90 Chapter 90. Tribulation is passed

As he turned around Leo saw his mother, brightly smiling at him as she walked over to him right next to him.

"What are you doing, my boy?" Ava asked with a smile as she reached out her hand and caringly stroked Leo's face.

"Mom!" Leo pushed his head deeper into her arms as he enjoyed the touch of his her hand.

"I don't know who I am. I keep losing control of my emotions," Leo cried in frustration as tears slowly fell from his eyes.

"Don't cry, Leo. You asked me and your dad to help you didn't you?" Ava suddenly asked as she consolingly patted Leo's head lovingly.

"Huh?" Leo asked curiously as he raised his head, what was she talking about.

"Your mom is always here for you," Ava spoke as she smiled at him, leaving Leo more and more confused.

"How do I do this mom?" Leo asked as he slowly calmed down and stopped moving.

"Life is filled with illusions, Leo," Ava began speaking spoke, "Everyone starts off as a seed that is placed in a field by a sower. And the seed will grow how the owner has raised it."

Leo's body suddenly stopped as his brain began thinking as Ava continued again, "You need to control your thoughts Leo. Evil is existent everywhere in this world. Everyone craves for power but some lose themselves in their craving for power, just like how you did back there."

"What about the people that deserve it?"

"There are people that deserve it, but not all of them do. Do you know the urges that you felt before?" Ava suddenly spoke with a disappointed tone.

Hearing this, Leo was suddenly filled with extreme grief again, "I made a big mistake."

"You did make a big mistake. But it was not one that cannot be undone. You need to train your heart my son. I'm glad that you still had a shred of sanity left inside you otherwise I wouldn't be able to talk to you," Ava suddenly smiled lovingly as she ran her hand down Leo's face.

"Mother, what should I do? I don't want to hurt innocents," Leo pleaded.

"You will not be able to do this in one day, Leo." Ava spoke as she took a step back.

"Haha! I can't believe you actually went for this," Reon's loud laughter sounded from right behind her.

"Dad?" Leo immediately turned his head and looked as amazement appeared on his face. He saw his dad appear right behind his mom, hugging her as his placed his chin on her shoulder, staring at Leo with a loving look as he smiled.

"Without anger, there is no hatred, once you let anger get to you, everyone becomes your enemies," Reon spoke as he displayed his fatherly knowledge.

Leo looked at Reon understandingly as he realized what he had done and how he had made such a rash decision.

"You little dumdum," Reon laughed as he looked at Leo with a 'it's ok' expression, "Remember our clan's motto: 'Roam shackled.' Nothing in this world can stop an Areia from doing what they want. If the heavens don't let you in, make your own paradise."

"That's all I can do for you, Leo," Ava ended Reon's motivational speech as she walked to Leo and hugged him for one last time, "I love you."

"Take care of Lex, Leo! I'm expecting a child from Aurora soon," Reon's voice suddenly spoke out from behind Ava as they were disappearing.

Suddenly, Leo mind was brought back to sanity as the black energy suddenly stopped moving up her body.

"Give me your body," the voice coldly spoke as it realized Leo's sudden clearness of mind.

"You're really annoying..." Leo smiled suddenly as he stared back at the darkness coldly.

Immediately, Leo began moving, "I will roam unshackled," he mumbled to himself as the weapons and chains suddenly cracked.

"Nooo!" the voice shouted in panic.

Crash!

Immediately, all four chains broke apart as Leo pulled out each and every weapon that was on his body, no blood pouring out.

"Nooooo!" the voice screamed one last time as it faded and the black energy and the shadow disappeared.

Boom!

The ground shook with immense anger as a series of earthquakes occurred from Mt. Ketumati spanning across to the other mountains in the range as the clouds were dyed red with a dangerous intent.

Countless, howls of fear could be heard from the beasts in the forest down below. But suddenly, crackle!

A large crackling sounded, not of lightning but more like an egg hatching. The red killing intent-filled energy in the mountains suddenly turned calm as the rumbling of thunder and the winds all calmed down.

The scene on the mountains had taken a huge turn, the killing intent in the scene was still evident and had grown even stronger but now it had an element of calm as Leo's red-coated silhouette began excreting calm wave-like streaks of red instead of those red uncontrolled sparks.

Suddenly, all the red intent that was coating everything in the peak was all sucked into Leo's body as his body slowly appeared as the red energy was sucked into his left chest and it then traveled to his fingers and then disappeared there.

His hair had still stayed the same but each of the tips of his hair had turned black and his eyes had a gradient of black and gold, enhancing his good looks as he slowly opened his eyes and an extremely sad expression on his face.

"Mom... Dad... Thank you," Leo spoke as he bowed to the air once to show his thanks. He realized that he was back and began to check out what was new about his body. He found that his body had considerable changes. He felt full of energy and found that he had broken straight through to origin realm. He then quickly ran around his Nether Mansion to check out what was different. He found out that the number of pods in the impartation hallway had increased from four to sixteen. And just as he was about to continue exploring...

Boom!

A large boom sounded as the mountains suddenly shook, alerting Leo and bringing him back to reality.

"There seems to be something fishy going on," Leo thought as he quickly made his way down to check on what was happening.

A strange occurrence was happening as Leo descended below the clouds. The beasts all seemed to behave irregularly. Leo could see that they were all gathering in a small opening in a cave that was a kilometer under from where he currently was.

Leo dashed to the cave and found that the beasts did not respond by attacking once he got close to them. Confused by this, Leo walked closer to them and inspected them. There was a big change and their pupils were all shaded with an interesting color that looked like a sunset. Growing even more curious, Leo ventured deeper into the cave and ended up in a large room with a stone altar on it. The most eye-catching part about this room was that there was a series of etches on the walls that he was extremely familiar with, it was written in the same language as the etchings on Garrick's axe. Shock appeared on Leo's face when he saw that there was a large writing on a wall, "Ayauitl ka semikak iuan in youali kuautli's notsa kiakochilistlis" which translated to, "Darkness is eternal and the night eagle's call will wake it."

With the inclusion of 'Darkness,' Leo immediately realized that this room was linked to Garrick and his bloodline.

"Interesting..." Leo spoke as he chanted the words on the wall.

"Help..." a faint voice sounded, beckoning to Leo.

Suddenly alerted, Leo turned around and saw that a large bird was down on the ground, seemingly weak as if it was about to die of old age. It was a Lapis Nighthawk, that was very tall, about five meters tall with a fifteen meter wingspan.

"Are you the one calling out to me?" Leo asked curiously as he walked over to the bird.

"The master of this place is weak... You were able to read the words and not get attacked... you need to go and save the master quickly," the hawk weakly spoke as it looked to Leo with extremely pleading eyes.

Suddenly, Leo got an extremely bad sense of foreboding, the master... It couldn't possibly be Garrick, right?

"Go and bring back master. Bring his body here with the axe, I will wait here," the hawk spoke as it turned it's head towards the entrance, encouraging Leo make his way out of the cave.

Immediately, Leo realized that this was was indeed related to Garrick.

'If he said that master was weak, that must mean something happened to them right?' Leo as he panicked and immediately bolted out of the cave and dashed for the battlefield in the early morning.

Mars was sent flying into skies as his body flew past the Ruby frontlines and he crashed in the Lapis side of no man's land with a loud thud. Filled with worry and panic, he immediately dashed to the Lapis frontlines.

"Shouldn't they be back by now?" Wenella asked worriedly as she looked off into the oppositions direction.

"Have patience, they were expected to take an hour longer," Tyson assured as he also waited there patiently.

"Look! I see something!" Vanessa spoke as she pointed towards the battlefield, Mars came running towards them at an extremely fast speed.

"Mars!" Wenella cried out as she ran to him.

He had a few injuries and was badly beaten, it was easy to tell that he was on his last legs.

"Wenella..." Mars spoke as he fell on her.

"Move out of the way!" Wenella shouted as she ran to the meeting room with Mars who had fallen in her arms and Vanessa and Tyson and the generals all followed her into the tent.

"Vanessa!" Wenella called out to her as she took the axe from Mars' hands and Vanessa immediately began tending to Mars with first aid Not wasting any time, Tyson immediately began questioning him, "What happened?"

Ugh! Mars coughed out a mouthful of blood as Vanessa tended to him and he weakly answered, "They were... expecting us... there."

After saying this, Mars immediately, reached for his pocket as he brought out a note and handed it to Tyson.

Shock appeared on his face as he read this, but just as he was about to ask a question Wenella quickly cut in a her aura grew wild, "Where. Is. Garrick?"

Hearing her question, Mars' face immediately turned sad as he looked at Wenella and slowly spoke, "Garrick was caught, I caught up to him to save him but the generals and the commander of the Ruby army cut us off. We had to fight them off but we eventually got cornered and Garrick somehow unlocked some strange power and threw me here out of there with his axe."

Hearing this, Wenella's face instantly turned into anger as she stare at the commander with extreme rage, "You bastard."

Hearing this, Tyson did not take it well at all as his face immediately turned angry. But reading the note, he was forced to take blow as he commanded, "Tell all the men that we are attacking tomorrow morning."

Boom!

An explosion of killing intent erupted from Wenella, scaring everyone as she stared at the commander and the generals, "You better hope that he is still alive. Otherwise, even if the Lapis Kingdom does win, our leader will end this kingdom."

After saying this she called out to Vanessa and left with Mars.

"Commander," one of the generals spoke out as he was clearly intimidated by the killing intent that Wenella had just shown.

"What do you have to say? Don't tell me you were scared by that?" Tyson mocked the man.

"There has been a rumor going on that George, the leader of the Darkness party, some one who is only a stage weaker than me was defeated by their leader with a single punch," the general spoke slowly.

"Rumors are rumors! You dare question the safety of my arms?" Tyson raged as he pulled out a chair and sat down forcefully, frustrated with how Wenella had dared to treat him.

"Commander, might I ask what was in the note?" Zane asked.

"We will win the war tomorrow. It turns out that the scepter was just a hoax to scared us to give them time to gather reinforcements."
