1 1:The Boy In The Orphanage

"pitter-patter" The sound of rain hitting the ground filled the streets of Hoosier City. Umbrellas were opened wide as the people outside did their best to stay somewhat dry.

A figure in a raincoat could be seen walking the streets. She seemed to flow naturally through the crowds of people walking. In her hands, wrapped in a blanket was a baby and even though it was raining they both seemed completely dry.

She soon stopped, her destination a somewhat weatherbeaten brick building and even though it didn't seem to her in best of shape one could feel the warmth of love. She slowly kneeled in front of the door placing the sleeping baby down.

" Alexander forgive me I can't give you the life you deserve, it's not safe and we've barely escaped as it is. Live for me have fun and make friends, this betrayal we have faced will be dealt with by my own hands." Tears fell from her eyes knowing it would be forever before she could see her son again.

She kissed the baby on the forehead reaching towards her neck she removed a necklace placing it inside the blanket with a letter from her pocket. She waved her hand as a blue energy field formed around the baby. She stood up wiping her tears she slowly reached for the door bell 'Ding'. She turned her back each step she took was harder, she wanted to turn back but she knew he was safer where he was.

The door opened and as it did the blue barrier disappeared letting the rain fall on the sleeping babies face. From within the building a teenager appeared she sighed as she looked at the baby. " Mel we've got another one." she yelled as she picked the baby up walking towards the older woman.

"Liz please tell me they at least left a name." the older aged lady said looking at the baby.

"they did more than that, a letter." Liz said with a sad smile.

"well what are you waiting for read it" Mel said impatiently. She had been dealing with this for most of her life at the orphanage.

Liz nodded before opening the envelope and unfolding the letter inside, ignoring the curious look Mel had she started to read the letter inside her head.

" Out loud will you." Mel interrupted frustrated and impatient.

" Fine." Liz cleared her throat before starting at the beginning. [ His Name is Alexander Anthony Wilson. I do apologize but I'll be leaving him in your care. His parents have passed away leaving him an orphan. I'm not able to currently take care of him. So I leave him to whoever reads this letter in hopes that you find him a good family one where he can have a regular life. The necklace inside the envelope was his mothers do make sure he doesn't lose it. Once again Thank you for taking care of him.] Placing the letter down Liz walked over to Alex(Lex?) and smiled.

"we'll find you a good family," she promised leaning down giving Alex a kiss on the forehead she noticed his necklace. The neclace was a golden chain with a bright ruby that was cut straight down the center but it still shined and would absorb any light that touched it.

Both women thought the necklace was truly beautiful and fitting for the light skinned baby sleeping in the blanket.

Midnight was approaching as most people had already turned of their lights and gone to sleep. Rain still feel from the heavens soaking anything down below. Yet one women seemed unperturbed but it as the rain seemed to evade her completely.

She continued to walk step by step resolutely, no one could see the pain she was currently going through she had just left her only child in the arms of strangers.

The streets were empty her destination lit up by a light. she pulled the door open the bell chiming drew the attention of some customers. She ignored them as she walked to the back a table with a women wearing a raincoat, a newspaper covering her face.

"It's good to see you again Veronica." A small smile graced her face as she removed her hood showing her beautiful silver hair. Veronica looked up from her newspaper she sighed seeing her sister for the first time in the last couple months. She stood up removing her on hood, most would think they were twins they quickly hugged before taking their seats.

"Elizabeth i've been waiting for months where have you been did something go wrong?" She expected to see a baby with her sister. She was due earlier this month and she no longer looked pregnant. "Where's the baby?"

"Veronica everything is fine we escaped my senile husband in one piece. Now i have a job for you one you must not fail our lives depend on it. Veronica's ears perked up hearing her sister sound so serious. "I need you to head to this orphanage" Elizabeth pulled out a paper with an address on it sliding it to her sister. "Watch over young Alexander, do anything you can to protect him." Seeing her sisters questioning frown Elizabeth continued. "Alex isn't safe with me he has a scent that one of my husband's guard dogs could track miles away. Only a humans abstract scent could throw it off and not even that is 100% trustworthy. That's why you'll be watching overt him protecting him from harm that's your main mission." Seeing Veronica nod Elizabeth flashed her a quick smile. "On the side i want to to start drawing in refugees from our world, we're gonna need an army if we want revenge for our brothers death." Anyone one around her could feel the fire Veronica could certainly feel it it burned inside her, she wanted revenge not only for her brother but for herself and her newly born child.

That was the last time Veronica would see Elizabeth for a long time. After explaining why Alex had to be raised by humans and getting Veronica's help Elizabeth left.

She had her own mission one that involved her son and his future.
