9 A Night in Beacon

"W-Wh-W-Wha-Wh-a-t...."

Weiss was flustered at Jin's sudden request as she tried her best to calm her beating heart and compose herself.

Ruby was now gritting her teeth while Yang was waiting for her response with a smile. But she didn't forget to have a grip on Ruby's shoulder.

'Everytime Jin would try to flirt with a girl in front of her, she would always acts like this, its like she's jealous or something.'

"W-w-hy would I-....."

*ENNGGG*

Her words were interrupted with a booming microphone sound.

This causes everyone to look at the source and they all saw Professor Ozpin, readying the microphone with Glynda beside him.

"I'll....keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction."

Ozpin could hear murmurs around the crowd but he continued, "You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step."

Ozpin ended his speech before walking away. Glynda then steps up to the microphone and announced.

"You will gather in the ballroom tonight; tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed."

The siblings looks at each other and Yang talks first,

"He seemed kind of.....off."

"It's almost like he wasn't even there."

"Don't know, don't care. I'll be going somewhere. Rubes, Yang" Jin said to his sisters before leaving.

"Just don't go to far! And come back soon!" Ruby said out loud while Yang was looking around for Weiss, but she couldn't find her. "Wow, the white girl just disappeared."

"Who cares, its good that she's gone." Ruby said out loud with an annoyed tone, while Yang just sighed helplessly.

'I thought that you wanted to make things up for her. What's with the change of attitude?'

.....

"Ozpin's speech wasn't really welcoming for the freshmen."

Jin was leaning against a wall outside of the auditorium as he looks around.

He saw that there were many students that was going in and out of the place. Jin guessed that they were either freshmen or were upperclassman.

Jin was sensing the Aura's of each and every single person here, and he could tell that many of them were really powerful hunters in training, but they were not in his level.

Aura is the manifestation of one's soul, and can be used for a wide range of abilities.

He was very sensitive towards Aura because of his [Aura Steal] semblance, whose power is not just as the name says. Furthermore, he was able to tell how strong an individual is just by looking at them or detecting the quality and quantity of their Aura.

Jin was born with a tremendous amount of Aura along with it being so powerful, that would have been impossible to control if he didn't start his early training.

He has a great control of his Aura, and is able to use it other than for defense, healing and its common use for offense. His creativity and great control made him have a special kind of manipulation.

After all, an Aura's strength and ability is dependent on experience, training and innate skill.

'Almost all of the people here has unlocked their Auras.....makes want to take it from them.'

Jin just shook his head and tried to forget that thought. That was a side effect of his [Aura Steal] semblance.

He will always have these urges to take the Auras of the people who has them. It wasn't hard to resist these thoughts if his body's Aura reserves were still plenty.

But if his Aura reserves goes to below 50%, then those kinds of urges would be alot harder to resist and in the critical level, he might go in a mindless rampage on devouring Auras.

Jin may have four semblances, but all of his semblances had their own side effects. The side effects can take place if he a uses that semblance too much, or by feeling strange urges in certain encounters, or by experiencing a massive emotional or physical stress.

"Ugh.....Ok, let's just look for some food. I'm kinda hungry."

.....

.....

It was night time and the students are splayed around in sleeping bags.

Ruby, in her pajamas and has a sleeping mask around her head, was writing something in her journal until Yang crashes next to her, similarly dressed.

"It's like a big slumber party!"

"I don't think Dad would approve of all the boys, though." Ruby replied as she continues to write on her journal.

"I know I do!" Yang said as she purrs and watches several muscular and shirtless guys. But then she had deadpan look as she thought.

'Ugh, nevermind. Jin's body is a thousands times better.'

Especially when she sees Jaune, dressed in footie pajamas and waving to her, which makes her groan before she returns her attention to Ruby.

"What's that?"

"A letter to the gang back at Signal. I promised to tell them all about Beacon and how things are going."

"Aw, that's so cuuuute!" Yang teased Ruby before being knocked back as a pillow was thrown at her face.

"Shut up! I didn't get to take my friends with me to school! It's weird not knowing anyone here!"

"What about Jaune? He's... nice! There you go! Plus one friend! That's a hundred percent increase!"

"Pretty sure Weiss counts as a negative friend. Back to zero...." Ruby lamented as she lied on her back.

"There's no such things as negative friends! You just made one friend and one enemy!" Yang said before being hit with another pillow.

"Look, it's only been one day. Trust me; you've got friends all around you! You just haven't met them yet!"

Yang then realized something and she looks around and notices that Jin was missing.

"Hey, Where's Jin?"

"He said that he's going for a walk."

"Why?"

The question made Ruby turn to Yang with a frown.

"I don't know, maybe it has something to do with 'that'."

Yang frowns upon hearing this and she began to worry on her brother.

After all, Jin was there when Summer Rose, their mother, died.

He watched every single second of it without blinking and he would never forget how she died and the thing that killed her.

.....

Contrary to the sister's concerns, Jin wasn't really thinking about his mother's death. He was just relaxing in reminiscence of other things.

"It's a peaceful night." Jin said as he gazed onto the broken moon of Remnant.

Jin was wearing a simple black shirt, red pants and red slippers. He was currently sitting at the balcony of Beacon Academy as he continues to gaze on the moon.

"It's been 15 years since I've been reincarnated into this world."

Visions of the past then comes into his mind.

He was 17 year old Senior High School Student back on Earth.

His social life was great and he had a hobby of playing games, reading manga and watching anime.

His family was not too poor and not too rich, just an average household with no problems.

One day, when he was on his way home from a computer shop after buying a new laptop. There was suddenly a man that snatched the bag where his new laptop was at and he chased the man.

He managed to catch up with the man in an alleyway and tackled him into the ground. Jin got up first and he wrestled with the man to take back his bag.

But when he managed to finally take the bag from the man's hands, he felt something painful from his stomach.

He looked down, only to discover that he was stabbed by the man and he collapses. The man just grabbed the bag and made a run for it, leaving behind a dying Jin.

Jin finally closed his eyes and embraced death.

But suddenly, he felt that his body was being sucked away. He thought that he was dead, but no, he was feeling pretty alive, but he felt that his body was smaller and he couldn't talk properly.

The moment he opened his eyes, he saw a beautiful woman with silver eyes, smiling and looking at him with affection.

He knew that he was reborn and his current body was that of a baby.

The woman's head turned on the left and Jin similarly did so, and then he saw another infant that was being held by the woman's left arm.
