41 Chapter 41. News spreads fast

Even since the affinity ceremony day, Eupheme had been missing from the city and had not been to the Weaver clan. Instead, he had quickly traveled to a small town that was a branch of the Iudex Sect to contact his master and inform him about a pink grade talent that had appeared with seven affinities. The whole journey to and fro had taken him about two days in total. Once he had made it back to the city, it was lunchtime and he decided to dine at an inn.

The inn was extremely packed as middle-aged men flooded in from the entrance as they happily ate together. And as they happily munched their food, they all seemed to be talking about a

"Did you hear about the duel?" a man who sat on a table next to Eupheme eagerly asked a man next to him.

"You think I'm a block of wood? Of course, I have. I don't think that there is a soul in this city that hasn't heard of it," the man replied with an 'are you serious' expression.

"Do you know what happened that day?" the man asked with a smirk as he looked at the other.

"Of course! My cousin has a friend that was there. He told me that the duel was agreed between the eldest son of the Weaver clan head and a boy from the Decan clan," the man replied confidently.

"Haha! Your cousin's friend must have been watching it with his face," the man who asked the question laughed mockingly as he spoke, "let me tell you, the fighters in the duel are going to be the eldest young master of the Weaver clan and the boy from the Decan clan who rejected the affinity test a few days ago."

"What?! That boy?! What was his name?"

"I think it was Leon something. His surname was not Decan," another man added as he join the conversation.

Initially, hearing the men talk about this Eupheme was quite dismissive and ignorant of the men's conversation but after hearing Leo's name included, his attention and focus was immediately tugged. He stood forward and walked to the men.

"You guys are talking about the duel? I would like to know more about it," Eupheme asked as he looked towards the men.

"Join us then! I was personally there to witness the whole thing, you will not get any truer information about it from anyone else," the arrogant man who made fun of the others spoke out as he pointed towards an empty seat on the table.

Once Eupheme had sat down, the man began to explain, "it all happened two days ago. I was walking down the Decan clan road to go to work but when I was there I saw that the Weaver clan head and the elders had gathered there. The clan head demanded that they give an explanation for the injury of his son but the Decan clan head refused. But just as they were about to argue, that Leon kid butted in and provoked the Weaver clan head. And since it would be appropriate for an adult to hit a man, his son came out and challenged that boy to a duel."

"What were the duel's terms?" Eupheme curiously asked as he leaned closer to the table.

"The terms were that if the young master wins, then the Decan clan will need to give a proper explanation and that boy will be a slave of the Weaver clan. And if Leon wins, then the Weaver clan will not bother the Decan clan for the next six years," the man replied as he puffed out his chest in pride, extremely proud of his knowledge about the event.

"I understand, well thanks for the information. I'll leave you, men, to it," Eupheme spoke as he thanked the men and walked out heading straight for the Weaver clan.

Deep inside the Weaver clan, lay Wade's estate and in the courtyard there, Dan was sitting under a tree with his chest heavily bandaged while he looked at his brother, Acul, who was holding a light sword and practicing his swordsmanship. He danced gracefully with the wind as he performed a set of moves.

"You are still as impressive as ever, elder brother!" Dan praised as he keenly concentrated on Acul's sword.

"This is something you will one day reach, our Weaver clan's wind swordsmanship is a top grade black rank art. Once it is mastered, all other black rank arts can be ignored and overpowered. I am currently at the middle stage mastery," Acul replied as he pitifully looked at his brother, "if only that boy had not harmed you. How could you possibly lose to a boy at that age? You are almost double of his age and you still got yourself hurt to such a degree."

"It wasn't my fault brother, that boy had some special attack and he kept on dodging all my attacks. I couldn't land a single hit on him," Dan panicked as he searched for an excuse to explain his loss.

"Young masters," Eupheme's voice sounded from the entrance as he walked into the courtyard.

"Eupheme! Just who I was looking for! I wanted to ask you about that boy. We all both almost similar ages and Wallace told me that you have a certain interest with that boy. I want you to tell me whatever information you have on him," Acul spoke out happily as he temporarily stopped his training.

"There is not much to say about him, young master. I can confirm that he has the strength to take down gathering realm cultivators very easily. He has a very unpredictable personality. And he also has a lot of secrets, I think it would be best to fight with extreme caution, that boy is not as simple as he looks, I think that he is the type to give back what he was given," Eupheme respectfully replied without a hint of expression on his face.

"Interesting... Just five and already able to take down gathering realm experts... Haha, I am going to enjoy our little duel, I will make sure to cripple him permanently. How can a mere five-year-old defeat an eighteen-year-old like me," Acul arrogantly laughed as he walked back to the center of the courtyard and began to train again.

At the grand elder's island in the Decan clan, Leo stood in front of his grandfather, they both looked at each other, one with confusion and curiosity and the other with intention.

"What did you want from me, grandpa?" Leo asked.

"Leo, there is something I want to give you," Alfred spoke sighing as he reached for his spatial ring and brought out two books.
