Entrance Exams

Theo was quite confused by what he man meant when he said that Theo had come back, and what his duty was, but he couldn't think of that much as longer as the man started to talk about fighting techniques that Theo needed to pay attention to.

The man talked about a basic skill that allowed the user to absorb mana into their fists and attack with greater force. "First you must clench your fist and concentrate on imagining the mana in the atmosphere slowly being absorbed into your fist. Once you think the mana has been absorbed by your fist, you must not let go of concentration, or the mana will start to go back to nature. Keeping your concentration, put your correct foot forward and do a thrusting motion as you release your fist! This skill is called the Shock Fist, and remember, this is the most important thing; You let the fist do the work!" Said the man, as he released his fist, sending a big shock wave through the air.

Theo wanted to try this extremely bad. "I'm gonna go and check out the town, be back in a couple minutes." Theo said to Leon as he left out of the hotel. He didn't want Leon to suspect anything so he had to lie. Theo knew that there may come a time that he would have to reveal his ability to someone, but he wanted to stay on the low, at least for now.

"Okay, see ya." Leon said as he went to sleep. Theo went out of the hotel to find a place that was suitable enough to practice his abilities. He didn't think that he would find a place inside of the wall so he decided the head out into the woods to practice.

Leaving the barrier, Theo felt the same weird feeling, but he didn't pay any mind to it. Before Theo ran into the forest, he remembered what happened last time he did so. He learnt from his mistake because no one was going to come and save him this time so he decided to train right outside of the wall where there were no trees.

Theo opened to system menu and as he thought, there was a new tab. <Videos> Theo clicked the tab and there was 1 video, the one he had watched before. Theo played the video over and over again before trying it for the first time.

He closed his eyes and clenched his fist, concentrating on absorbing mana into his fist. Theo felt a warm feeling oozing into his fist that felt like it hardened at the middle of his palm. After it started to become pretty warm, Theo opened his eyes, slammed his left forward into the ground and hit the air with his right hand.

As his hand started to released a little bit of mana, it fizzled out before the climax of the punch. Theo did this again and again, concentrating high and low amounts of time. Trying different legs or fists, but in the end nothing seemed to work. Every time he got close to releasing the energy at the climax of the punch, it seemed to fizzle out.

After a couple of hours of practicing, Theo was worn out and went back to his room. It was around 3 am when he arrived, and he fell asleep immediately.

The next day came and it was time for the entrance exams. All of the students were brought out of their rooms and were put into bubbles again. These bubbles however were much bigger than the previous ones, being able to hold around 20 people at a time.

While loading into the bubble, Theo noticed some people. Glis Silandra was in his bubble in addition to a couple other people that looked to be of high status. 'Scan'.

'What!? Why can't I see his stats?' By the time he had scanned a couple of people, they had arrived to the academy. Theo knew to keep a close eye on the student named Spade. He also needed to level up faster to see more stats of people.

The academy was surrounded by another small metal gate but this time, the students were dropped off on the inside of the gate. The academy itself was large, it towered over any expectations that Theo had. It looked like a ginormous royal palace.

The students were dropped off next front entrance to the academy. There were about 300 students or so. Next to the school was a smaller building that looked to be a grand stage covered by curtains. As the last of the students arrived, the curtains slowly opened.

In the front, there was a man standing behind the podium. Behind him there was 4 seats. The man behind the podium was Yeno Greenhorn.

On the sides of the stage, people were standing facing the seats. They looked to be the teachers of the academy. It seemed that many people were present to see the entrance exam. To the side of the stage there was also a couple hundred people.

All of these people were unknown to Theo, it was all a bit overwhelming, but he knew how big of a deal this school was. "We will now introduce the grand spectors for this exam... First off, Arthur Evergarden from the grand Valhalla Kingdom!" Said Yeno.

'What!? Arthur?? What's he doing here?' As people started to cheer, Theo's father came and sat down on one of the seats. Seeing Theo confused as all hell, Arthur gave a little grin to.

'Why that old geezer, why didn't tell me that he was coming here??' Theo thought to himself.

"Next up! Zysrial Vondhaven from the grand Kyanthis Kingdom!" Yeno said yelled out into the crowd. Zysrial walked into the stage and sat down next to Arthur. Seeing his grin infuriated Theo. 'So that bastards here as well huh?'

Without wasting any time, Yeno called out the next person. "And now we move on to the Elven side of the spector! Introducing Elfas Yarlier of the grand Hephaestus kingdom! A man walked into the stage with an elegance that Theo had never seen before. His skin was pain as a ghost and he had long ears that went above his head. Elfas also wore a green and white robe around his shoulders. His body was slender but tall.

Theo immediately knew that Elfas was an elf. A mythical humanoid creature in many fables. Seeing this, Theo got an idea as to what was going on. Two kings of each race were going to see how the entrance exam takes place.

"Finally, introducing Elquin Vergeiros of the grand Gavenhooth kingdom!" More cheers were heard as a man that looked similar to the other elf but was a little shorter and had more muscle mass walked into the stage and sat down. Both elves happened to have pure white hair. The humans almost looked grizzly compared to the elves.

All of the students were just as surprised as Theo, but for completely different reasons. These people in front of them were absolutely royalty that reigned above all. To be able to even catch a glimpse of them was a monumental achievement.

"Now then! We shall begin your test! First we will judge whether you are fit to follow the path of Conjurer or Enhancer!" Said Yeno. He then started to give a brief explanation on what these paths exactly were.

After his explanation, a large crystal was brought in by a couple of people in front of the students. The crystal was the size of a bus flipped on its head and it was absolutely glorious. It shined and twinkled in every nook cranny. It was so shiny in fact, it felt like you could hear the tingles coming off of it.

The students were explained to put their hand on the crystal to rank their mana potencial. it didn't matter if you were Enhancer or Conjurer, everyone used mana in some sort of way. Conjurers manipulated mana to create magic to do their bidding while Enhancers absorbed mana to strength themselves.

One's mana potencial was how far that person could go in their lifetime when it came to strength. These potentials were easily seen in the aura of people by those strong enough to see it, but for those that haven't reached a high enough level to see the potential of someone with only their eye, a mana crystal was used.

There were 5 types of known mana potentials, each one having a different color that could be seen in ones aura. They came in the colors of Yellow, Green, Blue, Red, and Vermillion. Yellow being the lowest mana potencial and Vermillion being the highest.

Even though one could eventually go from a green to blue mana potential or blue to red, it was in very rare cases of extreme concentration, time and hard work.
