Getting a Garden

"This is getting boring Y'know?"

Yes, he was getting quite bored, he as been traveling through something that looked life a Sci-Fi movie space tunnel for a long time, he doesn't know why, but he does know that he died. He wasn't surprised by that since he actually killed himself, what he was surprised about was that after he died he appeared in completely black space, no light, no air, nothing, just him.

He stayed there for a short time when he comprehended something and after that, he started travelling on this multicolor space tunnel of sorts, completely confused.

"It's been what? 5 years since I entered this thing?"

It was then that he felt a slight pull and exited the tunnel. What greeted him wasn't hell nor heaven, not that he expected it anyway, but space.

Full of bright dots in every direction that he looked at and absolute silence.

"Wha-"

When he was going to ask what was happening some information entered his head. Finally everything that happened to him since he died made sense.

"So, I've been earned the right to be this universe's Truth? As expected of me."

If he was to categorize a universe right know he woud surely say that it was like an organism. It has no thoughts and acts on instinct. Of course, something like an universe is vastly different than an organism from where he came from, so its instinct are obviously different, yet they have the same goal, survive.

Like an animal from his Earth the objective of the universe is to survive, for this it needs protection, that's what a 'Truth' is for, to protect it. Someones worthiness to be a 'Truth' is determined by its talent, that was what the void he was before was for, to test his talent.

"So this universe is a different one from mine then. As I thought, the multiverse exists, come suck daddy now! I was right! You old foggeys should know, Grey is always right!"

Grey was laughing like a maniac, but even though he was like this he didn't stop analyzing his situation. He was the one with the highest IQ since the start of manking after all.

"It seems that as the Truth I can break the laws of physics even though I was just 'born', it's impossible to talk in space after all. Anyway, the first thing I should do is find the core of this universe."

Every universe had a core, his was obviously not an exception. The core is the place that distributes energy to every corner of the universe, the energies present at the core differed from universe to universe. His objetive right know was to know what kind of energy his had. Even though he was the 'Truth' he was only given general knowledge, the universe only had insticts after all, it was not rational.

He reached the core fairly quickly since he could just teleport throughout his universe, and boy was he surprised. By the word core he thought that maybe it would be something like a heart, yet it was similar to a nebula in appeareance, just a massive mass of energies.

"Wait, energies?!"

Grey made sure to check more carefully and he was right, there were multiple types of energies on the core.

Universes could be divided in different ranks, and by the amount of different energies present on his core he was sure that he became the 'Truth' of one of the highest ranked universes.

"I actually didn't expect to be this talented. Sure no one on Earth could even reach my feet, but to think that across the whole multiverse I am one the most talented... For sure my greatness knows no bounds!"

Just like his narcissism.

The first thing he had to do to actually connect with the universe was to connect with its core, it could also be called another test since if he failed to do so, he would just be demoted to a universe that ranked lower or outright erases. The energies of a core were no joke after all.

Grey slowly reached his hand forward till he was touched a big cluster of energy and closed his eyes, concentrating in his senses to connect with the core.

The process was by no means easy, even for someone like Grey, but still he was able to successfully connect with it. He didn't realize but he took a long time connecting to the core, a few decades for sure.

During that time, the universe started to change, the energies became richer and rulier, the core also started generating energy instead of just distributing it, making the energy density per volume increase even more even though the universe was expanding faster. This led to massive change in the universe, where celestial bodies were created a lot faster and frequently and became richer in energy.

"Now that this is done it's time to start protecting my garden."

Altough he called it his garden it is by no means as easy as to protect a garden. No even if you choose as reference the garden from a certain game with mutant plants and zombies.

There are a nearly infinite number of universes across the entire multiverse, it is obvious that universes would fight between each other.

That is what Grey needs to protect the universe from, invasions. 'Truths' more often fight than not between each other to get control of other universes, after all by forming connections with cores they would get stronger quickly, not only that be having an entire universe of resources was definitely good.

Having a universe like Grey's that has a big amount of different energies is surely something no one would want to miss, mostly when the universe's 'Truth' was just born.

Altough it would still take quite a lot of time for someone to notice Grey's garden, it definitely was not enough time to prepare to protect such a rich place.

Actually, it wouldn't be enough time normally. But for Grey, the most talented individual in the whole multiverse, it is a different story.

This marks the end of the first chapter. Actually I don't even know if I'm gonna write more but I'll try, I quite enjoyed writing it.

Anyway, I said the MC is someone with a high IQ but you shouldn know his IQ is limited by mine, so he won't always be smart but I'll try.

Also, I'm not native English speaker so it definitely as some errors but I'll try to get better along the way.
