80 Chapter 80. Wenella vs Mars

Step... Step... Step...

Wenella and Sword master walked out onto an open dark grassy field free from Vanessa and Garrick as they stood about fifteen meters from each other.

"I hear that you often fight with your sword. Are you not going to use it?" the sword master spoke out after he realized that Wenella did not have her hand on her sword.

"I will but only if you use your sword," Aurora replied as she kept her eyes on the sheathed sword that was hanging on the sword master's black leather belt.

"Haha! You aren't worthy enough for me to unsheathe my sword. You must prove your worth," he arrogantly replied as he laughed at Aurora.

"Let's begin then, I won't use my sword yet as well then," Aurora casually replied as she got into a battle stance.

"You are courting your own death!" The swords master roared as he charged forward and struck a refinement energy filled punch toward Wenella.

Seeing this, Wenella immediately responded by gathering her aura on her arm as she prepared to cancel out the sword master's attack.

"Take this!" he roared as he punched forward and Aurora responded with the same move and a small gust of wind blew around them as the two began exchanging punches.

"Amazing! Look, each punch seemed to be pulling the wind around it?"

"It's not often that we get to witness such high refinement realm cultivators fight,"

"They are just testing each other first,"

Whispers immediately broke out as the spectating rankers watched in full interest as they soaked all the occurrences in the battle to memory.

"Tch!" the sword master's expression got slightly more serious as he had realized that he might have underestimated his opponent.

"I might have underestimated you. Be prepared, my next attack will not be that easy to cancel out!" he warned as the aura around him began to change and visible electric blue chains of sparks appeared all around him and they slowly wiggled their way like worms onto his right arm.

Bzz! Bzz! Crackle!

"Hehehe! It's not so nice now is it? It's a black ranked art called Broken Blitz," he arrogantly spoke as he looked at Wenella, expecting her to see a feared expression on her face.

"Now that's more like it, but you still haven't taken your sword out yet," Wenella replied somewhat slightly but more satisfied than before.

"But it looks like I have to resort to the sword a bit earlier than expected," she spoke as she let out a heavy sigh and took out Leo's sword. She then closed her eyes as she directed her earth energy onto the sword, causing it to pule with a fluorescent green color.

"Haha! Are you already using your sword?" the sword master mockingly laughed as he thought that Aurora was now running out of cards to play.

"Come and see," Wenella spoke as she took a battle stance as she prepared her sword to receive the sword master's black ranked art punch.

Crackle swoosh!

The sword master dashed forward, leaving an afterimage as he quickly approached Aurora.

"Take this! Broken Blitz!" he shouted as he punched at Wenella and a large electric ray of bright blue lightning attacked her.

Wenella did not say anything, instead, she walked forward, brought up her sword and performed a horizontal slash upwards as the lightning struck the sword.

Boom!

A large crackling boom resounded as a small crater around ten meters formed.

The attack of the lightning was not to be underestimated but the slash was not to be underestimated either. It cleanly struck the lightning, slicing it in half and moving towards the Sword Master, forcing him to jump backwards.

But before he could make it to the ground Wenella suddenly appeared next to him and she swung her sword again, doing the same attack. At a distance this close, there was almost no retreat for the man unless he brought out his sword.

"Are we going to witness it?"

"Is he finally going to take his legendary sword out?"

Screech!

The sword had been taken out of its sheath, revealing it's beautifully crafted smooth sharp silver body with intricate geometric lines coursing all round it.

Swoosh! Ring!

A loud sharp screeching sounded as Wenella's sword struck the sword master's sword.

The expression on the Sword master was extremely ugly, not only had he been neutralized but he was also forced to bring out his sword. Realizing how the situation had gone, he needed to regain his reputation. Slowly his hand arrived on his sword handle as he grasped it tightly, immediately all the discussion stopped and all of the spectators had their eyes on him.

"No one has lived to tell about their experiences about my sword," he arrogantly warned Wenella.

"Well there's a first time for everything right?" Wenella calmly replied as she completely ignored his arrogant threat.

"Let me tell you now, this is not going to end well for you, you had the chance to escape before but not it's too late," the sword master replied as he revealed an confident smile smile.

"Ok, come let's see your strongest attack, you talk too much," Wenella spoke in a bored expression.

"Purple rank, Lightning Dragon Arc!" as he said the name of the art. The aura in the air immediately became tense and heavy as a small cloud of about ten meters descended from above him onto the ground, forming a dense fog around him. Sparks began appearing, slowly turning into glowing dark blue lightning that lit up the field. Suddenly, all the energy in the cloud and the cloud itself suddenly shrunk and covered the sword that he was holding.

"Take this!" he spoke as he raised his sword which was currently pulsing with an electric blue as small sparks escaped from its surface. He then struck down his sword creating a huge explosion of lightning as a large overbearing twenty meter vertical slash arc appeared descending on to Wenella.

"Tch!" Wenella smirked as she threw her sword to the ground.

"Look! She threw her sword to the ground!"

"She's give up! That art's too strong!"

"I was expecting slightly more..." Wenella commented in a volume that everyone in the field was able to hear. Immediately that ground began to glow green as long strands of earth and wind energy began to fly towards her in an instant. As the energy touched her, they all spread around her as the green energy formed an archer's bow from pure energy and a dark green glowing arrow formed.

"This art is called Amazon's call, it's also a purple ranked art," Wenella spoke with a cold smile as she pulled the bow back. Immediately, the wind seemed to form a horizontal vortex behind the arrow.

Boom!

A large sonic boom sounded as Wenella let go of the string. The wind's screamed loudly as it charge to the lightning arc at almost inhumane speeds.

Kaboom!

A large explosion happened as both energies clashed causing a huge crevice of fifty meters appeared at the place where it landed. Rocks sprayed everywhere in a very messy manner as everyone retreated to the edge to tent to protect themselves from the incoming attacks and both attacks cancelled out and faded while sweeping up a huge dust cloud of dirt..

"Is that it? That's all you can do?" Wenella's voice sounded as she walked out of the dust cloud, unscathed by the previous attack.

"Ho-how?!" the sword master was amazed as he mouth went agape from what he had just witnessed. How is this possible? She is a whole stage under me so how could this happen?

"Confused?" Wenella mockingly asked as she laughed, "Did you think that my main strength was in swords?"

"I am an archer," Wenella spoke out as she began to circulate the art again. An overbearing dark green energy began emanating from her, "I'll admit it that I would've lost you if we fought two months ago but my mercenary leader helped me improve my mastery in this art so... too bad."

Sword master's expression was now one of awe and respect, the aura emitted from her was giving him a more dangerous and life threatening feeling, he immediately knew that if she wanted to, she could kill him if she will it but she had not done so yet.

'What is this feeling? Why is that art making me feel threatened?' his thoughts were in disarray.

"I think this would mean I've won, right? I'm not an unreasonable person, you fought well," Aurora suddenly asked as she complimented him, confirming the sword master's speculations that she did not want to kill.

"You're willing to let me go after attempting to kill you?" the sword master asked in confusion as he looked at Aurora in surprise.

"Yep, you gave me an entertaining fight and you are not an unreasonable person. Just let me and 'Lord of farming' go now and we can call it a day and be friends," Aurora suggested.

"Then I thank you for giving me another chance at life, you have won and I will honor our deal, let us be friends, my name is Mars Dalim, from the Raijin sect, head of the Sword Party" the sword master replied as he gave Aurora a respectful bow.

"Nice to meet you! I'm Wenella , feel free to come and visit us," Aurora replied with a bow as she stopped her art and walked towards Garrick who was spectating the fight from afar, resting on a tree.

"I knew you'd win, thanks for helping me out," Garrick happily spoke as he carried Vanessa and they made their way to Wenella.

"Come on, let's get you guys back safely," said Wenella as she helped Garrick with Vanessa as they turned and prepared to walk off.

"Wait a minute," a voice called out.
