1 Prologue

"What are you going to do with him?" Asked the mother who laid in the bed, barely able to stand from blood loss. The father couldn't even see her it was so dark, but he knew that without a hospital she was in danger.

The whimpers of the new born baby in his arms were the only thing keeping him grounded. He knew that even if him and his wife were to die right now, this baby had to live, he was the chosen. The one to banish the world of The Crux.

"I'll send him to live with his grand father. It's the only thing I can think of. The Crux don't know him and the boys powers won't awaken for a long time. We're counting on you, Gin." He looked down into the darkness where he knew his babies eyes were looking back up at him. A single tear fell from his eyes as he snapped his fingers and his baby vanished in thin air.

The door to the supply closet they were hiding in splintered and three men in black hoods stepped into it, filling the room with an ominous energy.

The father looked at the mother and his heart sank, she was already gone. A shimmering light protruded from her abdomen. A glitch of too high a level was cast into her by one of these men and it filled the father full of anger.

He balled his fists and felt his nails digging little half moons into his palms. Through clenched teeth he muttered the word 'impale' and he stomped the ground. The tile beneath the three men began to move as if they were standing on water before three ten foot tall stalagmites extended from the floor.

Each hood fell to the ground and so did both arms of the father. Two ultra thin wires dripped fresh blood to the floor as the man fell to the ground defeated. It hurt but he didn't have the strength nor the will to scream or even writhe in pain. He looked up to see all three men stood, in front of him with evil sneers plastered across their faces. Their eyes all a pale white signifying that they had sold their souls to the lord of The Crux for a power rivaling that of a Divine being.

The man in the middle kneeled down to be face to face with the father. "Are you sure you're the great Xev? The greatest accumulator known to all of Glitchers?"

The father looked at him with disgust in his eyes.

"Didn't anyone ever teach you to respect your elders?" The man stood as the fathers head fell to the floor. The blood coated wires flowing back into the hood that he wore bearing the symbol of The Crux.

A maniacal laughter was all that could be heard as the barrier they had placed around the building they were in fell.
