2 Rich Rewards and the First Mission

Max rubbed his hands with an excited face knowing that he will get good rewards from the system so he didn't hesitate anymore: "Claim!"

The cold voice of the system sounded in his mind double times, although Max was quite puzzled about his last reward he still followed what the system said.

'Inventory.' He said in his mind.

An inventory that looks similar in the game in his previous life appeared in front of him. He saw his rewards and didn't hesitate to control his thoughts to check them.

Soul Bound - Ability to bound someone's soul by dropping their blood, then a connection will be sent and they must not resist otherwise the Soul Bound will not work. Once bound, they will forever be under the control of the owner and his/her worlds will become the rules of bounded souls.

Soul Absorption - Those who are bounded will have a special power that can automatically absorb the soul of any creatures they killed and will be sent back to the orb, in exchange the 1/10 of the soul will be given back to the killer to strengthen themselves.

Soul Bounder Expansion - The owner must use souls to upgrade the Orb of Soul in order to increase the capacity to bound souls of the living creatures.

When Max saw the description of the Orb of Soul he was very speechless and he couldn't help but cursed, "Fuck!"

Such an overpowered artifact makes him utterly speechless and felt he doesn't need to move his hands and feet to get resources. His subordinates will find it for him, after all, according to the Orb of Soul that bounded creatures his words are the rules.

Suddenly, a robotic voice sounded in his mind.

[Ding! Do you wish to activate the Orb of Soul?]

Max also didn't hesitate and immediately activated it. Then, the Orb of Soul disappeared in the inventory and appeared on his hand.

The Orb of Soul looks pretty ordinary just like a circle, however, he thinks it hasn't absorbed a soul yet so it looks plain, and also he suddenly felt a connection with the orb and can even make it disappear.

"Disappear!" Max said while looking at the Orb of Soul, just like what he thought it disappeared and he checked his inventory but found out it wasn't there.

"System, where did my Orb of Soul go?" Max asked the system in his mind with curiosity.

[It entered your consciousness and since you are still an ordinary person, you cannot enter your consciousness so please work hard, Host.]

The system replied coldly while also not forgetting to motivate Max to work hard which made him laugh a bit.

After thinking for a second he threw all his thoughts about the soul and started to check his rewards.

As he expected the Soul Devourer Technique is about absorbing souls to make his practice faster. What's even more interesting is that this technique can also link with the Orb of Soul.

So which means those remaining souls in the Orb, he can choose whether to use it to expand the limit to bound creatures or use it to promote himself.

Of course, after learning the Soul Devourer Technique with the help of System, there are actually ten floors, and each floor has skills in it. And the power to devour the soul was actually just the core power of it.

However, in order to get the skills, he also needs a lot of souls to claim it.

"Isn't this forcing me to kill a lot of people?" Max thought with a smile on his face as if killing doesn't matter to him.

After he was done experimenting with the Soul Devourer Technique, he checked the Assassination Scroll and saw that it's actually about making a person instantly gains the skills of assassination (Rare).

There are only three skills [Backstab], [Shadow Meld], [Blink].

As the name meant, Backstab can almost instantly kill a rank Uncommon creature despite being an ordinary person as long as they are not vigilant.

(Power levels: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Mythical, Legendary, Immortal, ??. Once reaching Rare there will be sub-rank low, middle, high.)

After thinking for a while, Max knew that he can now create five loyal assassins as his subordinate. Although the skills are quite overpowered in the early ranks, it will become useless later but he believes that it's enough to dominate this planet.

Max shook his head and stopped thinking about it knowing he is still an ordinary person. He will have to look for loyal subordinates later so he didn't hesitate to check his last reward.

Shadow Creature - An extremely rare species that live in the Abyss realm, they are one of the must-have right hand among powerful forces.

[Ding! Do you wish to summon the Shadow Creature?]

Hearing this, Max did not hesitate and immediately summoned it and he also felt curious about this creature.

A dark mist suddenly appeared out of nowhere in his room making him remember the horror movies on the graveyard.

Then, a wonderful scene appeared in front of him, the black mist slowly formed into a human form until after a minute, a human shadow was formed under his watchful eyes.

"Amazing! My system is really powerful." Max muttered to himself while watching the Shadow in front of him who is now kneeling.

Then, he heard a voice in his mind that is neither man nor woman, "Thank you for creating me, Master."

"Oh?"Max was quite surprised when he heard the voice of the Shadow in front of him but what made him very surprised is about the word 'creating'.

A smile appeared on his face while watching the Shadow up and down as if being satisfied with his creation.

"Interesting, the system actually tampered his memories making me the creator. Not bad." Max said in his mind then spoke to the Shadow, "Stand up. Tell me what can you do."

Shadow stood up and slightly bowed and replied, "I can summon a clone similar to myself with their own consciousness but because I am still weak I can only summon one clone for now."

"That's it?" Max said with dissatisfaction on his face. Then the Shadow nodded to Max confirming that's his only skill.

Suddenly, a flash of light appeared on Max's face, and thought, "No! This kind of skill is actually very powerful and since Shadow didn't say there are expiration and limitation then wouldn't he have such men controlling every branch once I opened an assassin organization?!"

Thinking about it, his breathing became rough, and excitement appeared on his face. There are actually many uses of Shadow's skill and he felt ashamed about his dissatisfaction earlier.

Then he looked at Shadow again with satisfaction on his face and said, "Then you will be my first subordinate. What's your name?"

"I don't have a name, Master. Can you name me?" Shadow replied somewhat excited in Max's mind.

Max nodded and said, "Then I'll call you Shadow since that's the most suitable for you.", he continued, "You can't become a human right? Do you have a way to hide from the eyes of other people?"

Shadow nodded then disappeared, however, there is actually a strange shadow behind Max's.

'It's indeed quite powerful.' Max thought while looking at the shadow.

Max looked at the clock on the wall and found out it's still in the afternoon, he decided to take time to go out and also try to find some reliable subordinates.

He stood up and walks towards the mirror and fixed his hairstyle before leaving. However, before reaching the doorknob the familiar cold voice sounded on his mind again.

[Ding! You received a mission.]

A panel appeared in front of him.
