12 Chapter 12-Thoughts

The next day

After coming back home and being barraged with questions from my mother I called a cab and headed to Long beach.

There weren't a lot of people there since it was 6 in the morning besides the morning joggers and dog walkers.

I walked off the sidewalk and plopped down on the sand and thought ' When was the last time I was at a beach.... maybe the time I had suicidal tendencies... or the time I woke face first in the sand piss drunk barely remembering my name.'

'What am I here for? Why do I have this chance to go back and no one else? What am I doing all this for, my family?...her?...To help others?'

I spent 2 hours just thinking. I caught many stares looking toward me and a few asking 'Are you okay?' I'd only nod my head so they would go away... and they would. An hour and a half in I got my answer. I don't know why I spent so just thinking... maybe cause I haven't given myself space to yet. I came to the conclusion there's no pointing being selfless we that's what we got people who give to charities and firefighters for.

I'm going to give to the people who helped me in my rough times...and be selfish. No point in figuring why I had this chance cause only God knows.

I got up from my crossed leg position in the sand and took a couple of seconds to pat the sand off my body and called a cab to get back home.

About 10 minutes into the car ride I got a call from Damian another guy that was part of SMARTS that's in charge of the energy I accepted the call and said "Hello?"

"The product is ready for you to test boss." He said

"Good, I'll be there soon." I said and hung up.

"A little detour head to 856 Kingston dr."

Sometime later I arrived in front of the giant metal doors. I walked over and knocked a few times

'Voice Authorization Needed.' A robotic-like voice said.

"Apollo"

"GRANTED"

The doors opened surprisingly fast for its size. I walked inside.

"AAAIIYOOO little boss is back."I heard someone say not too far from me.

As my eyes adjusted to the bright lights I saw the beautiful stainless steel interior and countless machines all over this warehouse that I invested so much in.

I walked over to a side of the warehouse to where a huge machine was seen.

"Over here boss." Damian said a couple of feet away to where there was a table with different drinks on it.

I took a sip of the different drinks and they were all really good. I'd say it tasted better than the other drinks back in 2027.

"It'll take some time to make the 400,000 drinks you requested for testing around California." Damian said while fidgeting and moving constantly.

"That is no problem when you are done talk with Mark we had agreed we'll put them in the growing number of vending machines and some grocery stores. As agreed if it works out you personally will get shares of the company and you'll be able to move out of this warehouse and build a whole one for the countless drinks we'll need to make and also we'll purchase a big building for you and your employees to work."

Before leaving I walked toward James Hanson the man in charge of starting FoodDash.

"Why haven't I been getting reports lately Mr.Madison."

"We've gotten into some difficulties, sir the logo being one of them...I hate you and life I want to-"

"Calm down I'm not mad." I grabbed a piece of paper and flipped it over to not write on whatever was on it and drew a picnic basket going over a moon. I wasn't going to mess with James since he has his own problems... being multiple personality disorder.

"Now start getting more results.....And start giving me more reports Mr.Madison." I said while walking back out the door.

They are all geniuses in their own way I was never going to tell them how to do their job I'm more of just an important investor for them all when no one gave them a chance. Also, they care less for money and their main focus is 'having fun' as they say in creating new things.

I got back in the cab that I had told to wait for a couple of minutes and went back home.
