4 Giant rat part 3
I was surprised when they handed me a small dagger , some leather boots and a small shield nothing to fancy but decent enough considering I was mostly hunting rats. The shield was made with oak with a leather strap for support and it had a sun painting the front. Fitting considering my power was light.
After receiving their gifts I thanked them before heading out once more.
Before I started hunting I decided to check my stats to see if adding equipment boosts your stats just like in those video games I used to play in my old life.

So the shield and the leather boots gave me a defense stat which could come in handy. And with the dagger it adds a small boost to my strength.
Instead of killing the small rats I decided to start my hunting with the bigger ones instead I ended up killing 30 level 2 rats and I gained 300 points. I decided to go even deeper in the forest and I came across a rat the size of a bulldog. It only took one hit with my dagger before dropping died I gained 15 exp. I kept going deeper until I came upon the largest rat I could find it was the size of my new dad who stood at 6"2'. I think this rat might be a level 20 rat. It might be on the final stage before it's evolution. Most monsters have a level 20 cap before evolving.
I attacked the front right leg before the giant rat could see me. The wound was a little shallow but it also got the beasts attention. The rat swung his front paw at me but I dodged it and managed to cut it's chest with another shallow cut. The rat hit me with it's tail which caused me to slam into a tree and caused me to lose 20 hp I did a quick healing spell before I charged up my light slash. I used my light slash to cut off the rats front left paw which weakened it further.
I got too cocky and let my guard down just enough for the rat to kick me in the chest causing me to throw up blood and losing 60 hp. It started to charge at me but with one of it's legs missing the rat was slowed down enough for me to cut it's head off using my light slash. I used most of my magic to heal myself. I only got 100 exp for the kill. and since it was the end of my hunt I decided to check my stats

I decided to drag the giant rat back home by its tail. As soon as I approached the town people started staring at me like I did something that was impossible. Apparently it was the only one of its kind in the area and there was a reward for the creature worth one gold piece. I kindly excepted he reward money before going home for the night. I needed the rest.
As soon as I got home my mom and dad asked how was your hunting. They also realized that I didn't carry a sac full of rats tonight. I explained that I killed a level 20 rat and showed them the reward money.
