23 Chapter 22

I got the worst grade in the exam because I didn't even participate. All my classmates were young masters of different powers and they had been practicing martial arts since they were young.

How could I, that has been practicing for 3 days contend against them?

After those announcements, the screens turned black and as if the school wanted to put everyone nervous, they put a 5 min clock. I was gnashing my teeth but there was nothing I could do.

The five minutes pass in complete silence and then the screens light up.

The results for the class of use of knowledge appear.

In this exam I did it pretty well, but I don't know what to expect. I start looking intensely to the screen and it doesn't take me too long to see my name. I'm ranked 20. I'm neither too happy nor mad about it. Indeed, it's a good rank considering that I'm above a lot of my schoolmates, but as someone intending to be the very best of the solar system, I'm still lacking a lot. Going up in the ranking is really hard because of the class nature. As the name says, the class is about how to use the knowledge acquired in real life situations. And this is a aspect I'm seriously lacking on, since I've only gotten here recently and I haven't got enough opportunities to experience the world and use my knowledge. My experience is mainly based in imaging what would I do in each situation.

Considering that, it's already incredible that I got ranked 20. After 5 mins, the screen turns black again and the same clock appears. Five minutes pass slowly and I try to remain calm. This is my last chance to obtain ambrosia before the game starts.

The screens as before turned on and the results appear. I glance cautiously to the screen, terrified by the thought of not getting in the top 3. My glance goes from the very bottom of the ranking to the top. I'm searching of my name. I get to the rank 50 and I still don't see my name. Rank 40, nothing;30, nothing;20, nothing. Top 10, but in what one am I?

I keep looking and finally, I see my name. I'm ranked 2. A big smile appears in my face and I nearly start laughing.

I did it!!— That's nearly everything I'm capable of thinking. All the books I read and the wise words I've read helped me to achieve my aim. People say that weapons are often the more reliable things, but I think that the mind is the most reliable. As another muscle, the brain can be trained and I'm determined to make my mind as strong as possible.

After the results appear, I go running to Quiron's house, hoping to share the good news.

Before I can even enter in the house, Quiron comes out smiling and he says — Ahahahaha, you've managed to get to the top 3, now you can get ambrosia and we'll see what powers you will awaken!

You will also be able to start practicing those martial skills I told you about. We have to wait 2 days before all the ambrosia comes.
