40 Chapter 40. Agreed duel

"Grand elder!" a messenger hurriedly ran out onto the bridge towards Alfred in the early morning.

"What is happening?" Alfred confusedly asked as he walked towards the man.

"It's the clan head, he told me to get you immediately, the Weaver clan is at the entrance and their clan head is demanding an explanation for his son's injury. Apparently, he was very previously injured and they had to hire a stage two doctor for his treatment," the messenger spoke as he slowly regained his breath.

"I see, I'll have to leave immediately. Thank you for the message, you may return," Alfred spoke as he sent the messenger back.

"Leo!" Alfred called out from outside the house and received no response. He called out a few more times before giving up and he frustratedly said, "where the hell is that child?"

Nevertheless, he could not force time to wait for him so he left without searching for Leo. It was still quite early in the morning, Aurora was training and Alfred did not want to disturb her or Lex so he just silently walked by and left.

"I demand an explanation! My son is in bed with many of his veins and energy pathways harmed. If the Decan clan cannot come up with an explanation for this then we will declare war!" Wade furiously spoke as he shouted at Aron and the other clan members.

"Clan head, war?" the other elders of the Weaver clan asked confusedly as they began worrying. The Weaver clan at its current state did not have the power required to beat the Decan clan and if they had decided to do so, then it would result in an embarrassing defeat. This the thought of a clan war was to be avoided at all costs for both sides.

"You know full well what happened yesterday! We the Decan clan have no reason to give you an explanation, you knew all the men that were there almost butt naked on the ground. How would you explain yourself?" Aron replied angrily as he could not believe that guts that Wade had to come here with all his clan's strongest.

"They were mercenaries who were looking for kids to recruit and take into their group. They just happened to be under my clan's wing," Wade barked back.

"We have no reason to give you an explanation," Alfred's voice sounded from deep in the entrance as his silhouette appeared and he slowly walked out to the entrance, "my grandson said that your son and those seven men were intruding in the grand elder's territory which is a restricted area for all. And this is a widely known fact. Seeing that your son decided to walk through, this means that he was planning something or accident, nevertheless, he got the punishment he deserved."

"How dare you talk about my son that way! He was never in the Grand elder's area! Your grandson must be delusional and crazy! My son has no reason to walk into that area," Wade quickly replied as he kept that angry serious look on his face.

"Your son may not have but what about the seven men?" a voice of a childish boy sounded out from a nearby tree that was standing over the clan entrance.

As everyone turned their heads to look, they saw that the boy was Leo who was wearing a simple long-sleeve black shirt and simple black pants.

"I saw them walk to the bridge and they said that they had come to take Aurora. It was nicely done by you all since there was only gathering realm cultivators taking care of your son, the main members of the Decan clan were unalarmed. It's a shame that your son ran into me," Leo smiled as he jumped down from the tree and walked over.

"Father! Let me deal with this," another young voice sounded just as Wade was about to explode in anger. Everyone's heads then turned again to the Weaver clan's side as they looked for the source of that line.

A young handsome blonde adult boy around the age of eighteen walked out confidently with all his robes fluttering as he approached Leo.

"You are the one who did that to my brother?" the boy asked.

"Yep," Leo smiled warmly as he shook his head.

"How about we make a deal?" the boy brought up.

"What kind of deal?"

"A duel. If I win then you will have to submit to me and be my slave for five years," the boy proposed confidently as he puffed his chest out, declaring almost a pre-decided victory.

"Interesting, ok. But if I win, then the Weaver clan will not disturb the Decan clan for the next six years," Leo brought forward his demands.

"Ok, I agree!" the boy replied with a mocking smile as he reached his hand out to shake Leo's hand to finalize the deal.

Leo warmly did that same and accepted the handshake.

"The winner is decided when one side is unable to move or runs out of energy," the boy chillingly spoke in Leo's ear as he walked back into the Weaver crowd introducing himself loudly, "I am Acul Weaver, oldest son of the Weaver clan head. My cultivation is as peak condensing realm!"

"Hmmm... Amazing, I thought that the clan members would interfere in this and try to stop me Leo thought as he watched the thin silhouette of Acul disappear into the distance.

"My problem will be delayed for a time period! I will still expect an explanation!" Wade angrily spoke as he signaled fo the clan members to leave.

"Phew! I just solved a problem for you guys! Your welcome! About the deal, please don't talk to me about it," Leo spoke in an extremely bored tone as he walked off back into the clan, heading straight for the clan library.

"Uncle Alfred, we are going to need to keep this situation under close monitoring. Leo just agreed to take on a person who is more than double of his age right now," Aron spoke concernedly as he looked towards Alfred for advice.

"The boy seemed to have changed after the clan meeting. He seems more choppy and moody, we should leave him alone for a while. He is quite the mature one and I have faith in his abilities," Alfred helplessly spoke as he forced himself to be comforted by it.

'I hope that he does indeed have something in store for us. Even though he did not take the affinity test, he did manage to single-handedly take down six separate gathering realm cultivators, I should teach him that art. Although he may not use it now, it will be very beneficial for him to have it learned and probably kept as a close and special memory,' Alfred thought as he decided to help out Leo nevertheless and he also began to make his way to the clan library.

He arrived at the clan library a few minutes later, a huge two-story building with a lot of windows for light to pass through. Once he entered, he immediately walked to the second floor where all the proper books were. Sitting at the end of the room, in a small table in a small corner was Lex who was sleeping in a small cushion, Aurora and Leo who was sitting next to him reading. Aurora had an extremely concentrated look on her face as her eyes ran down the pages while Leo had an expression on his face that seemed to tell Alfred that he was looking for something.
