1 Prologue

Dragging a huge sack behind him, the cloaked figure huffs and puffs after only five minutes of struggle. He had stuff everything he owns into that sack and with haste tries to put it on his carriage which he had parked behind the tavern.

Looking up at the Sun that slowly begins to disappear behind the horizon, he drags the sack with even more vigor.

Reaching his carriage, another problem now appear. How is he going to lift the whole huge sack up? He looks toward outside the alley and sees the townsguard walking with spears in their arms.

After paying the guard with a bag full of gold coins, the cloaked figure immediately beckons his horse to pull the carriage quickly.

Racing through the city roads, sometimes even nearly crashing into people and other carriages, he finally arrives at the city gate. By the time he arrives there, the sun has disappear and the crystal lamps starts to lit up.

The cloaked figure becomes frantic as he didn't stop at get check by the city guards at the gate crashes his through the checkpoint. Many guards shouted for him to stop, some even already begin to point their spears and casting magic.

The man didn't give a care of the guards warning and just continue heading away from the town. Guards on horses begin to pursuit the carriage with their fireball spells ready at the tip of their spears.

The guards on horses gives out one last warning to the man on the carriage to stop. Once again, it is ignored. Finally, the fireballs shoots toward the carriage. However, just before it could turn the carriage to char, it bounces back and explodes on the dirt road.

It spooks the guards' horse and some of the guards even got knocked off their horses. The carriage manages to get away as the day finally fully turn to night.

The guards who are still fine on their horses wanted to continue the chase, however the sounds of the city's bell begin to ring behind them. Looking back at the city, all the guards could only stare with wide open eyes with their mouth wide open.

Above the sky of the city, swirling dark clouds begin to swirl and swirl as red lightning begin to flash the night sky in red. All the city folks could only look up at the sky with mouth wide open. No voice could be heard as everyone is stricken by fear.

Finally, the clouds part and something gigantic begin to emerge. Like a lotus' flower bud, it grows downward towards the city. Slowly, it begins to open its petals. However, instead of a beautiful flower blooming, countless tentacles emerge from within spreads towards the whole city.

The city folks finally begins to panic. Screams could be heard everywhere as people begin to frantically run away. The tentacle crashes down on the city and swings around. All manner of people and buildings flies up into the sky as the force of the tentacles picks up dust.

A single tentacle is already as thick as a house, with so many of them rampaging through the city in a matter of minutes, the city is no more. All of it are flatten and no more screams could be heard.

Faraway, on a hill looking over the destroyed city, the cloaked figure could only sigh in relief. He made it out alive with all his wealth on him.

"Just barely made it in time. I wish the Great Lord could've given me more time," he says under his breath.

"The ritual was already starting, I can't really delay anymore. They really wanted me destroy that city," from within the man's cloak, the black orb spoke back to the man.

"I know that, but still, giving me another hour couldn't be that hard?"

"You know I must agree with a majority vote, being fair is a must," the man could only sigh at the reply of his master.

"Fine. Whatever. Your Lordship must really take control over those lunatics."

"I've been trying to do that since the first time they heard of my name. None have ever been successful. They just get more crazy every time I do so," the orb could only sigh as well.

"Who would've ever thought that even a God could sigh?' The cloaked man smirks.
