Chapter 208: Unknown Part 2

Arias's lavish looking yacht docked at the metropolis harbor that evening. Its size alone was enough to draw attention at the public docks and so he chose to have it docked at a private area, popularly known for having exotic yachts belonging to the rich and wealthy.

Like many things in life, with enough money and connections, it was easy to do.

Despite docking during the earlier hours of that evening, Arias didn't exit until it became late at night. It was during this cover of night that he, Cheshire and Ivy made their way off the yacht and into the bustling night city.

And just like Ivy had mentioned earlier, it had indeed become a den for crime.

"Wow, it really has taken a page from the old Gotham." The trio stood atop the roof of a high building, observing the chaos below them for a moment.

"I told you it's gone to shit. Never thought a day would come where I'd prefer Gotham over Metropolis." Ivy added while shaking her head in disgust.

Not wanting to take part in the ongoing chaos, they moved via the rooftops, leaping from one building to another and scaling towers.

Before long, they arrived in an eerily quiet residential area. There, Arias took the liberty of counting some apartment buildings before stopping his gaze on the fifth one, "there."

Chesire and Ivy followed his gaze and saw the rundown building he was looking at. "This new member you mentioned lives in that dump?" Ivy narrowed her eyes and just couldn't imagine anyone credible staying there.

Arias gave her a side glance and tilted his head, "that's ironic coming from someone who stayed in the disease filled abandoned tunnels of Gotham."

"It was either that or Arkham, cause richboys like you just love to cut down forests to build things like these. I tear down a few for my babies and I'm suddenly a terrorist, that's what ironic."

"Is it really? Anyway, are you sure that building is as simple as you think?"

Changing the topic back to the building, or rather its uniqueness, Arias pointed toward the building they were standing on. "Cheshire, quickly do a quick sweep of this building's top floor."

"You got it boss." Without hesitation, Cheshire chimed under her mask and leaped off the roof, soon lunging onto a long set of stairs with incredible precision and without a sound.

She then snuck through a window, entering a regular bedroom. However, she immediately found it to be odd, 'doesn't smell like a grungy 1-star apartment.'

Exploring this point further, she went toward the door leading out of the one-bedroom apartment and immediately heard chatter coming from its hallways.

She placed her ear against the door and listened in, soon hearing an exchange between two adult males, the kind of conversation wouldn't expect from residents of such a building.

[ Any movements?]

[ No, none whatsoever, same results from watcher 3, 5 and 8. I'm starting to think this operation is a bust.]

[ It's not our place to question orders. We're to watch for a visual confirmation of the package and immediately contact HQ once we do.]

[ Yea well HQ has been a mess ever since Waller kicked the bucket.]

Having heard enough, Cheshire smirked under her mask and reached into her outfit before taking out a set of tiny greyish beads.

She then quickly opened the door and threw them at the feet of the two conversing men, causing a shroud of smoke to arise. Before they could even understand what was going on, she threw one of her knifes and pierced the man's throat before leaping onto the head of the other and snapping his head with her thighs, rotating downward in acrobatic motion as the smoke expanded.

Back on the roof, both Ivy and Arias could see thin strands of smoke emanating out of the nearest window. Before she could question this, Arias gave her an order. "Check the top floors of the other surrounding buildings and kill any suspicious looking individuals."

Ivy didn't much appreciate being ordered around but with no choice, she showed a displeased look and walked away to begin doing as Arias asked.

As for Cheshire, without needing to be told, she also began checking the other surrounding buildings, taking out any non-residents she found. In her mind, since she wasn't told not to kill, there was no need to hold back.

Ivy also used the chance as an opportunity to vent her anger, especially since her opponents were male. Unfortunately for them, it seemed they were not the least bit prepared for such an attack, with the only weapons at their disposal being pistols.

These didn't help them in the least as most were bound together by Ivy's vines before she ended their lives by secreting her toxic blood through her fingers and dripping it onto freshly made wounds.

Her victims faces contorted in pain as their veins became visible with a sickly green color. Within a minute's time, they died miserably with flowers blooming out of their mouths and eyes.

Cheshire was more clinical with her victims, ending their lives with quick strikes to the throat, the only mess being the blood they spewed out as they bled to death.

In less than 10 minutes, both returned to the rooftop Arias stood on.

"All done~" Cheshire happily chimed as she cleaned the blood off her knives by wiping it on her outfit. Ivy didn't say a word and just crossed her arms while looking forward at their target building.

"Good, then let's proceed. Cheshire, be on lookout for anymore unwanted individuals. And Ivy, cover the building's rear exit, just in case of anything."

Hearing these instructions, Ivy couldn't help but look concerned, "Is the person you're looking for some nut who'll attack on sight or what? Seems like a lot of eyes for some everyday criminal, especially federal eyes."

"I never said they were an everyday criminal now did I?"

A/N: Meh, not really feeling motivated this week. Low stones, lots to do, just meh. Enjoy. May go on a break starting tomorrow
