4 Bargaining with Dorma..*cough* *cough* ... Mafl.

Once I got close Mafl lifted his hand and yellow light shone from his hand.

"Now we can talk like trade partners!" Mafl said and smiled then he added "You can now speak like you could in your past life."

So I tried to speak but it was little bit hard since I wasn't using my breath to make sillables so first I made some some undescribable sounds and after some practise I finnally say with big struggle"W..W..Why am I on e..e..equal terms as you? You are g..g..god!"

To that Mafl answered with smile "Because I'm speaking to future god!!"

I froze on spot and just said with mixed feelings of shock, happiness and horror "WHAT??" Mafl just smiled and I tried to calm myself and once I did I said "Ok, let's pretend this situation is real and I'm not in coma and under drugs in hospital. How would I become a god and why? I can't see a single reason to be so."

To that answer Mafl moved and first time from the moment I came to this temple I could see that roots inside his eye formed something resembling pupil. He fixed his eyes on me and said "You are wrong. You want to live and becoming a god is only way how to stop your soul from falling apart. No one has survived in soul form longer than one hundredth of his past lifetime and especially for you I can feel that you don't have much time left. If you become god you start to absorb power given to you through sacrifices and prayers and this will automatically strenghten you and besides magical power beyond imagination your soul will be automatically strenghtened so you will be constantly lenghten time after which you will die. Isn't this already enough for you to accept and besides who can say that he became a god?"

That startled me. His directness was just stunning. There was no hesitation or regrets in his words like he was looking forward me accepting his offer even though another god would mean possible future competitor for him. He didn't know me if I could betray him moment after he will give me godhood. (" But this is none of my concern and before I wake up from this dream I could enjoy it as much as I can.")So I said "I accept" and felt satisfied that I didn't failed pronounciation.

"Very well, let's get to work then. You don't know how you relieved me. Without you I could perish. You know, I used to be influencial but now most of my believers are dead and I don't think that all who remains won't be among living for long." I interrupted him. "Wait, you are low on power and yet you want to give your power away just to give me godhood?" It seemed that something was off.

Mafl seemed pleased. "Not exactly, don't worry, I want something in return but I'm happy that I didn't choose stupit and careless fool for this. What I want from you is to go into certain dimension and conquer it. Just become the only god in it and I will get share of power you gain every year."

I look at him with flash of idea and ask "Why giving godhood to me when you can do it yourself?" Mafl seemed to be little bit annoyed with my everlasting suspicion but answered calmly " I hoped that you will never ask but once you did lets get this over with. My ability in gaining new followers is as bad as it can be and even worse. Plus to that my personal aura is already known among other gods so once I enter world of other god he will already know and dispatch every fight-able creature to destroy my followers. You know, I'm not very popular among my kind. Now you know it. Happy that I had to confess to mere soul?" His last words had little of angry tone in them but he still seemed fine.

"Ok, thats enough for me. I will do what you want but one more question since you told me about your hostility with others of your kind. If other gods can sense your aura, won't your aura emanate from me because I will be made of power given by you?" I carefully said because I didn't know how Mafl will react. But his calm and little friendly tone relived me " Thanks for accepting my offer again even after reveal of my little secret. And for your question- No. They won't sense my aura fron you because you will be creating your own which will conceal mine and after some time mine will fade away and only yours remain."

"Ok, fine. Now lets discuss the terms like percentage of power I give to you and some guarantee that after I triumf over other gods you won't kill me and absorb all of power I have gadhered." Mafl looked displeased with fact that I won't let him dictate terms but he seemed that he got over it. "Fine, I will tell what I want and then we can discuss."

"First thing is that I demand 5% of your power every year and after you suceed and triumpf in your goal you will give me 10% of power you gathered through year. Second thing is that you won't use your powers to harm me and last and most important is that you won't betray me and won't serve another god. All clear?"

After that I thought to myself "Nice, I'm going to pledge loyality to my own dream" but I kept it for myself and said " I can't say anything against number three so be it but I want backdoor in number two in form of sentence If not attacked by you I won't harm you with my powers. And with number one I'm pretty displeased. The numbers are too high. Lets say 1% till I triumph and 5% then." Mafl seemed shocked. "What? One percent and then five? That is unacceptable!!!" and after few deep breaths added " but the rest of your terms are ok with me. You have give something in return if you want me to acxept your version of number one and I know what it will be..."

He took a small pause and said "I want you to give me option to draw up to 50% of all of your power in case of emergency." I complained "That is too much! It could kill me in wrong moment. Lower it on 25% and I will give you option to do it 3 times." Answer was simple " make it one third and I will give you my word I won't use all of the charges at once. That is my final word." I gave up and agreed because I knew this is the best I could get.

Mafl suddenly full of energy said "Lets make oaths on our souls and we can get to work. Just info for you, making oath on your soul means that once you break it your souls break apart and nothing can save you. Instant death." And so we swore what that I would get godhood and help from Mafl till I succeed of die trying to conquer world of Mafl choosing and I will fulfill things we just discussed. We said the words Mafl seemed very satisfied.

He stood up and "Now lets get to work. I think that you will need someone to be god to." after that he marched in the middle of the hall and created giant glowing pillar.
