20 Demonic Hybrids

The training of the trio; Cara, Eva and Nightingale was completed after some days of practice.

Cara could now produce a 'Gas' composed of small snakes. Since the snakes originally would disappear after 10 m, Calista explained to Cara that it's because she used magic power only at the start, letting the snakes die after it ended. So Cara only needed to continuously put magic power so the gas could grow, making possible, until she ends her magic power in her body, to create a radius of 100 m made of gas with whatever ability Cara wants. She now can envelop the entire town, making possible to heal everyone at the same time in Emergency times.

Eva could now effortlessly evade Calista attacks; Of course, only if Calista uses normal people speed.

Nightingale now could move the 'Slashes' in her fog like they were her hands, making her almost 'invincible' in her fog, since she can form walls of those 'Slashes'.

The development of the town was going smoothly too. But there were accidents, like a miner was burned in the face by the steam engine or some people wanted to burn all the food to make other people lives difficult.

There was a new weapon tested those days, a type of bomb using only gunpowder , making Roland smile, since their development was very good.

While returning to the castle, Calista could hear the sound of distant horns.

'So it's time that the Demoniac Hybrid appear?' Calista thought while changing direction towards the wall.

Seeing every soldier on the wall with flintlocks, Calista nodded to herself while going away and thought, 'In the canon, there were only two flintlocks in this period of time, but now there is over fifty flintlocks. Looks like we won't need to worry.'

But the calm was only temporary.

Seeing ten tortoise-like hybrids in the distance, all the soldiers on the wall panicked; even Roland, on the wall to boost the courage of the soldiers, was nervous.

"Shoot them!" The commander of the army, Iron Axe, commanded while taking out his own flintlock starting shooting.

Seeing their weapons making no difference on the enemy, Iron Axe commanded retreat from the wall while saying to Roland, "The bombs are ready, Your Highness."

"Explode them when the enemy is near the wall." Roland responded while watching the army retreating.

Seeing the tortoise-like hybrids near the wall and about to strike it with their shell, Iron Axe commanded, "Explode the bombs! Activate the Sky's punishment!"

*BOOM*

The bombs exploded the tortoise-like hybrids, making everyone sigh in relief.

But seeing a shadow on the fog, still walking forward, Iron Axe commanded, "Take position to shoot! Aim at the eyes!"

While Calista was walking the street, she heard a explosion on the wall, making her stop and started to think while frowning, 'Wasn't the bombs for emergency situations...?'

Activating Planeswalking, Calista dashed through everything in the direction of the wall.

Arriving there, she saw the Army shooting at a tortoise-like hybrid, making her frown even more.

'In the canon, it was able to... Oh right... the flintlocks couldn't damage him...' Calista thought embarrassed.

Appearing next to Roland like a ghost, Calista said, "... Sorry for being late, i thought you didn't need help."

"Indeed, if there were only one of those monsters, i wouldn't need it but there were ten of them..." Roland responded tired.

'Ten?!... Maybe the Deep Sea Demons, that control them, were pissed off that we killed them?' Calista thought while saying, "You don't need to worry, i'm here now."

Dashing extremely fast next and grabbing one of the monster's leg, Calista activated Weight manipulation, making the monster light as a feather.

"Let's see if you can survive THIS!" Calista said while trowing it toward the sky so hard that it made a sonic boom.

"..." ( Everyone while seeing the disappearing dot in the sky )

'... Did i exaggerate?' Calista thought confused.

"The attack was repelled and the injured, caused by the explosion on the wall, were cured by Nana, Your Highness." Iron Axe reported to Roland in his office.

"Good, we need more power to protect our city. I will test a weapon more powerful then the weapons that you are using." Roland said to Iron Axe while thinking about the tortoise-like hybrids.

"Yes, Your Highness... Can i ask the name of the weapon?" Iron Axe asked.

"It's name is 12-pound cannon." Roland responded while smiling.
