7 Chap 7: Aotsuki Akiko

Many millennia later, in a small planet, in a minor realm....

In the Gambio continent, humans, Dwarfs and beastmen become during ten thousand years rulers of the mainland. The other races at the bring of extinction hides, for fears of being definitely exterminate or lived in islands. But that doesn't mean that they couldn't live in the mainland, just that they couldn't have their races rule a land to make it their homelands.

And due to the wars that waves in the Gambio continent, the population become weaker and weaker by times to the point where the almost forgot, that above them, exist other realms.

Mahel Island

In the Capital Mahel City

This island was one of a few with almost all races inside, but without true practical law.(At: imagine that the Island has the size of the hole Asia continent) This was an outlaw land ruled over by the most powerful gangs and families. The adventurer guild was out of the system because it was an organisation who was planted everywhere and was too overpowered so it was neutral in countries affaires. In Mahel City, there was five power who ruled a part of the city and the island.

Even if they ruled it, it's not like they did it like a king should do it. They discarded the well being of the peoples, and just take taxes from them. And if the inhabitants don't pay, they where hunted down and throw into slavery or just killed.

And in a forest between a mountain and Mahel City, this was what happening to teenager demon named Aotsuki Akiko. Because since two years ago her mom has been kidnapped, Aotsuki Akiko was alone and had to found ways to pay the taxes. And the only choice she had was to stole.

She didn't do it often, because even if she live in the poorer district, and even if there was no real law, if someone reported it she will be executed.

And a few month ago someone from his neighbourhood, had some suspicion about how she earned her money, so he kept following her but never did found anything because Akiko knew that she was being followed. But because she stopped stealing, she didn't have enough money, so she decided that before she was caught by the five power, she had to leave the city. Unfortunately for her, his neighbour who was constantly following her tell it to the authorities.

And now she was running for her life.

"If only I had another unique skill other than that <ONE SUMMON>! I don't have the strength to contract with a monster, and it will be a waste to do it with a normal objet! I'm so screwed, there's just wood here" she thought in the verge of crying. As almost every one is born with at least one unique skill, so was Aotsuki Akiko.

<ONE SUMMON> allow the user to contract with anything. But the user can only have one Familiar in his hole life, in exchange, the experiences are the double for both and the familiar can evolved. But if the familiar died, <ONE SUMMON> disappear and the summoner can't contract one again. So he have to chose his familiar with care because if for example the summoner chose a stick of wood. If it burn before it had become stronger and evolved, the summoner will become someone with no unique skill.

That's why until now, Akiko never contract with anything. And now that she didn't have any choice left, she couldn't just pick a random stick because it will be useless.

While running, Akiko wanted to see where were her pursuers so she turn her head. But all she saw was a blue light coming to her. But before it had time to touched her Akiko suddenly felt that she was walking on nothing. But she didn't have time to ponder because she was already falling.

"Aaaaaaaaaah!!!" Akiko screamed like there would be no tomorrow with her eyes shut. She was falling in a pit who seems to had no end. And when she saw that after two minutes, she still wasn't a pancake on the ground, she stopped screaming to saw what was happening around her. And what she saw when she opened her eyes left her speechless.

She was not falling, but floating. And the pit had already disappeared to make a room for a giant magnificent room, feeled with books. The room was circular, and at the center, was an altar and on it was an inscription. But sadly, Akiko since she's born never learned how to read just how to count. So for her those books weren't that useful but something told her that this big place was a something out of ordinary.

"Screwed the day I decided that knowing how to read wasn't useful. Maybe those books are grimoires of ancient spells, and because I don't know how to read, I can't use them. Now I really want a book who can help me learning how to read and a powerful grimoire" once she said that, the altar started to shine and two books left there place to flew over here.

That scene chocked her. "that place can understand what I said?"

But she didn't have to be happy that a voice sound in the room.

And when all hope were lost , the altar finally shine and opened itself. And a stone flew out right her side and stopped before her.

The stone was pure grey in colour and seems to vaguely look like a knife or a dagger. But it was rudely made. "This is the most powerful weapon here??" Akiko thought with many doubts. But she still takes the stone.

{Na..... name.. me....} said a weak woman voice.

Akiko was astonished "Did the stone, just speak??"

As the stone wanted to confirm it its said again {Don't....'ve....Time.... Name me..}

That serve as a wake up to Akiko. "OK, OK. I Aotsuki Akiko, name you my new familiar....Aki! <ONE SUMMON>!"

After that, the stone started to glow and took the shape of a tanto (katana with a short blade).

{Hurry and asked for a gloves storage} said the tanto in stone no longer weak.

"I wants Gloves storage, please?" she repeat with a strange face. But the altar shine and five pair of glove appeared. She took them all and wear black ones like the colour of her horns. {touch the books, and thinks like you want to store them away}

She did as the stone said and the books dispears. She repeat the same action with the others gloves in amazement, and they all disappear.

Akiko minds go blank. "I.... I.. I contract with a part of the mother of universe?? The Goddess of Magic? How did I dare to make here my familiar?? Now for sure I screw it up"

As money started to flew toward her, the voice was finishing counting.

And in no time, they reach the surface. Akiko was trying to digest the new informations she discovered, but the voice didn't give her the time to. {get up demon girl, someone want to kill you! Wait no time, roll aside!}

Akiko comply without thinking, and dodge in-extremis a water blade coming at to millimeters of her face. And when she get up, she started to run again. But her new familiar Aki was obviously disgruntled of her attitude. {where are you going? The fight is at the other side! Don't be afraid, you have me now}

"Demons are scared by nature! I can't stopped to want running!" she scream while still running.

{What?? Since when do demons are scared? On the contrary, demons inspired fears!! Go back!}

"But... Its most safer to escape!" She said while not knowing who she was trying to convince. {So you'll continue running until when? If you do so to day, you will never ever have a descent life! To day, I will give you an opportunity. We didn't complete the contract, because agree yet, but if I do, that means my new master will stop running. And not just today, but for ever! So, will you?"

Another water blade slashed, but because the caster was to far, he couldn't accurately aim right. So it slashed three trees beside Akiko before dispersed.

"Ok, I'm in!" she cried scared. "I won't ever run anymore. I promise!"

Akiko still with fear in her stomach, face his opponent who finally caught up. It was a beastman Rhino full in armor. He was wearing a helmet so we couldn't see his face and had an axe at the same size of Akiko, 1.60 meter. He himself was two and a half meter tall.

grey flames started to envelope Akiko, and started to decomposed everything around. Akiko didn't what's going on, but she knew that at this moment, she didn't have to fear anything, in fact everything should fear her.

Horror started to show in the face of the Rhino. "Impossible, those grey flames...! What are they? Who are you?"

The girl didn't answer, she just did a movement of slashing with her tanto and a grey slash come out in direction of the beastman. He didn't have the chance dodge or anything. The moment the grey slash touched him, he was gone, destroyed into dust.

What Akiko fears the most become true when she heard Aki. "I'm screwed, I made her my familiar, I'm so screwed!" she thought while trembling. She then with a weak voice "Yes.... I know..." But what follows next was out of her expectation.
