21 21. Competition Day - Part 7

[Warning. Potentially disturbing chapter.]

"I guess it's your turn, Xiao Chang," Bai Chen said when Ding Huo finished speaking.

Bai Chang grinned and puffed out his chest, "It shouldn't take me that long to beat him big brother. Just watch," he said haughtily.

"Then go," Bai Chen dismiss him.

Bai Chang nodded his head and patted Bai Cong on his shoulder.

"Xiao Cong can learn a few things from my battle too," Bai Chang said.

Bai Cong snorted at Bai Chang with disdain.

Bai Chang didn't seem to have noticed Bai Cong's actions and jumped onto the stage with his sword drawn. A second later a stout boy appeared on the stage. His short, light-brown hair was matted on his head but it didn't diminish the ferocity of his brown eyes in the least.

Sensing the average the boy was emitting, Bai Chang turned serious. He gripped his sword tight and waited for Mang Huan to make the first move.

Mang Huan unsheathed a sword that was tied to his back and revealed a mighty heavy sword.

The blade was pure black but it reflected when the sun's rays hit the smooth material. The handle was less impressive with it only being wrapped in what seemed to be gray cloth. When Mang Huan Dropped it on the ground, it was so heavy that it made a slight dent on the Qi-infused ground.

"Now that is a heavy sword," Hong Ling said in amazement, "and such a young boy can wield it too. He's quite strong."

"Yes brother, I wonder how Bai Chang can deal with this," Hong Mian chuckled as she looked to the arena.

"Although it doesn't seem like it, my second brother is quite intelligent when he fights," Bai Cong put in a few good words about Bai Chang and left it at that.

"Yes, it's like he turns into a completely different person when he fights. It's quite intriguing," Bai Chen put in.

Up on the arena, Bai Chang watched with vigilance as Mang Huan picked up the heavy sword and laid it on his shoulder.

Bai Chang decided to drop his original plan of waiting for him to attack first and instead went on the offensive. 'His movements must be slow because of that sword so all I have to do is get close to him fast enough to land a blow,' Bai Chang thought to himself.

Bai Chang thrust his sword into Mang Huan side but was blocked by the heavy sword. Not wanting to give Mang Huan a chance to counterattack against him, Bai Chang quickly jumped back and steadied his body.

Mang Huan growled and ran up to him as he swung his sword. Bai Chang ducked just in time but the sword moved fast enough to cut a bit of Bai Chang's hair. Rolling away, Bai Chang stood up and threw his caution into the wind. He quickly moved to Mang Huan and stabbed into his side.

Mang Huan, seeing him coming, swung his sword down but Bai Chang twisted his body in such a way that he narrowly avoided the blade.

With no obstacles in his way, Bai Chang stabbed the sword into Mang Huan side. Caught by surprise, Mang Huan didn't react until he felt pain at his sides as the sword slid into his body which made his already tired body, lose strength immediately. His heavy sword slipped out of his hand and fell to the floor with a loud thud. Then he himself fell down to a kneeling position with Bai Chang's sword still embedded into his body.

Bai Chang then pulled out the sword and moved back, The blood that was blocked by the sword

was now gushing out.

"Give up," Bai Chang said as he walked to face Mang Huan who was still kneeling on the ground. From a spectators standpoint, it looked like Mang Huan was kneeling down to Bai Chang.

Filled with anger, and humiliation, Mang Huan didn't open his mouth to announce his defeat.

"So be it," Bai Chang sneered. He raised his silver sword and stabbed into Mang Huan's body once more. But this assault was aimed at his other side.

Mang Huan groaned in pain when he felt the sword dig into his body.

"How tenacious," Bai Chen commented as he watched Mang Huan withstand the stabbing that was being administered to his bloody body.

Bai Cong nodded his head in agreement.

Bai Chang kept stabbing the sword into Mang Huan's body and didn't relent a bit.

"Why. Won't. You. Give. Up," Bai Chang growled, "You already lost. Why don't you just save us all from having to look at your sorry state and give up."

Mang Huan felt his conscience blacken bit by bit as he lost a lot of blood.

At the bottom of the arena, the overseer for the orange arena was watching the fight lazily.

"Aren't going to stop him," a man standing next to the overseer asked.

"The kid's avoiding his vital areas so it won't kill him. Furthermore, with the amount of blood he's losing, he'll faint soon anyway. I'll just get him then," the overseer waved the man off and continued to watch the fight.

Just as the overseer had said, Mang Huan finally fainted from the pain and blood loss. He was carried off the stage after Bai Chang was announced the victor.

Bai Chang jumped off the stage and ran over to Bai Chen and Bai Cong with a smile etched on his face.

"You were being quite excessive," Bai Chen said when Bai Chang walked over.

Bai Chang rolled his eyes, "I did tell him to quit. It's his fault for not doing it," he said.

Bai Cong looked at the bloody stage and then back at Bai Chang. 'Indeed, second brother turns into another person when he fights,' he thought to himself.

"I never knew you could be so bloody," Hong Ling cut in.

Bai Chang shrugged his shoulders, "I just feel different when I fight."
