34 Chapter 34: Introduction to the plain boss, and teleportation scroll.

 And back to the present.

Liam ventured, his eyes darted towards Irene.

"For the claimed alliance area, will it also depict the same castle's illusion similar to a lord territory energy bubble?"

Liam inquired, he was quite curious regarding this.

"No, it won't"

Irene replied with a shake of her head.

"The energy wall will only mark our area under a certain color. And for the color, I have already decided to set it to green for our alliance"

"And also, I have already discovered a great area suitable for our alliance base to be built"

"So soon?"

Liam raised his eyebrows at the revelation of this, and Irene simply smiled and continued.

"The sooner we build our base, the better. Trust me on this one"

"And to get to the area where we want to build the alliance fortress, we will have to use a teleportation scroll"

Irene explained, her voice carrying a sense of importance.

"A teleportation scroll?"

Liam repeated, his interest piqued by the mention of such a magical item.

Remembering the series of announcements back then, especially regarding the so-called teleportation feature that was unlocked.

"Yes, I have it in my hands after establishing the alliance. It's a vital tool for us, in total, I have over 50 teleportation scrolls, according to the maximum number of people allowed in a level 1 alliance"

"That's why I am eager to select the worthy ones only to enter our alliance. Imagine If I were to give the scrolls early on just for them to leave the alliance the next second. It would be a huge loss"

 Irene explained.

"These teleportation scrolls, don't tell me that it will allow the lord's territory to be teleported to a designated location that we want?"

"Moving the castle at will, and coupled with the map feature. Such a strange feature"

Liam inquired, his mind already spinning with the possibilities.

"Yes, you are right"

Irene nodded, a spark of excitement evident in her eyes.

"And shortly, teleportation scrolls will become a vital item that is needed during a battle. It will be the backbone of every lord from now on"

"The battle involving the scroll will be much more complicated, especially to those Lords that are prone to running away the moment their lives are threatened"

"But this ability also allowed the lords for more maneuverability across the map"

Liam took a couple of moments to comprehend all of this information first before continuing.

It wasn't a lot to take in but it was quite interesting he must admit it.

"Then"

Liam paused for a moment, leaning his back against the chair and he posed his question.

"If we ever run out of these scrolls in the future, how do we gain more?"

Hearing his doubts, Irene smiled mysteriously and summoned the panel into their view, shuttling her finger towards it, and finally, a new panel emerged into their sights.

"Here"

She pointed as Liam's eyes followed suit.

There, to where she was pointing, a marker appeared on the map.

It was a giant red dot, one that Liam had never seen before.

"This is a new one... "

"What is this?"

"I had never seen such a strange red dot before on the map"

Liam inquired, his interest piqued by the unfamiliar marker.

Irene then smiled mysteriously.

"It's a monster"

"A monster that was born out of emotions"

"A monster that was born out of emotions?"

Liam raised his eyebrows at her words, looking over the red mark again on Irene's panel and he asked.

"Can you zoom in?"

"Yes, take a look"

She nodded, zooming in on the map, and finally, the picture came to light of what the red dot meant.

It was a sight to behold, a horror to be more precise, as if the picture was sculptured by the hands of death.

There, within their view, existed a giant tree that stood tall between the mountains, towering upon this plain.

Oddly enough, there were no other creatures or even trees in sight within the area. The earth appeared to be oddly naked without any covering on it.

It was as desolate as a desert and as eerie as a graveyard.

The tree was tall, roughly the same height as Liam's current dragon form.

But what made him frown was that on the tree trunk, there were many deformed human heads, and their expressions seemed to be varied. Filling up the whole tree from the top to the bottom.

Some were crying, some were laughing, and some were smiling. Even through the panel map, Liam somehow could hear the distorted noises that these faces were making.

The tree's leaves were oddly enough deep red as blood, and the roots spread far away, roughly 1 kilometer around it. Crisscrossing around the area akin to that of the nest of snakes.

Seeing this horrendous creature, Liam frowned for a moment and asked.

"What is this abomination of a creature?"

Hearing his words, Irene then replied.

"It's a plain boss, and this one is known as the Tree of Terror"

"A plain boss? Why have I never seen them before in the last few days? Is this monster new?"

Liam questioned.

"Yes, they are new"

"Actually, the moment the alliance feature was unlocked, they were finally added into this world"

"And that's not the worst part, there are a lot more of these creatures in this world. So in the future, don't be surprised if we accidentally stumbled across a world boss while we are moving around the map"

 Irene replied with a smile.

"Then, by you saying that to gain the teleportation scroll... "

"Is it to defeat this thing?"

Liam inquired, connecting the dots as he examined the strange tree with his hand against his chin. Seems to be curious about how this tree operates.

"Yes, for now. This is the only source of teleportation scrolls that we can gain from. And this method is not for everyone even for the current us"

"I was just mentioning this early on since it is important"

"Extremely important, I just can't express enough how vital teleportation scrolls are. They are like the pillars of a building, if we do not have it, we will fall"

Irene confirmed solemnly, her expression serious.

"I do understand that since such high maneuverability across the map is simply extremely useful"

"But what does it mean by this method is not for the current us? Do you think I am not strong enough to defeat it?"

Liam asked, his brows furrowing with doubt as Irene's words sank in.

It's not like he is boastful, but the aura and the size of this creature seem to be on par with the current dragon form that he possesses. Liam knew just how powerful he was currently, and even if he couldn't defeat the monster head-on, his almost endless supply of energy could allow him to grind the monster to death from a long-range attack.

"It's not that I am doubting your strength or anything"

Irene explained earnestly, her gaze steady.

"But to defeat this monster, for the current us is simply not enough"

Irene didn't dare to take Liam's words lightly though she could on remind earnestly.

"It's like throwing an egg to the rock, futile."

"A plain boss is different from any other monster. A plain boss is exactly what a boss would have in any game back in our past world"

"Just say it, large aoe, almost countless times more vitality, several stages of transformation until we can actually kill it, and more. It is a full fledge boss"

"Then... what level is this creature on average? Or is it fixed?"

Liam asked.

"Yes"

Irene nodded solemnly, her expression grave.

"A plain boss has no fixed levels. It depends on the territory that they govern"

"And the one that we are currently seeing"

Irene paused for a moment within her words, waving her hand and summoning the map panel to zoom out.

"This monster is at least a level 30 existence. It's going to be a while before we reach these monsters' level to defeat them"

"Even the weakest, at most will be over level 25, which is the threshold of sublimation for tier 6 existence"

Hearing this, Liam's originally worried complexion receded in an instant, as he exhaled.

'So it's only level 30. With my current strength, it shouldn't be a problem to clear it '

'Maybe I can try it in the future'

Liam silently thought within, though on the outside, he ventured.

Continuing the conversation.

"Then, why would the system even include these monsters this early into the world?"

"Aren't they afraid of their world being unbalanced?"

Liam pondered aloud, his mind grappling with the implications.

"That..."

Irene paused for a moment, seemingly lost in thought and also feeling a bit ridiculous that these words came from Liam's mouth.

'Balance? What balance? Your existence itself is unbalanced'

'When everyone else is struggling to get to 100,000 power, you are already way above everyone else'

'Balance this fist to your face, please '

'And what's wrong with the dragon form earlier that I saw, balance what really? You crazy bast-'

Irene cursed within, though her smile remained undiminished on the outside even though she was secretly saying good remarks regarding the gentleman before her.

"I don't know myself"

Irene shrugged and continued.

"Who are we to question the so-called system, really? Even bringing us here, they never knock on our door politely to kidnap us here."

"It's not like the system is going to ask our opinion on what it's going to do, will it?"

Irene smiled harmlessly, she was totally not cursing within.

Liam chose to remain silent on this one, his thoughts swirling with the weight of Irene's revelations.
