2 2:Adoption

Alex was raised by Liz and Mel as promised they had been interviewing families since he was a baby, Yet they never felt like the family was perfect for him.

Usually the older children were the harder it was to find a family for them, but that didn't seem to be a problem for Alex.

Family after family was interviewed and Alex grew as each family left. According to Mel and Liz Alex deserved better, so he waited.

Years Later

Alex had recently turned 7 appearing as cute and cuddly as always. His smile would light up the room and the necklace he wore that would absorb light and release it to Alex. That energy would not only make Alex's skin another but it would also seep into his body. It was one of the reasons he had never been sick to this day.

"Alex make sure you get dressed properly, Today could be the day you get adopted." Liz said with a bright smile as she looked at Alex.

"You say that every time someone shows up only to send them away. 'I apologize to the both of you but your family doesn't seem like a perfect fit for Alex'." Alex mocked with a grimace. " I may only be seven but I should at least get a choice. Like that one family that showed up they were dressed like Royalty and even wanted to donate to the orphanage. I mean they seemed perfect how are we ever gonna find someone better than that?" Alex Spoke as he walked to the kitchen table taking a seat.

Liz laughed at his question before serving him a plate with pancakes eggs and bacon. Putting a glass of juice next to the plate, " Alex that family had a lot of money but money doesn't lead to happiness. They were so suck up in sure you would have wanted to run away a week after living with them. So even if you like that family we have to make sure you'll fit like a glove in the family."

Liz sighed taking a seat next to Alex. "you have to understand we only want what's best for you, And if that means we have to keep turning away those families who wouldn't treat like we do than so be it." Liz said as she stood up and walked to the door. "Be ready after breakfast." Alex nodded as he continued to eat his breakfast.

2 hours later

"Hello Mr. and Mrs." Mel said as she stated at the couple who couldn't seem to take there eyes off of Alex.

"Wilson," the man spoke leaving Mel a little surprised. "I'm Tom and this beauty, is my wife Theresa." Tom spoke again with a small smile as he looked at his wife who couldn't seem to pull her eyes away from Alex.

"Tell me about yourselves." Liz spoke up catching the couple's attention. "You're both so young why are you looking to adopt."

Tom's eyes seemed to dim when asked that question.

"We've been married a couple years now and we decided to hold off on having children. But recently we've both came to a decision and so the process began but we didn't seem to be getting anywhere. Eventually we decided to get checked and it seems I'm the problem in our relationship." Tom's voice had an edge of sadness as he remembered the day he got the news. His wife reached over as she squeezed his hand with sad smile on her face.

Tom gave a smile back before clearing his voice. "It was quite painful until my wife came home one day with a plan. We would adopt and at first we wanted a Baby around a year to three but we changed our mind. I remembered my father and what it was like when I was young he couldn't do all the activities like other fathers could because he was too old. I didn't want that for my child so we decided that an older child would fit better."

Liz nodded hearing Tom and Theresa's story.

" Finding the right family is a tedious job for both sides, Alex has been with us since he was a baby. My Aunt and I have never felt that those families has Alex's best interest at heart. When Asked first got here along with him came a letter. The letter entrusted us with finding the perfect family for him, tell me why should we choose you to carry on our duty?" Liz asked getting a little worked up.

"Well I honestly can't say i have a perfect answer for that, but what i can say is that there's a hole in my life, my marriage a hole that I hope Alex can help fill. We aren't rich, we struggle like everyone else but we'll do our best to make sure Alex has the best life we can give him."

Mel smiled which made Liz frown, Alex looked to his two caretakers waiting on their reply.

"I'm sorry bu-"

"You two are what we've been looking for." Mel cut Liz off.

"Aunt Mel they aren't what we've been looking for, they're not perfect."

"no they aren't but they're as clost to perfect we'll get, you heard what he said everyone struggles no one is perfect. But they promised that they would do whatever it took to make sure Alex lived the best life he could."

"No I disagree Alex deserves the perfect Family." Liz grabbed Alex bringing him into a hug. "We have to keep looking."

Mel sighed as she watched Liz. " No Liz it's time we took a chance like the person who left him on our doorsteps. Alex deserves a family and I think we just found him one."

Liz really couldn't understand why Mel thought that these two would be the perfect Family for Alex.

After a lot of paperwork the adoption was complete. Mel and Liz both cried while hugging Alex, they had him since he was a baby. Now he was leaving, adopted they like had always wanted.

(Minor edit but I'll probably need to dive deeper to make it better.)
