220 Chapter 218: The Dangers Of Heroics Part 4

Arias, an imposing figure swathed in a suit of gleaming metal, towered over the macabre remnants of the Green Lantern. The grisly residue of his adversary's brain matter clung to his metallic hand, a chilling testament to the ferocity of their recent one-sided clash. His attention was abruptly seized by a sudden glimmer of light that twinkled from the gaping hole in the room—a stark reminder of Green Lantern's explosive entrance.

As Arias shifted his gaze towards the source of the light, a figure materialized before him with breathtaking speed. A clenched fist hovered menacingly inches from his face, poised to strike. But Arias was no ordinary foe. His hand shot up with a speed that belied his formidable size, intercepting the incoming blow and sending a shockwave rippling through the room.

The already compromised S.T.A.R. labs trembled under the force of their clash. Lights flickered erratically, casting eerie shadows as electric sparks danced in the air and debris rained down, adding to the apocalyptic tableau within.

Arias scrutinized his attacker, a hint of puzzlement creeping into his eyes beneath his helm. The force behind the punch had led him to expect a seasoned member of the Justice League. Instead, he found himself facing a young woman clad in a makeshift Superman-inspired costume, her identity concealed by nothing more than a ski mask.

"And who might you be?" Arias questioned, his voice echoing ominously in the damaged facility. But before she could respond, Arias launched a powerful punch to her gut.

"Uck!!"

She doubled over as if all the air had been sucked out of her lungs. Her body went limp as dust rose around them, and her cheap attire tore under the sheer force of his attack.

Arias casually removed her mask, revealing an unfamiliar face. She was indeed young, with unblemished Caucasian skin, bright blue eyes, and long, messy blonde hair. Intrigued by her identity, he leaned in closer.

"Your name, what is it?"

But instead of answering, she jolted her head up and locked eyes with Arias. Her eyes flashed a bright red, and two laser beams shot out towards Arias's helm. They bounced off harmlessly and ricocheted around the room, causing further damage to the already fragile facility.

Undeterred by her failed attack, she pursed her lips together and blew out a gust of frosty wind towards Arias, encasing him in a block of ice. But her efforts were in vain as Arias shattered the ice effortlessly and sent her flying into the debris with a casual slap.

Arias's grin was a chilling sight, hidden beneath the menacing shadow of his helmet. His amusement was palpable as he ruthlessly slammed her into the jagged rubble, each impact sending a spray of debris scattering across the room.

Each violent collision sent shockwaves of pain coursing through her body, her bones creaking ominously, and her organs quivering from the force. The pain was an alien sensation, one she had never experienced before.

'Why... why is he so powerful?' Her spirit was crushed more than her physical body as she was held aloft like a ragdoll in the iron grip of the man standing before her.

Her vision swam, gradually regaining focus, but her muscles felt like jelly, drained of their strength. She felt weak, her resolve wavering in the face of such overwhelming power.

Just when she thought she was on the brink of death, a blur of motion swept past, snatching her from Arias's grasp. It was Kid Flash, cradling her in his arms and preparing to make a swift exit, when...

crack

Arias's telekinetic force struck him down, shattering his ankle in an instant.

"Argh!  Dammit."  Kid Flash's mental plea for help echoed through the minds of his teammates, relayed by Miss Martian's telepathy.

But Arias wasn't about to let them regroup. He moved with a speed that even Kid Flash couldn't track, appearing before the young hero and tilting his head in contemplation.

"Ah, youth.  so full of energy. But you don't understand the dangers of playing hero," Arias mused. He reached out to grab Kid Flash by the hair, lifting his head slightly. In one swift motion, he raised his hand, and Kid Flash was lifted into the air as if he weighed nothing.

Before Kid Flash could comprehend what was happening, he was slammed down with bone-crushing force. His bones creaked ominously before snapping and piercing his organs. Blood filled his mouth, and he coughed violently.

His body went numb, and he could barely form words as he choked on his own blood.

Arias looked down at him with cold indifference before turning to the girl, who was frozen in shock.

"Do you see now? "How can someone so fragile fight crime?" His words were like ice, chilling her to the bone.

She took off from the ground in an attempt to escape, but Arias caught her mid-flight and slammed her back into the ground. "Why run?  Weren't you here to save others? Look at him; he's still breathing."

His words were twisted and cruel as he forced her to look at Kid Flash's broken body.

"How about this?" I'll take you with me and spare any more victims. "Or I could let you go and leave more bodies in my wake."

Tears welled up in her eyes as she bit her lip and closed her eyes to block out the sight of Kid Flash's battered body. The guilt was overwhelming, and she feared that more would suffer the same fate if she didn't agree.

"Fine…  "Please just stop," she whispered.
