58 Chapter 58. Lion hall elder

Silence once again filled the crowd.

Amazing! Unbelievable!

This was a six-year-old kid who was at gathering realm and he managed to beat a sixteen-year-old who was at condensing realm.

Where did this kid come from? How could he be this strong? He sent a condensing realm expert who was ranked second strongest in the sect flying in one hit.

"Oh… I didn't think that I would get such a clean hit on you that easily," Lex's disappointed voice spoke, "Hey hey, get up. Now you should be more ready for it."

"You little!" Drexler's enraged voice shouted from the other end of the arena as he jumped up to his feet, his face as ugly as ever as he unleashed all of his energy.

"How dare you attack me in such a shameless way!" he shouted furiously.

"Um, well… If I didn't attack you first then you probably wouldn't take me seriously," Lex spoke innocently while scratching his head.

"Take this!" Drexler shouted as a golden flame enveloped his leg.

Golden Lions kick!

Lex immediately stopped talking and started circulating his energy. Streaks of red and black began forming around his arm as he raised it vertically and prepared to use his hand like a sword and began to radiate overwhelming oppressive energy.

Silent Slash!

A strong golden flamed kick met a silent dark chopping slash of an arm.

Boom!

A huge explosion occurred in the arena. As a multitude of monstrous shockwaves was radiated as black energy and golden yellow energy met violently.

The arena walls began to crack up more and even it's outer walls showed a large crack and some parts began to crumble as another large dust cloud that was five times the size of the previous one formed.

Silence…

For a whole minute, all that was heard was the sound of people coughing and walls crumbling. After that initial monstrous exchange, there were no additional shockwaves and everyone in the crowd knew what this meant. It meant that both arts were equal in strength and the exchange had ended in a draw.

They were waiting for the whole dust cloud to dissipate to determine the winner but suddenly a huge shoosh sounded as all the dust began to get swept upwards and disappeared into the sky.

Immediately seeing the cloud disappear, the crowd anxiously looked at the arena and were filled with shock.

The only word that they filled their heads was 'confusion' as the arena field was completely destroyed as cracks filled the ground like spider webs and countless holes appeared on the ground as pieces of rock were uprooted.

Lex was standing straight, he did not seem to be hurt at all and there was an extremely satisfied expression on his face but he had moved back about five steps back.

And on the other end, Drexler was also standing straight but he was in a slightly more miserable state. His face was filled with disbelief and confusion.

Cough!

Suddenly, he fell on one knee and coughed out a mouthful of blood. While he looked like he was not harmed at all on the surface. His inner organs seemed to have suffered from the art that Lex had just used.

"Umm… I didn't mean for this to happen, that art carries an invisible vibration attack that attacks your inner organs," Lex suddenly spoke as he looked at Drexler apologetically, "Sorry."

Suddenly an intense barrage of energy crashed right in front of Lex, causing him to retreat a few himself from Drexler.

A middle-aged man with an extremely cautious expression on his face and wearing golden robes appeared standing next to Drexler.

And upon seeing this man, every sect disciple immediately bowed and paid their respects.

"Greetings to the Lion hall elder!" they chanted in unison with clasped hands as they quickly realized that the situation had escalated drastically.

"Boy! What is your intention in coming here?" he cautiously asked.

"Who are you?" Lex asked confusedly.

"I am Drexler's master, Lerum," the elder spoke out coldly.

"Ok. I see. Well, I guess then this means that I win the fight. Honor your end of the deal. Tell me what happened to that girl's parents," Lex understandingly spoke as looked to the man.

"You!"

Just before the sect leader could reply, a shadow of a middle-aged woman dashed into the arena straight at Laura who was now able to sit up. She arrived before Laura and checked up on her.

"I'm so sorry that I didn't make it earlier," she previously apologized as she saw the extent of Laura's injuries.

"I'm fine now," Laura forgivingly replied with a simple smile.

"I'll make sure we get an answer for this," she told Laura as stood up and made her way to the arena floor and walked to Lex.

"Thank you for saving my disciple's life," the woman spoke out warmly and gave Lex a bow of respect, and thanks.

She then turned to the elder and shouted, "You corrupted idiot! What Drexler did to my disciple was against the rules of the sect but you still let it happen! But when this boy beats Drexler, you immediately stop the fight. Explain yourself!?"

"Sheila! You are an elder of this sect! How dare you side with the common enemy!" the elder replied with no sign of explaining himself.

"If you hadn't distracted me and kept me busy from coming here then maybe I would be on your side," the woman angrily mocked in reply.

"Wait," Lex's unmatured voice spoke out, interrupting the argument between the two.

"Elder, I have a question for you. Do you think commoners' lives are at the disposal of nobles?" Lex asked.

"Yes. Commoners are puny worthless people who are born to serve and obey us nobles," Drexler suddenly spoke out.

"I see… Well then I am going to have to kill you then," Lex replied nonchalantly. He then turned to the elder and warned, "if you are going to still shield him then I will know how you are going to answer the question."

"Hi, Drexler was it?" Lex said as he mocked Drexler while slowly walking closer to him, "Before I kill you, I would like to know something. What did you do to the village girl's parents?"

Drexler suddenly shuddered in fear as he screamed at the elder, "You! Protect me! My family will give you anything you want. You will be heavily rewarded. We will get you a low tier origin sword!"

That seemed to convince the elder. As Lex was approaching Drexler, he walked forward and stood in Lex's way, stopping him.

"Boy, I am impressed with your strength. But you don't have the ability to make me worry," the sect leader spoke coldly as he suddenly swung a hook at Lex.

"Oh no you don't," the female elder's voice sounded and she also appeared before the elder and sent a punch back in his direction.

But the difference in strength between a stage six refinement expert and a stage five refinement expert was quite a difference-maker and so, the woman was sent a few meters back from the short and quick exchange.

Knowing that the situation wasn't good, she immediately looked back at Lex and told him, "Little boy, take my disciple and run from here. We are no match for him. He is a stage above me."

However, to her utter despair, Lex simply stood there for a few seconds lifelessly before suddenly replying "No. There's no need."

"Huh?" the woman was shot with confusion as she could not understand Lex. Is this boy alright? Can he not see the situation in front of him? There was no way that he could fight against someone who was two realms above him so why did he disagree so blatantly.

Lex did not even bother to answer the elder and slowly panned his face towards the sect leader and coldly spoke, "Now I know your answer. I am disappointed. You are filled with greed to a dangerous extent. Looks like this sect elder like you cannot continue with such a role."

"Haha! Who are you to decide the fate of my sect? You and your puny cultivation of gathering realm cannot harm me. Killing you is as easy as squashing an ant," the sect leader ridiculed Lex.

"Oh, nice reply. It's very poetic… I know one as well. Here let me tell you," Lex spoke with an evil grin of confidence and mocking.

Lex brought out a sword and immediately took a stabbing stance as he infused energy into the sword.

Immediately, the sword's body became illusory as it became black and countless yellow sparks filled the sword. The energy in the arena became deathly quiet and calm and the skies seemed to sparkle as yellow streaks began to form on the sword.

The sect leader's senses suddenly shot up in alarm as his body instantly felt something dangerous about to approach him.

"Begone with the thunderclap," Lex spoke as he charged forward at the speed of lightning.

David's aksi: Thunderflash!
