16 Assembly of gods (1)

"Waterflame, it is good to see you my friend!"

After Long He finished picking up his followers, he hurried to planet Ulliea to meet his ally, Uion. Uion wanted to know how Long He's preparations were going on.

"It's good to see you too, Uion," answered Long He. "It has been a long time!"

"Yes indeed!"

The two laughed and sat down at a table. Uion served the godly wine and the gods toasted each other.

"So tell me," said Uion while he took a sip from his cup, "How are your preparations going on?"

"They are good. Fifty demigods for now, each half is for a race," said Long He while refilling his empty cup.

"I hope that they are well chosen."

"From my perspective, they are. But they may not be from yours, or the others."

"As long that they can fight well in battle, then they are good."

Long He nodded and waited for Uion to continue, who said, "Then, I would like to gift you something."

Uion stood up and retrieved a wooden box from a nearby room. In the chest, dozens of weapons were stocked: swords, axes, bows, spears, shields, scimitars, and other great weapons.

"System," said Long He in his head, "What's the quality of these weapons?"

Ding.

[Host, these weapons vary between top-tier and middle-tier quality. There are water element weapons, as well as fire element.]

"You have already scanned these pieces with your system, didn't you?" asked Uion with a laugh.

"Yes I did," replied Long He while smiling, "Uion, I don't know how to thank you. To give these fine weapons as a gift is truly good of you."

"No need to thank me. After all, we are on the same side, and we share a common enemy."

"How come that they contain fire element weapons as well? Aren't you a sea god?"

"The fire ones were gifted to me by our ally, fire god Ulstus, many years ago. I didn't have much use of them, so I give them to you."

"And what if Ulstus found out that you gifted them to someone else? Wouldn't he be angry?"

"Ha ha ha. You must know that Ulstus is also a god of forgetfulness. I doubt that he remembers these weapons, and I also doubt if he remembers me."

"I see." The two gods then went into a deep silence, while only the sound of drinking wine was heard in the room. Finally, Long He cut the silence by saying, "Surely, you didn't summon me here just to give me the weapons."

"You are smart as always, my friend," said Uion. "Yes indeed, there is something else."

"What is it?"

"The battlefield of the war has been chosen. I have invited you here to study it and make tactics."

"What are we waiting for then? Let's go there."

Uion shook his head and said, "We aren't going anywhere. I have already scanned it and made a replica."

"And how are you going to show it?"

"Link your system to mine, and you will know the answer."

Long He looked at Uion strangely then said to the system, "System, can we do that?"

Ding.

[Yes. It costs some of the host's soul power to create the link.]

"How much?"

[Only 10% of soul power is required.]

"Do it then."

[Link is in progress. 10% of the host's soul power has been taken.]

After a quick moment, the notification ring of the system rang in Long He's head.

Ding.

[Host, the link with god Uion's system was made. The system requires you to close your eyes.]

Long He did as the system told, and instantly, he saw a vast battlefield in front of him. Uion was standing beside him. When he noticed Long He, he smiled.

"Welcome, Waterflame, to my own virtual world," said Uion then shifted his gaze from Long He to the field. "This is the place where we shall have war with Ilah."

The field was filled with green grass, with it being a square in the middle of a huge oak forest. The time in the virtual world was daytime, however, in the sky hovered several moons along with the sun.

"On which planet is it on?" asked Long He.

"This battlefield is on planet Ancient Oak Grove. The planet contains the most ancient oak trees in our world," answered Uion.

"It is a shame to destroy such a beautiful scene."

Uion nodded and said, "Let's wait for some time until our fellow gods arrive."

"The others are coming?"

"Yes. We need to make plans and discuss them, and this requires all of us to be here."

Long He nodded, but chose to stay silent. Four hours passed and no sign of any god was seen.

Finally, one god after another started to appear in Uion's virtual world. They greeted each other in a state of chaos that could not even happen with mortals.
