92 Chapter 92. Bodies retrieved

Rumble!

The cloud of fog slowly separated as it formed into a large straight line in the middle of the camp. Splitting the Lapis forces, leaving the majority of the soldiers to fight behind in the outer layers of the camp with the beasts that ran out of the wall of fog. While the rest of the Lapis soldiers, including Tyson and the generals were all forced to the front facing off against Nazar, the generals and the main Ruby army.

"Commander! This is not good! We are only around a ten thousand men and the rest of our forces are on the other side of the fog," Zane reported with a stiff expression.

Hearing this, Tyson's face turned extremely ugly as he realized how bleak the situation was for them.

It was ten thousand versus seven hundred thousand. How were they going to pull this off?

Step! Step!

Huff... Puff...

Leo took a series of deep breaths as he looked at the scene in front of him.

Thousands of beasts were scattered around the battlefield, each with cultivation of refinement realm ranging from stage one to stage seven.

"This must be the Frost King's scepter," Leo commented as he remembered reading of a legendary scepter that was able to seal up to a million beasts inside itself. There couldn't be any other possible question as to how this was possible.

Sigh...

'I've just arrived I'm already going to need to use an upgrade,' Leo thoughts solemnly as he remembered what the bird had told him. He needed to find Garrick's body as soon as possible and the fastest way was to use it.

'I'm going to have to change up David's aksi a bit,' Leo thought placed one foot back and prepared to dash forward.

His mind quickly ran as he processed how to run the energy in his mind so that it would not need a weapon.

While he was doing this he subconsciously raised his left hand outward onto his left, the joint of his thumb being pressed down by his middle finger. On the other hand he had the axe out in front of him, it pointing straight towards the Ruby camp as it glowed brightly when placed in that certain direction.

Crack! Boom!

Killing intent exploded as Leo's black cloak immediately began pulsing with a dark red glow as the ground where he was standing immediately shattered and he began to move at an unimaginable speed quickly speeding past countless animals and beasts who were fighting against countless soldiers.

"Take me there," Leo emotionlessly spoke to the axe as he travelled past, everything around him becoming blurry due to his extremely fast speed.

He ran straight into the fog which was so thick that even the glowing axe in front of his was blurry but that did not stop him as a few seconds later, Leo had made it past the hundred meter thick fog, creating an open tunnel through the fog that was quickly covered again as he looked back.

As he passed the fog, he could now see what had happened. Countless dead bodies of Ruby soldiers were scattered through the scene and about a kilometer in front of him, Leo could see a Lapis unit that was surrounded by countless Ruby soldiers.

'Their luck seems to have run out,' Leo thought as he felt pity for the Lapis soldier.

But seeing the large number of soldiers there, Leo took a diversion as going straight through would cause unnecessary attention upon himself. He dashed around the camp and approached the backlines from the left.

After passing a kilometer in slightly more than a dozen seconds Leo saw a familiar silhouette of a person as it was sent crashing into a large rock, immediately shattering it.

On the other end was a middle-aged man with bold brown hair, on his face was an cold expression as he walked towards the rock.

"Ugh..." Wenella weakly moaned in pain as she slowly moved her hand and tried to force herself to get up.

"I'm done hurting you now. I need to save you for later," Xander coldly commented as he stared at Wenella with his lustful eyes.

"But I'm not do-"

Just as Wenella to rush forward and attack him again, her legs suddenly grew weak as she fell to the floor. Her whole body became numb as she lost control of her body and could not move even a finger.

"Haha! What was that you were about to say? You must be confused," Xander laughed as he found it funny how Wenella's speech was suddenly cut short, "My sword's blade is equipped with a poison that weakens the victim and leaves them unconscious for a day."

Hearing this, Wenella's mind grew wild as she desperately tried to move her body but it did not help. Her eyes slowly closed as her vision grew black and she passed out.

"Haha! By the time you wake up, the Ruby army would've won the war and who knows what we must have done to you," Xander coldly spoked as he was ten meters away from her.

As he walked towards her, his body suddenly stopped as a man suddenly appeared right on her body.

Confused, Xander rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn't seeing things but the man was still there. Dressed in a dark glowing black cloak with an axe in his hand.

An intense feeling of uneasiness shot through Xander's body as he recognized the axe. It was the axe that caused him so much trouble and humiliation. Along with that, he was still confused on how that man had gotten to the body without him noticing at all. Teleportation?

"Do not come within five meters of me," Leo's voice coldly spoke as he placed Wenella on his back and pulled out a piece of cloth and tied her onto him.

"You dare to take my prize and even threaten me?" Xander angrily spoke as he approached Leo.

But as he took a step inside the five meter zone, an overwhelming weight fell on him as he felt his whole body slow down. His mind almost being attacked by his own thoughts as he could feel the thick killing intent that the emanating from Leo's body.

Slowly Leo turned around and looked at him with a cold look in his eyes as he spoke, "I will come back for you."

And the Leo disappeared again as he dashed deeper into the Ruby lines.

It did not take long as he found Garrick's body a few minutes later. His body was in an extremely weak state as all the fat and muscles seemed to have disappeared from his body, making him looks like a skeleton as he laid there lifelessly.

An intense burst of guilt struck Leo as he laid there, if it weren't for the axe and Garrick's unique background then he would've died.

"I'm sorry for being so late, brother," Leo spoke as he took the axe and placed it in Garrick's hands. Immediately, as Leo made the axe fall into Garrick's grip, it immediately dimmed down as the energy suddenly flowed into Garrick's body and countless streaks of purple and orange began to appear as they flowed and split up following Garrick's vein structure. And as the energy completed a whole circuit around Garrick's body, Garrick's complexion began to become more alive as it changed from its pale sheet of paper like color.

Not having any time to spare, Leo immediately rushed back. "If I am to fight in this war, then what am I fighting for?" he asked himself as he sped past the battlefield.

As he dashed past the countless tents, he took a piece of paper from one of the tents and wrote a note on it and place it in Wenella's hand. He quickly made back to the tree where he dropped off Wenella on top of Mars who did not expect it at all.

"I'm going to have to rush this even more," Leo spoke to himself and he then brought out his right thumb and looked at it unhappily.

"Desperate times call for desperate measures," he convinced himself as he cracked his thumb.

Boom! Immediately, Leo's speed doubled as he crossed a kilometer in thirty seconds.

"Tyson, you are known as the Lapis Kingdom's strongest person who is not from the royal family yet you are not holding up so well against these beasts," Nazar mocked as he laughed heartily, taking pleasure in seeing the Ruby soldier and the beasts fighting against the Lapis soldiers who were slowly decreasing in number as they were overwhelmed by the mass attacks.

"Tch," Tyson stared at Nazar with rage and anger as he listened to the cries of the Lapis soldier as he mauled through another beast. He was not being hurt much but the soldiers around him were not as strong as him and they were slowly dying one by one. The situation was slowly growing more and more bleaker for them.

"Argh!" Zane loudly screamed in pain as he was struck down by a large bear that was about twice as big as him. His hand was bitten off by the bear and blood was pouring out of the his arm as he fell and held his missing arm with an extremely pained expression on his face.

"Zane!" Tyson loudly shouted in rage as he saw Zane get his head clearly chomped off by the bear.

"Nooo!" Tyson's eyes turned bloodshot as rage filled him as his killing intent escaped as he stared at Nazar coldly, "You bastard!"

Immediately, Tyson charged forward, not caring for anything with his heavy two-handed sword while Nazar looked at him with a mocking look on his face.

"That's not very nice," Nazar spoke as his expression turned cold and he tapped on the scepter twice.

Suddenly, a light blue fog seeped out from the scepter and formed behind Nazar. And a loud deafening roar of two polar bears sounded as they appeared from the fog.

"Mere animals will not be enough to protect you!" Tyson shouted as he charged forward. But suddenly the expression on his face changed into one of fear.

Chomp!

Tyson was sent falling onto the floor as one of his arm and one of his legs were bitten off by the bears. He did not expect in his wildest dreams that those bears would be at stage three origin realm.

Disbelief and shock appeared on his face as he looked at his missing limbs in disbelief. How did this happen? Why did this happen? He had severely underestimated the strength of these beasts.

"Go and apologize to all the soldiers that you sent to death in hell," Nazar playfully spoke with a cold smile.

"Commander! I am out of energy," the red-haired general spoke as he looked extremely tired. He had infused all of his energy stores to summon all these beasts that were out on the battlefield.

"Damn it! Call Xander! This is not enough! Rest up and call Xander," Nazar commanded immediately.

The red-haired general immediately nodded and turned around to go and find Xander but luckily for him, Xander appeared walking towards them.

"Xander, where's the woman you were capturing?" the general asked curiously.

Xander expression grew difficult as he took a big gulp, "She was taken by someone who was stronger than me. He appeared out of nowhere and he had the beast's axe."

Hearing this, even Nazar's expression grew slightly disturbed for a few seconds but then he shook it off as he called Xander to place his hands on the scepter.

A few meters in front of them was Tyson who had overheard their conversation, he immediately realized it was Wenella.

'I hope your leader can really do something to change the situation if he is really as strong as you say he is,' he prayed in his mind as he laid there hopeless, trying to recover.
