"Damn, that punch really got me good"

On their eay back on the base, Brendan complained as he rubbed his cheek in pain. When he was confronting the man who cutted in line, at that time he was caught off guard and was punched by the man when he told him he will not received any food. Brendan would have beat the man up if not for the man's son stopping him and Tatsumi arriving at the scene.

"It obvious you'll get punched. I mean why would you said that? Food is the only thing that kept them alive, you just basically telling him to die of hunger. "

"I didn't meant it what I said okay"

"Don't joke about it, the matter about food is important for them."

Tatsumi released a sigh out of helplessness. Just thinking about the scolding he will receive gave him a headache. He look at Brendan through the front mirror and told him "You owe me a beer for this" before looking at the other person.

It was young girl with a pink hair and blue eyes. She wears a black sleeveless shirt under her green dress with 2 pockets, a black gloves to her left hand with 2 wrist bands, a black leggings and white boots with belts.The girl is Kanon Daiba, one of his teammates.

She was currently looking at Brendan's cheek in concern.

"You don't have to worry about him Kanon. That small injury wouldn't affect him."

"But..."

"You worry too much Kanon, I'll be fine"

Brendan waved of her concern and look at Tatsumi

"Let's continue our conversation, apparently some new recruits will be joining us today"

"How many?"

"I heard it's two, an old type and a new type"

Tatsumi let out a suprised voice for the news. God eaters uses the weapons called god arcs to kill aragamis. These god arcs are split into two types the old types and new types.

The first generations, the old types are the weapons he and his team uses. Old types has two types god arcs, the blade units and the gun units. While the second generation, the new types are the newest type of god arcs. Unlike the Old-Type God Arcs, these God Arcs can freely transform between Blade Form and Gun form. New-Type God Arcs exhibit superior power as compared to Old-Type God Arcs. As the new type was developed to fix the flaws the old types god arc have. The blade type Arc could collect Oracle cells for conversion, but could not fire them; conversely, the gun type Arcs could fire the shots, but had no means of collecting Oracle cells short of refills carried with the God Eater. The new types are more flexible in combat situations. As such compability test for new types became a commonplace.

Unfortunately new types are very rare so hearing that one of the recruits is a new type, Tatsumi was suprised for it to appear.

"So what's the name of the recruits? "

"The old type is Kota Fujiki, a resident of the outer ghetto and for the new type she just arrived here I think her names is Keiko Yoshida."

"Kota and Keiko..."

Kanon muttered the names of the recruits and motivated herself to meet the recruits. Tatsumi who saw this laughed at her action

"Looks like Kanon is excited to meet them huh"

"Yes, I mean they will be be juniors and as a senior it is my job to guide them right"

"Pfft, you guiding them... I'll be suprise if they even survive with you and your misfires all around."

"Hey! "

"Cut it out Brendan... but he has a point Kanon. Maybe you can leave it to others to teach them."

Tatsumi imagined the scene where the new recruits were running around dodging the mortars and bullets that Kanon shot, he couldn't help but laugh but he held it in. Meanwhile Brendan imagined the same thing and he burst out laughing.

"... Tatsumi, Brendan...don't blame me when you two get caught in my 'misfires'..."

Kanon said in a cold voice as she caresses her god arc slowly. The two both felt a chill in their back as they quickly apologise but Kanon pouted her lips and ignored them.

" The defense unit is lively as always "

The driver who saw this scene laughed at his heart content and proceed to drive the cargo truck back to the base.
