60 Chapter 60. Ugly situation

Panicked, Lex immediately looked at Aurora with a pleading expression.

But before Aurora could respond, a blinding red pillar of light fell from the sky and landed on Leila, and Lex who could not escape in time.

As the light crashed into the ground, everything that was happening seemed to stop as Leila's screaming ended, the lightning in the sky quietened, the cloud slowly cleared up.

The pillar of light once it crashed down, took fifteen seconds to clear up and dissipated into the air, leaving the two kids there.

"Lex! Leila!" Aurora immediately screamed as she ran towards them.

And as she got closer to them, she received a huge shock when she clearly saw what was in front of her.

Both of them had gone through some weird transformation. A layer of black and red feathers seemed to be covering Leila like a cocoon that was cold to the touch. She tried to move the feathers but they would not budge so she turned to Lex.

Lex was in a less majestic state and he could be seen, his hair had completely turned bright electric yellow and there seemed to be a dark black aura covering him as his energy pathways and organs began to be infested with some weird dark energy.

And his body seemed to be in a pitiful state as the skin on his body was completely burned from the red light that descended.

To her relief, upon closer inspection, Aurora found that Lex's organs were not harmed much and that gave her a huge sigh of relief.

The man who had previously just informed them about Drexler's identity walked out.

"Who are you?" Aurora cautiously asked as the situation had just turned dangerous and more disadvantageous.

"I'm the sect leader of this sect, Yuhen Jim," the man introduced himself.

"Move I am going to kill him," Aurora coldly spoke as she stood up and turned her body towards Drexler.

The ground began shaking as the whole cultivation of Aurora was released.

"Ho-how can this be? You are clearly a teenager. How can you release this type of energy?" the sect leader spoke in shock.

"You are clearly a refinement realm cultivator. But if you think that you can harm my sect then think again," the Sect leader spoke with an evil grin on his face as he unleashed his cultivation of refinement stage seven and took out a badge.

"Activate!"

Immediately, the badge began glowing and its body slowly turned into a blinding white light.

"Oh no! Not good" Aurora immediately sensed a couple of refinement realm auras that were quickly closing in.

"You called?" an old man appeared next to Yuhen along with eight others in a few seconds. Each wearing extremely glorious golden robes and a weapon strapped on their backs.

"What is going on here?" one of the men spoke out.

"Sorry for forcing you all here, elders but the sect is in trouble," said the sect leader as he pointed towards Aurora.

"I don't have time to explain the whole story, my little brother is badly hurt. I need to heal him immediately. But I will say this, that disciple named Drexler must die. Because of him, my friends here have gotten hurt,"

"Madam, I don't think truly you know about the strength of Drexler's identity yet. Please refrain from acting. If you kill him, the sect will be pressured by the royal family," an elder spoke out, trying to settle this issue peacefully.

"Then, I apologize for what will happen, I may not be able to stop you guys but I can make you regret this," Aurora coldly spoke as she made a series of hand seals and a large green mist began escaping from her hand.

"Then you force us to turn towards action," Yuhen spoke as he and the elders all released their energy. completely outpowering Aurora's in every way.

'This is not looking good at all,' Aurora thought as she immediately began formulating a plan to escape.

"If you kill the boy, your sect will no longer exist," Aurora threatened.

"Haha! False words have no weight in this part of the world," the sect leader roared in arrogance and he sent a punch of energy towards Aurora. But this was easily dodged by Aurora who was preparing to counter until a voice suddenly broke the silence.

"Princess!"

A silhouette of a woman appeared on the horizon as she dashed towards Leila.

The woman was dressed in a black skin-tight outfit which gave off a dark majestic aura. Her face could only be described as extremely pretty. Her silky smooth black hair flowed with the wind as she dashed and her beautiful black eyes seemed fixed inside the dome as she radiated holy dark energy.

'That aura is exactly the same as Leila's when I checked up on her. They must be related,' Aurora thought as she stood in the lady's path, stopping her advance.

"Let me through," the lady spoke out coldly as she looked at Aurora.

Aurora replied, "Wait a moment. Lady, I need to keep them safe at the moment. These people here are not going to let them off. My little brother is stuck in there too."

Hearing this, the lady turned towards Lex and her face instantly turned sour and she froze for a few seconds. She then turned towards the sect leader and the elders who were standing behind him.

"Hey! I don't care who is the leader here! I am going to take this girl and the two kids inside the dome. You better not stop me!" the lady coldly shouted as she released the cultivation of stage six refinement realm.

"I see! This is where you got your courage from. Being a stage six at such an age, you indeed deserve to be arrogant but don't think we will let you take them!" the sect leader spoke out.

And immediately all of the elders and the sect leader charged forward and began to exchange moves.

The strength of the female elder, Aurora, and the mysterious lady was not to be understated. The two ladies moved silently and continuously dodging each attack that was sent towards them but receiving some hits. And alongside her was Aurora who continuously retreated while protecting Lex and Leila.

Unable to dodge some due to the difference in cultivation, Aurora was forced to take some hit, and soon they had exchanged about a hundred moves.

"Sect leader, we end it now! They can't keep going. Let us all strike at once," an elder suggested with a smile on his face.

"I agree. Sect leader, let's end it now," another elder agreed.

Hearing this, the sect leader's face smiled and nodded to the rest and they all retreated into a straight line as they began lining up their strongest arts to finish the trio off. A large golden holy energy ball began forming and it quickly grew in size to a basketball and continued growing.

"This is not good!" Laura's master worriedly spoke.

"Take the kids and my disciple, the two kids, and get out of here. I will keep them busy," she informed the two behind her.

"No, we can all retreat," Aurora spoke as she began making a series of hand seals.

"There's no hope, what are you trying to do?" Laura's master asked.

"Take out the sect members. That will force them to tend to the sect," Aurora replied as she lifted her hands and a large murky green mist began spraying out from her sleeves, coating the whole area.

"No! Don't do that! It won't be effective!" Laura's master screamed upon seeing the color of the mist but she was too late.

The fog did not stop the sect leader and his elders at all. Yuhen scoffed, "Haha! That fog won't work. Your poison is only at a primitive level. All disciples' robes come with a basic defense against that."

"Prepare to die," he informed as all the elders and himself began releasing the energy ball which had grown to the size of a large house.
