1 Son of God

My name is Kyle Atwood and I'm 28 years old. Today should have been like any other day; blistering hot and humid during the summer here in Ohio. Everything changed as I made my way to the door of my one bedroom house. I felt a pulse like electricity travel through my body and time seemed to freeze. Then, suddenly, a beam of light came down upon me and I was rapidly lifted into the air. Before I knew it I became so dizzy that I blacked out.

I'm now sitting down in a nice leather chair in front of a young man with white hair, and glowing golden eyes. He's currently pouring me a glass of apple juice of all things. He then gestured for me to drink it, and when I did I was in shock. This is the best drink that I've ever had! How incredible! Immediately after I drank the juice the man began to speak. "Kyle, I have called you up here because it's about time you learned the truth. The truth about who you really are, and your destiny. You are my son, and I am God!" The words coming out of this guy's lips sounded insane and I was about to deny it, but I felt a resonance in my soul that seemed to be linked to him. That feeling leads me to believe him. This means I'm a God too then!

God continued to speak. "Know that the spiritual energy here on Earth is too weak for you to begin to harness your power. Therefore I shall be sending you to a world overflowing with spiritual energy, or rather what they there call Yang Qi and Yin Qi. Fire and Ice, Life and Death. For you it should be called Heaven and Earth. I send you now to the immortal plane of Yuren. Go now with my blessing, and receive this cultivation manual and your own personally tailored martial arts manual. Good bye Kyle or should I say my son Rykiel?"

With a flicker of light I was gone from my father's presence, and now I'm standing in the middle of a thick forest in another world. As I was thinking about how to go forward, I heard a ding in my head.

Name: Rykiel

Race: Son of God

Life Span: ∞ (28)

Cultivation: Body Tempering Stage 1

Elemental Affinities: All

Charm: God

Luck: Son of Heaven

So, from what I know from the information God gave me, I'm currently at the bottom of the totem pole in regards to cultivation. First there is Body Tempering, next is Qi Refining, Soul Reforging, Meditative Vision Realm, and finally True Deity. In between each level there are 20 stages, so I have a long way to go until the top and after each level each stage becomes harder and harder to reach.

Now I have a goal to reach. Next are my short term goals. I'll aim to get stronger in this forest by fighting demon beasts, and take their demon cores to help advance my cultivation. I know that as a God I have a major advantage that other living creatures don't have. A monstrous natural defense and supernatural strength and the ability to build up divinity from worship. If people worship me, then I grow stronger. For now though, I'll focus on my cultivation and worry about building divinity in the future.

Okay, it seems that I have an inventory and my father gave me some money and camping and hunting gear. I've got a cool looking pure white, and holy looking war hammer. I took a look at the item's description.

Item Name: God's Might

Item Type: God Weapon

Item Status: Sealed

Item Description: A mighty war hammer with the power of a God within. Currently in sealed state until wielder reaches Meditative Vision cultivation level. This is a growth type weapon.

I called out to my system and spent about two hours mapping out the 10 mile radius near my point of arrival. Once I confirmed that there were no demon beasts in the area, I began to set up my base. I took out my tent and began to set it up. I grabbed out the demon beast repelling stones and placed the four of them in the four cardinal directions. I grabbed some large stones and made a fire pit. Next I went and found some dry wood and set them next to my tent for when I get back later to start my cooking fire. Once everything was taken care of for my base, I then got out the nice hunting bow and quiver out of my inventory. Let's go hunt some prey!

I'm now crouched inside of a tall bush, arrow loaded on my bow, and the bow string drawn taut. Looking down the length of the arrow, I stared at the little rabbit with a horn on its head, and took in a slow deep breath and let the arrow fly. With a quiet twang, the arrow rocketed through the air and went straight through the skull of the horned rabbit, and pinned the rabbit to a tree. Walking over, I checked that the rabbit was dead, and hurriedly cut off its head and drained its blood. Once the blood was drained, I hurried back to my base.

Taking out my hunting knife from my inventory, I began to skin and disassemble the horned rabbit. 10 minutes later, I had all of the meat and edible organs separated. The ones that I won't eat, I will bury a quarter mile away from base. Those ones I put to the edge of my base under a tree. I then began to cut up the rabbit meat into steaks and took out my frying pan and placed a few steaks in my pan. I'm glad God, still not used to him being my dad, gave me a mother load of seasonings and many other stuff for cooking and outdoor living. I sprinkled some mint and pepper onto the steaks, and slowly cooked them 10 minutes on each side. I made sure that I made a few slits on each side of the steaks to tenderize them. It's primitive, but it works.

20 minutes later, and I'm now sitting in a camping chair with a plate stacked with three perfectly cooked rabbit steaks. Time to dig in! The flavor is perfect, and refreshing. It feels like the very essence of the forest is flowing through me. After enjoying my steaks to satisfaction, I stored the rest of my rabbit meat in my inventory and held the demon beast core in my right hand. I then focused on using the cultivation technique that God gave me, which I remember was called Cultivation of The Primordial Dao of Origin. The brown demon beast core in my hand began to dim, as a swirling vortex of glowing gold and white light in between my brows sucked in the energy from it, and the energies of Yin and Yang.

With a boom the demon beast core in my hand disintegrated, and I felt like I got 20% closer to reaching stage 2 of Body Tempering. I looked up at the sky in surprise as I realized it was night time. I hurried over to my wood pile and added wood to it for the night. Once that was done, and I confirmed that the barrier was in place, I then went to my tent and climbed in and instantly zonked out.

I was rudely awakened by the sound of a woman screaming, and the sound of trees collapsing. As I scrambled out of my tent, I called out God's Might preparing for what is coming my way. As stood there waiting tensely, a beautiful woman riding on top of a large sword was heading this way and following close behind her was a large troll looking creature standing at about 10 feet tall and was switching between running and rolling, and knocking down trees along the way.

Very quickly the woman arrived in front of me and she began to yell at me. "Hurry and leave this place! The Troll King follows behind me! Anyone under the Qi Refining realm will be in trouble. I'm only at the 15th stage of Body Tempering, and I can barely dodge its attacks. Make haste and leave your camp! Your life is of greater worth than these possessions!" The woman hovered in place and tried to convince me to run with her, but I smiled because it's time to test out my new best friend.

I bowed to the woman and tried to calm her down. "Hello miss fairy, I may not look like much, but I believe this troll isn't my opponent. Please be at ease, as I shall smite it with this here hammer of mine." Lifting my hammer off of my shoulder, I then performed a series of twists and spins with my body and hammer before stopping in a wide stance as I waited for the Troll King. The creature in question stopped about 40 feet in front of me, and let out a loud and deep bestial roar. It then beat on its chest like a gorilla, and then dropped onto all fours and charged at me like a bull.

Placing power into my legs, and my arms, I dashed forward letting out a war cry as I darted in under its right arm and used the momentum of my sprint to slam the head of my hammer underneath the jaw of the Troll King. After I did this, I continued forward in the momentum and spun around facing the creatures back. A split second later it's head exploded and it's corpse collapsed heavily to the ground.

I walked over to the creature and admired my handiwork. The woman hurried over and stared at me in disbelief. "You.. you actually killed it? But how? I'm Feng Bei Bei from the prestigious Ice Queen Sect, and am currently one of the top 10 inner disciples. And yet, you a random mountain man took out something that I was forced to run from? Who is your master? What sect do you belong to? Why are you here alone in this forest? Don't you know that this Drek Blood Rot Forest is a class 9 forbidden zone?" The woman continued to interrogate me without pause until I put my hand up.

"My name is Rykiel, my master is dead and I don't belong to a sect. The reason that I'm in this forest, is because I don't trust people and wish to strengthen myself here. I didn't know it was a forbidden zone, and if I'm guilty of trespassing I'm sorry I shall leave at once." Bei Bei looked at me with a look of pity in her eyes, and she looked like she was going to say something about my background. However, the next minute she shook her head and began to speak in earnest.

"I apologize for not being aware of your circumstances, however, I still must ask you to accompany out of this forest. Now that the Troll King has been slain, my purpose for being here has been accomplished. I'll see to it that you are properly rewarded for handling this situation and saving many lives in the process. Now, please hurry and gather your things, we must be off at once." I looked at this woman with a pained expression, and then simply waved my hand and stored everything in my inventory. I then looked at Bei Bei and said, "Well let's go then." The look on her face was priceless.

We're now finally making our way out of the forest, and I saw a large gate waiting for us at the forests edge. Bei Bei showed the gate guards some sort of token, and gestured towards me. They nodded with a look of understanding and waved me forward. I gave a slight nod to the guards and followed Bei Bei 300 meters to the city gates, where the token process was repeated again. The guards looked at me with looks of pity and then waved me in after Bei Bei. I hurried after her as she grabbed onto my arm and began to rush me over to a large building that was built out of varying shades of blue colored wood. A giant blue statue of a woman stood tall at the center of what was clearly the sect that this woman belongs to. She stopped outside the gates and told me to wait here.

Approximately one hour later, Bei Bei returned with another woman with her, and she had a surprised and happy look on her face. I stepped forward towards her, and she excitedly skipped over to me. Opening her beautiful lips, and her eyes sparkling she said, "The sect head wishes to meet you. This is unprecedented, for she is known to hate men. But she seems eager to meet you, something about the divine light I saw around you as you fought the Troll King. Welcome to The Ice Queen Sect Rykiel!"
