I Am The Principal

"Devon Smith, Miles Baxon, David Beckham, Mia Nolen, Janette Miesa! Come to my office right now!"

BOOM! CRASH!

A loud female voice sounded over the academy's siren. It wasn't commanding or harsh rather sweet and calm but it could send shivers down your spine. The voice belonged to Miss Béli Brimestone. No one knew why they were afraid of her;they were just afraid. She was actually the principal of the academy; the Time Academy. No one had seen her before except a few. Not even the tutors but once you heard her voice over the siren, calling your name, you instantly know you are doomed. No one had ever entered her office and come out smiling before. It is either a panicked expression or a frightened expression with a few sobs. They had also heard stories of how ferocious she is to even make a Diamond Rank beast burst its bladder in front of her. No one knew what kind of affinity she was possessed or the cultivation technique she used but they could tell she was damn strong.

When Devon and Miles heard the announcement, they abandoned their meal and ran like hell from the cafeteria to the principal's office. Devon and Miles were both in 1st year at the academy. The academy was actually a mage school. Those in first year were either newly awakened or yet-to-awaken. Most of the students in the class who had awakened were those from the big families or the rich families. Time Academy was one of the great schools in the city of San. It was ranked 2nd and had four of the Zodiacs in the city. Only a few from the commoners' side had managed to awaken.

The way to awaken was actually simple but dangerous and costly. One could die or be crippled forever if an awakening fails. Only a few manage to survive without any side effects and can attempt again. Everyone had an affinity or affinities but it they were locked and the only way to unlock them was by using a special kind of key. They were called Awakening Stones. The stones contained mysterious powers which helped to break the seal on one's affinity and helped them awaken. Plus they were not specific on affinities. They could work on all manner of affinities. At most, an awakening stone could be used by two people but the power will be reduced they awaken.

If one person used an Awakening Stone, he or she would awaken an affinity with high potential than two people using an Awakening Stone may awaken a 50-50 or 60-40 potential. The shared awakening is not advisable but for commoners, that is the only way they could awaken because they couldn't afford Awakening Stones. An Awakening Stone can be sold as high as 1000 gold.

For the dangerous part, an awakening can fail. The mysterious energy is a double edged sword, it can deem you worthless or powerful. Awakening Stones are that expensive because of how they are gotten which no one knows except for the higher ups.

Devon and Miles were not awakened but they could be considered strong, witnessing the speed at which they were moving to get to the principal's office. Devon was from a family of commoners. He lived with his mother who was bedridden by a strange illness and a couple and their child. The couple actually took care of him and his mother as his mother had been of help to them some time ago.

Devon was a handsome boy. He was 6'1 with a slim build. He had short, messy dark red hair with green tips, an angular face, tanned skin and green eyes. Miles was 5'9 with an average build and white skim. He had short white hair that was combed backwards, bright red eyes and a perfect angular face. The difference was, Miles was a rich kid. He was the first son of the Lord of the Baxon family, the 2nd big and powerful family in New Gassendi.

Devon's guardians couldn't afford an Awakening Stone and Miles was considered trash as all Awakening Stones used on him failed. The sad part was, they didn't even activate when he touched them. They were just useless around him or vice versa. That's why they hadn't awakened. There was another way to awaken though, but it's more dangerous than the Awakening Stone; awakening by fusion. The fusion was done by absorbing either the body of a beast or the beast's crystal. It was very dangerous because the dead beast can take over your body, mutating you or you may die. Only few had been successful. In fact, only two of the Zodiacs had had a successful Beast Awakening since the introduction of that method.

For the record, Devon was a nerd and Miles was the cool, classy type. No one knew how they became friends but the harm had been done. Even they looked slightly alike if you ignore the glasses on Devon.

...

"Huff! Huff! We are finally here. Looks like she's not around." Miles said. "Yeah! Huff! Huff! I think there's someone here." Devon replied. "He looks familiar." "Hey guys! Long time no see." The familiar guy said. He had short, purple hair, blue eyes and chiseled face. He was fair skinned and had a slightly muscular stature. He was tall and more manly than Devon and Miles even though they had similar ages. David Beckham, the familiar guy, was 18 years same as Devon with Miles been the younger at 17.

"Who are you?" Miles asked suspiciously. "You don't remember me? Your best buddy?" David asked. "Naa." Devon and Miles said in unison. "The most handsome boy in school?" David probed. "You? I thought that was supposed to be Miles." Devon said. "David Beckham? Ring a bell?" "Oooo. That guy? Now I remember. Ain't it little winkie?" Devon said with a smirk. "Yeah. That's why he looked so familiar." Miles added. "Will you stop calling me that name?!" David exclaimed. Veins were already popping in his head. These were still the same, always pissing him off. He was stronger than them, seriously. "Oh! Little winkie is getting angry. Miles please can you stop?" "I will stop my little winkie. Granny will stop." Miles said pinching David's cheeks, one of the many places he adored on his body. "I'm gonna kill you guys for this!" As he said this, his aura burst forward but it was extinguished as quickly as it lighted by another one: a stronger one.

"No fighting in my office!" A female voice said commandingly. They turned towards the voice and saw the last people they ever dreamed of seeing; Miss Matilda and the two most beautiful girls among the 1st years.

"Mi….miss Matilda???" "This is your office?" "But I thought this was for the principal, Miss Béli." The boys said at the same time with surprise and doubt on their faces. Even the girls had blank faces as they couldn't understand what was going on. "Hahaha." Miss Matilda laughed causing her mountainous D-cups to bounce like basketballs. The boys could feel their noses heating up. "I am the principal; Miss Béli."

CRASH! BOOM! BANG!

Devon and Miles were on their knees trembling. David's face looked uglier than the cheese in the diary of the "Diary Of A Wimpy Kid." The girls looked at the principal with wide eyes like they had just swallowed the biggest cucumbers in the world. What the fuck was going on?! The nicest and kindest tutor in the Time Academy turned out to be the most feared person in the academy. What kind of shit was this?!
