22 Chapter 22. Shopping problem

Leo and Aurora began walking down the smooth brown brick road and ended up at the city center where all the shops and markets were. It was totally different from the village. It was so much bigger, busier and the houses were so much more well built compared to their village houses.

'So this is what a city in this world looks like,' Leo thought as he slowly turned to see Aurora standing with eyes filled with amazement as his mouth went agape as her attentions quickly browsed through everything that her eyes could see.

"What do you think?" Leo asked with a smile.

"It's amazing, I can't believe that such a busy and beautiful place exists," Aurora replied as she smiled back.

"We need to go to the Decan clan, but judging from what that guard said, it is not going to be easy for us to find a way to get in the clan. Aurora, do you have any ideas?" asked Leo as he wanted to see if Aurora had a plan on how to get them in.

"Hmm. Well, they just see us as peasants, we need to make ourselves look like people of a higher status," replied Aurora after a long pause.

Leo agreed with Aurora, it did indeed seem like the status of peasants were quite looked down on. Immediately, a light bulb lit up in Leo's mind as he suddenly looked around and took Aurora's hand as he dragged her in front of a large clothing shop.

"What are we doing here?" Aurora curiously asked towards Leo, but as she looked at the shop, her attention was immediately caught by the dresses and the beautiful clothes that were on display.

"You want some new clothes?" Leo teasingly asked as he pinched Aurora's cheek after realizing where Aurora's eyes were looking.

"Are we really going in here?" Aurora asked in slight disbelief as she could not even think of ever wearing these clothes that were made of the smoothest silk and the best most beautiful colors.

"I'm tired of wear all these clothes, let's go get some so-called 'noble status' clothes," Leo spoke happily, emphasizing the 'noble-status.'

He then took Aurora and they pushed the slow wood reinforced glass door open as the door-bell rung, alerting the attendant that there was a customer who had just arrived.

"Hello, customers, welcome to our sh-" a young female attendant hurriedly came to greet the people who had just arrived at the door but after seeing Leo and Aurora and their simple clothes, she couldn't help but think of them as peasants, she immediately stopped in her tracks and began scolding them and tried to drive them out of the shop, "Hey! How dare you come into our shop. Hurry! Shoo!Shoo! You are getting this shop dirty. If the nobles see you guys then the reputation of this place will drop," she hurriedly spoke.

Acting as if she was invisible, Leo did not seem to care at all as he turned towards Aurora and simply said "go and choose what you want. I'll take care of Lex. Choose just one outfit, for now, no need for more, we can buy more later when we come here again."

Hearing this, Aurora's beautiful purple eyes instantly filled to the brim with excitement as she walked around energetically scanning throughout the shop.

"Did you not hear me?" the female attendant angrily shouted at Leo.

"Can you shut up? Please, you're going to wake my little brother up," Leo annoyedly spoke as Aurora came running back with a beautiful cherry-blossom pink dress and elegant dark blue leggings.

"Go try them on. I will go and pay for it," said Leo as he directed Aurora towards the trial rooms and then Leo began looking around the shop with the attendant slowly following him, 'I will make sure you do not steal anything today,' she thought as she evilly looked at Leo's back.

"Give me that black shirt and pants. I'll also take the robe along with it said. How much will they be added with Aurie's clothes?" asked Leo as he pointed towards a matte black shirt, dark blue pants, and a vantablack robe which seemed like it was glowing.

"What do you think you are doing? Do you think you can pay for all this? You have taken some of the most expensive kids items in this shop. With your peasant clothes, you can barely afford them. I'll tell you the price of these clothes add up to about five hundred gold coins," the attendant angrily mocked as she tried to scare Leo by upping the price a little bit.

"Okay, here take these. These should be five hundred," said Leo simply as he brought out a large stack of coins from his backpack and took the clothes and walked to a trial room while carrying Lex.

The attendant was in shock as she could not believe her eyes. Her face was in complete disbelief as she could not wrap her head around how a village child was able to pull out five hundred gold coins. This was five hundred gold coins! Five hundred! She herself barely made about a hundred gold coins a year and yet a young child dressed as a commoner could bring up a sum of that size. Doubting its validity, the attendant tried to bite one and after seeing that it did not break and was still shiny and not dented in any sort of way, she had realized that she was wrong, these were real gold coins.

Leo and Aurora came out of the trial rooms looking like completely different people. Aurora now looked like an angel sent down from heaven while Leo gained a new godly level of handsomeness from the dark outfit as he looked like a small mercenary.

"Sir and Madam, please forgive me. I am deeply sorry for my behavior. Here, please take this outfit as compensation for my blindness. It should be a good fit for the little infant that is in your care," the attendant suddenly apologized as she walked to them and bowed as she handed them a black and yellow colored infant's outfit.

"Don't worry, it's ok. I'll take the outfit. Here, ten gold should be able to pay for it," replied Leo as he took the outfit and placed ten gold coins on the counter and left with Aurora.

"Now! Off to the Decan clan we go! Leo enthusiastically spoke as he walked forwards in a random direction.

Rumble!

Hearing a small rumbling sound Leo immediately turned around in confusion only to see Aurora embarrassedly holding her belly as she sheepishly apologized, "I'm sorry but I think my belly is hungry."

"Ok then, we can go and get something to eat now. It's still early in the afternoon, we can probably get some freshly cooked lunch right now," Leo commented as he took Aurora's hand and the two began walking down the street alertly looking for an inn to eat at for the time being.

"Move out of the way!" A driver loudly shouted as a carriage quickly passed through the streets. At first, no one seemed to care but after seeing the green needle emblem that was elegantly designed onto the side of the carriage, the people immediately moved over to the sidewalk and off the road.

"Aurora let's go!" Leo happily dragged Aurora as they crossed the road, not paying attention to their surroundings.

"Watch out!" Leo suddenly screamed as he managed to catch a glimpse of the speeding carriage and pushed Aurora who was once again carrying Lex on her back out of the way.

Screech! Neigh!

A loud screech sounded as the carriage immediately drove to a halt as it hit Leo, sending him flying back a few meters.

"Did you hear me shouting? How dare you still walk on the road while the official carriage of the Weaver Clan's youngest master is traveling!" the coach driver angrily screamed as he got off and started walking towards Leo.

Cough! Cough!

"Can you not watch where you are going? At least warn me!" Leo angrily shouted as he looked at the driver angrily, his newly bought clothes had become dirty from the unexpected carriage that bumped into him.

"You dare to speak to me like that?! I am the distinguished driver of Young Master Wallace Weaver, the youngest son of the Weaven Clan's head. How dare a mere nobody talk to me in such a manner," the driver arrogantly introduced himself as he basked in his high status.

"Here it is again with this stupid status shit! I'm sick of it! How the hell does a simple name give you the power to insult someone just because they are of a lower birth! You stupid old man, just go back to you carriage and take that Beaver clan's young master to where he wants to go!" Leo snapped back in extreme anger.

'Status, all they know is status. What the hell is this world? This is like some French Revolution times stuff. Are all peasant this looked down on?' Leo angrily asked himself as he desperately tried to control his anger.
