone to call for help, but the road seemed clear deserted almost.

"I could tell you but it wouldn't matter, you're either about to die or won't remember any of this ever happened. Now tell me about the kid is he yours?"

"He's my son, Look I don't know why you're doing this but I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with him." Tom said doing his best to keep Alex out of this.

"No he's not yours, sure he smells human but I can feel it his blood he's the one." The giant grinned as he looked at the car. " We've been looking, searching all this time and we finally found him." Throwing Tom away the giant started walking towards the other side of the car.

Tom did his best to stand back up before racing to Alex's door standing in front of it blocking the giant. " You're not touching my son." He stood his ground as he faced the man who could literally rip a car door of like it was nothing.

"You're in the way bug." The giant reached out to grab Tom. Tom struggled while he could but it didn't last long as he was now being held up by his neck while doing his best to remove the hand that was stopping him from breathing. 'crack' Tom fell to the ground no longer breathing his neck snapped like a twig. The giant watched as the body twitched and wiped his hands as if killing Tom was beneath him.
