8 Affinity

The next day she got up all bouncy and cheerful. At first, she did not notice but then she was shocked that she could still feel such emotions after going through her previous life of being a top spy. She assumed it was because of the influence of this body.

It was also because of this that she may have easily accepted her father. She had not seen her mother for the last 6 months and hence did not feel any attachments towards her. But she did not care much as she always felt scared of her.

Anyway, with the maids showing her the direction, she reached the place where they would check her affinity again. There was a dome and she had to walk for a long time to reach there. The entrance to the doom had lots of beautiful landscaping done to give it a mysterious and grand feeling.

The dome was made of some special stone and it looked beautiful in the morning sun as if it was a delicious meal. Unknowingly she was drooling at the sight. The maids had become familiar with her over the past 6 months and they were no longer as reserved. They were snickering seeing her like this.

"Princess, you need to reach Sky-God Realm before you can change your size enough to eat it." One of the maids laughed.

Feng'er awkwardly cleaned off the drool and was in contemplation about why she was acting so strangely today. She could not figure it out and just sighed and laughed along with the maids as they made their way to the entrance of the dome.

But coming to the dome, she could not find any door leading inside. She turned to one of the maids and was about to ask what is going on when a few figures flashed and came in front of her. They were her father and her mother who she had not seen for the past 6 months.

There were also some men and women she had not seen before. They were all standing respectfully behind the Emperor. All of them were giving strong fluctuations of energy that was enough to make her suffocate.

"Feng'er these are the people in the palace you were asking about. They are the ministers and produces of the Empire. They usually spend their time in the different rooms and palaces I mentioned. They have come here especially to see if there are any changes in your affinity" her Father spoke as she saw her confused look.

"Greetings, Princess. It is good that you are healthy." The men and women spoke.

"Thank you" she replied politely.

She then turned and stared at her mother who seemed to have become weaker. She was not feeling the same level of danger as she did before, but at the same time, her mother felt much deeper like she had matured. There was a faint smile on her mother's face as well.

"Feng'er, this is the Spirit Affinity Stone. You just need to touch this stone and it will tell us what your affinity is. It is not a very rare stone, but you cannot find it everywhere. Only sects and major powers have it. Just put your hands on it. Go on," her father urged her and guided her.

She nodded and put up her hands on the dome. She did not feel anything unusual, but she was able to see that there was faint light white and blue colour forming near her hand and spreading out. There was also a single streak of black flowing out and gradually forming a complete round of the dome.

She had never seen anything like this and was marvelling at the wonders of nature in this place. While she was marvelling, she did not see the confused looks on the faces of the bystanders.

It was confirmed that her affinity was ice and it was strong. But they were not able to figure out the black streak. It was not the phenomenon formed for dark or yin yang. There were no other laws, powers or affinities that had a pure black phenomenon.

They looked at the Emperor and saw him smiling and heard him say, "Sure enough, it is a mutation, but it is minor and can be practically ignored. Her Ice Affinity has also increased, and it should be easier for her to reach her previous strength in less than 2 years."

The others nodded. Feng'er then took back her hand from the dome and turned to face the others. "Congratulations, Princess, your Ice affinity has increased, you will be able to advance much faster now," one of the men spoke, "let us bid you farewell, as we have a lot of work to do in these times."

Then the people left after giving her a curt nod. Soon, only her father, mother, the two guards that accompanied her father and her maids were left. After seeing that everyone had left, her mother gave a look to her father with a slight smile.

"Leave us alone" he commanded to the guards and the maids who promptly vanished from there.

"I will leave her in your care till she reaches Spirit Realm. Then I will personally train depending on the circumstances." Her mother spoke her father and then turned to look at Feng'er, "Feng'er, your journey will not be easy. I will make sure of that. I will train you personally but before that, you need to reach the Spirit Realm and be able to cross the space to leave this Plane. He will give you a token that will give you directions to me, and you will need to brave those dangers to reach me. You will understand at that time, why I am telling you all this when I am right in front of you. But, all that aside, first, you need to choose your Ice martial art skill. Ice is a Secondary Law, but it is as strong as a Fundamental Law. Do not think of it is weak or you will suffer."

Saying this she vanished. Feng'er did not even have a chance to speak and was standing there stunned. The Emperor was looking at the place where his wife stood not too long ago and gave a deep sigh and shook his head.

"That woman, sigh. Never mind her, she has been like that for a long time now, but she really cares about you. You should be happy that she has chosen to train you personally." He spoke and then he remembered some lies they had spoken and so he hastily said, "Although she is at the True God Realm only, she is very famous, and many Sky-God Realm experts are also willing to get guidance from her."
