100 Chapter 100. Guarnere Reuninion

The journey back to the village took a whole two days but by the time that they made it back, everyone was completely healthy.

The familiar village entrance greeted them as an extremely proud fatherly smile appeared on Garrick's face.

"Leo, thank you. Without you, this journey would have never been possible and I would have never made it back here alive. Now my kids and wife can live life comfortably and happily," Garrick smiled as he suddenly hugged Leo.

"It's ok... Your wife and kids must be worried sick. News of the war ended must have spread across the kingdom by now. Go, let them see that their father is alive," Leo spoke with a smile.

Garrick's house seemed to have gone through a considerable change as nothing could be heard from inside. It''s wall suddenly seemed to have aged a few hundred years as cracks filled the stone wall and the ambience was very downcast and gloomy. The window at the top was opened and sounds of a lonely woman softly crying could be heard.

"Go on ahead first Garrick," Leo spoke as he smiled.

He then looked at Wenella, "Follow behind him. You must miss your disciple a lot."

Immediately, Garrick and Wenella did not stop and walked through the front door of the house and the crying of the woman immediately stopped as a loud shout could be heard, "Who's there?!"

But as soon as the woman said that, a suspenseful silence struck, being broken a few seconds later by the woman's cries, this time a tone louder.

"Is this Garrick's home?" Mars asked curiously as he stared at the stone house confusedly. A man, about ten years older than him, who saved him when he was at a lower cultivation realm was residing in such a low status building.

"Yes. This is where he lives with his three kids and his wife," Leo replied with a smile as those cries must have meant that they met.

"She must be extremely happy," Vanessa spoke as she smiled after hearing those cries as she hung on Mar's back. When she woke up from her unconscious state, she was extremely embarrassed about it but during these two days, she had grown to extremely enjoy it.

"Don't act like she's the only feeling happy. You're also very heavy after a period of time too," Mars annoyedly spoke, triggering Vanessa as she looked at the back of Mars' head and smiled evilly before delivering an extremely painful headbutt that caused both of them to fall down and see stars.

"What the hell what that for?" Mars shouted angrily as he painfully rubbed the back of his head.

"Tch! You shouldn't make fun of my weight," Vanessa replied back as she caringly rubbed her forehead, obviously in pain as Mars' physique was stronger than hers.

"Haha! You guys make a good couple," Leo laughed as he began making his way into the house, leaving those two alone.

"Eh?" both Vanessa and Mars looked at each other cluelessly and an awkward air immediately set in as both their faces turned red like molten metal.

"Uh... We should go in as well," Mars managed to force out some words and Vanessa immediately nodded shyly, lowering the level of awkwardness as the two made their way into the house.

The scene inside Garrick's house was extremely lonely and dark. The dishes were not yet done and were piling up on the sink in the kitchen and specks of dirt could be seen coating the floor.

The only scene the seemed to exempted from this sadness was the bedroom upstairs where Garrick and his wife reunited.

Wenella and Laura were reunited as she laid there next to her, Leo was standing beside her and he smiled as he began to heal Laura.

"Great! Give her an hour or so to wake up," Leo quietly spoke as he got up to his feet.

"Thank you for keeping your promise," Wenella slowly spoke as a smile also broke out on her face.

Leo's attention now turned to the kids.

'Where were they? The house would not be this quiet if they were here. Let me go and head to the field. They might be there...' Leo thought and he headed off from the house's back entrance towards the field towards the back of the house.

He quickly made his way down to the field and walked over to the treelines where he once taught the kids. A strange smile appeared on Leo's face as he saw Arsu and Azizos sitting down quietly with Degan who was also sitting but farther back and each began circulating their own energy throughout their body.

'Impressive,' Leo thought as he did not expect these kids to have learnt all these so quickly. They had spent a single day with him and he only taught them how to absorb and circulate energy but they had pretty much already made it into vein opening realm.

Leo silently walked forward and made his way to the treelines and got within one foot of the kids. Leo bent over and stare at Arsu intently as a smile appeared on his face.

Sensing someone staring at him subconsciously, Arsu's eyes slowly opened.

"Ah!" Arsu suddenly screamed as he saw Leo staring straight into his eyes with a smile.

"Yo!" Leo greeted with a smile.

"What happened, Arsu?" Azizos immediately asked as his eyes opened. The scream of Arsu had alarmed both of them and both were now awake. Shock appeared on all the kids' faces...

"Uncle Leo!" Arsu and Azizos screamed happily as they rushed into Leo's arms and hugged him tightly.

Leo warmly took them into his arms as he hugged them, although he had only spent a few days with them, he had grown to really like them.

Sensing a cold look, Leo's face suddenly looked up and he saw Degan glaring at him with a cold look.

An understanding smile appeared on Leo's face as he understood why Degan was angry.

"Save your hugs for your dad," Leo smiled.

"He's here?" Degan asked curiously.

"He's at home. Go check," Leo spoke with a warm smile.

Immediately, the kids turned towards the house and charged straight for their house.

"DADDY!" loud shouts came from the kids as they happily stampeded into the bedroom where their Garrick and Theodora were sitting down conversing.

That day, there was a large welcome back dinner held at Garrick's house for the whole crew. Theodora and Vanessa teamed up together and made many extremely delicious dishes while Wenella attended to Laura who had finally woken up. Arsu and Azizos were extremely preoccupied with training which they seemed to really enjoy. Degan seemed to have taken great interest and had an extremely fun time conversing with Mars.

After having dinner, Leo sat down at the field silently, next to him were Arsu and Azizos. Each of them were in a meditative state.

Back in the battle, Leo felt strange energy when he operated the improved form of David's aksi. The essence or energy of stars seemed to be embedded in it, this caused Leo to grow extremely curious as he stared curiously at the skies above.

"I need to find a technique that will let me absorb the energy of stars..." Leo silently whispered to himself. The energy of the elements in each were extremely simple and easy to use but other energies like nether and stars were a dozen times more complex and could not just be taken in like fire and earth.

"Arsu! Azizos! Bedtime!" Theodora happily called out to the kids from their house window.

Hearing this, a frustrated expression appeared on Arsu's face but it was soon replaced by a helpless one.

"Uncle Leo, we will see you tomorrow. Good night," they both spoke as they turned and made their way towards the house.

"Good night," Leo replied as he laid flat on the grass with his eyes gazing off into the sky, admiring the stars.

Garrick's silhouette could be seen from the back door of the house. He gave his kids a good night hug and made his way to Leo.

"Leo," he spoke.

"What's up?" Leo asked nonchalantly.

"What do you plan on doing now?" Garrick asked curiously.

The only reason that they got to know each other was because they were going to the battlefield to help out in the war. Now that it was over, their paths would once again separate.

"I don't know... I plan to travel explore the continent," Leo replied simply as he did not really want Garrick to know about his disease, "What about you? You got into the top hundred rankings. What are you planning to do?"

Garrick suddenly grew silent as he thought profusely as he joined Leo and sat down and replied after a few seconds, "I want to make a new village at the Southern Mountain ranges. If we lost the war then my kids and wife would be at risk. I want to form a new power. A village of strong cultivators who are humble and not haughty. Kind yet ruthless."

Hearing this, Leo's brain suddenly lit up as he really liked the idea, "That's a really good idea. I am all for it. I'll join the village. I want to make a utopia for other villagers who have no hope."

"Haha great! I didn't know if you would want to join but it looks like I worried for no reason," Garrick laughed happily as he smiled. Having Leo join his side meant that their village would be most likely to succeed.

"What about the others? Did you ask them yet?" Leo asked. If he was invited then surely everyone else was too.

"Yes. Wenella said that she agrees to join but she said that she wants to break through to origin realm first, she said she will leave her disciple at the village to train," Garrick smiled as he spoke.

"What about Mars and Vanessa?" Leo then asked.

"Oh, those two. Those two seem to have some chemistry between each other," Garrick spoke with a sneaky expression on his face.

"Haha, I agree," Leo laughed as he agreed.

"They have agreed to join. They both said that they would like you to join them to go and announce their leave from the sect," Garrick smiled guiltily.

"Oh... That's fine. Impressive, we already have ten residents," Leo smiled.

"Oh well... I heard that the king has called all mercenaries to the capital to come and collect their rewards. We should get some sleep and leave early tomorrow," Garrick spoke as he nudged Leo before getting up and walking back to his house.

"Yep. I want to sleep out here for today. Good night!" Leo spoke as he waved Garrick goodbye and took one last look at the sky as he closed his eyes and fell to sleep with one thought, 'I wonder how Lex and Aurora are doing...'
