1 Transformation Complete

Inside a lavishly furnished room that was modestly colored in warm and ambient colors, stood a man facing his reflection.

He flicked his dark brown hair throwing it aside and then started to comb his hair. Touching his face he admired how soft and supple his skin was compared to before and was taken aback by his deep indigo eyes.

His thoughts were in disarray as he tried to remember what had happened. He was slightly disheveled and pondered over the events of the day before.

He had no recollection and then his eyes gazed downwards to his smartphone. The screen flashed and on the home screen, a new app had been installed.

....

Light crept through the slit of the curtains and shone unto the boy's unopened eyes. He reluctantly awakened and stood dazed by the morning rays.

He rubbed his eyes furiously in an attempt to liven himself up. It worked but for a mere three seconds before he realized some gunk had stuck onto his lashes.

It was a hassle to clean it up but he did it to make himself keep his image of being neat and tidy up.

After all as a fourteen year old boy he may have had no experience in life itself but he for sure knew how annoying it was for people to get ready in the morning.

Tired and restless as he was there was no way he was missing classes. After all he was Liam Green, an all around smart guy that consistently gained grades that went over the nineties mark.

Save for maths he pretty much had great grades in all subjects. But today felt different, he had an ominous premonition and he was right.

Whilst showering he had felt his internal temperature rise causing him to faint from the heat.

Luckily his sister had found him swiftly and he had been lying in bed all day. His younger brother had been the one to take care of him as their parents were away to another country for work.

His sister Lila was a studious and vicious young lady, she had a minor rivalry with Liam and they were trapped in a love-hate relationship.

As for their younger brother, well he was just an angel. Despite the sibling's squabbles, the two agreed on the fact that they needed to protect their cute little brother.

"Big bwo, are you okay? Is your phever still up?" Jason then climbed up onto the bed and placed a wet towel on top of his brother's head.

He then climbed down now with a wet shirt. He was soaked completely but did not mind, as he never saw his parents much he wanted to stay with his brother and sister all the time in their absence.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for worrying. I'm just more nervous about what will happen over the next few days, I mean after all we'll have a small holiday after this." Liam patted Jason on the head reassuring him that he would be more healthier in no time.

After Jason exited the room his smile went down and he seriously thought to himself what was to happen next for him.

After all tomorrow was the start of a two week holiday. The second term of the year was far and yet so near. He had been anxiously waiting for it as the school festival was always held during the second term.

Drowsiness came over him but before he fell asleep his phone buzzed to life. Fishing it out of his pocket he saw a text message to him from an unknown number.

Taking a closer look it seemed to be a link for a website. Pressing on it with some slight hesitation he was then taken to a strange site.

On top of the screen was a plain white half mask with a blue teardrop shape under its right eye.

And below the mask in golden big letters and sharp font the words 'Glamour Game' came up. He was confused and unsure of what to do.

Scrolling down he saw a set of instructions. "Enter thy name." At this point he realized that it was an actual game site.

At first he thought it was a prank site created just to troll him. But in all honesty who would ever have enough time to do that?

He had envisioned a name that suited him well. "Enigmas. A mysterious character that lives in the shadows." He smirked feeling his artistic side seeping through.

He scrolled down a bit more and saw another bar that he had to fill. Under it were the words, "Enter thy title." As he had seen enough shows and anime as well as read novels and mangas he knew instantly what a title meant.

"Let's see, maybe I can call myself Lord Of Mystery? No too arrogant, what should entitle myself with?" He glanced around the room for inspiration, and there it was.

A pamphlet on observatories. Clicking his fingers he swiftly typed his idea in before he forgot about it. "The Observer. Not too shabby and it had a nice ring to it."

Liam strokes his chin, proud of his title. Now he went on to the harder part. The creation of an avatar.

A basic blank body appeared on the screen and on the side were very specific features and even special features that could be used for the character.

Taking in all the options he struggled to make himself not to go crazy with the selection as the game was called Glamour Game.

From what the name implies appearances may be important in the game. First the facial features.

He had went with an arched brow and adjusted the thickness in order to make himself not look angry all the time.

A small nose was perfect as he also had a small nose in real life. From the lips, lashes and face type it had it all.

And for the eye color he desperately wanted it to look cool, so he made sure it had a purple or violet like color.

The hair and skin color was easy as he wanted it to be the same as his. After all he could not imagine what he would look like with other colors and pigments.

It was a strange thought. The next selection was tricky as it required a lot of thought as he would never be allowed to change it.

His race. Other than humans there were different humanoid beings that could be chosen amongst many different races.

Elves, Goblins, Harpies and even Onis. So in order to make it a fair way of choosing he purchased an Elite Mystery Pack for over forty dollars that was guaranteed a rare race.

But out of his expectations he was not given a race but rather a privilege to create his own. "Ooh, how exciting." With the [Spark Of Life] privilege one could create up to three different races and the quality and strength of the races were determined by how complex the race was.

"In other words the more intricate and detailed a race was, the more features and capabilities it would be given by the developers."

Liam tried to make sense of this game and realized that the privilege was basically given to him so he could do the job of increasing the diversity of character choices for them.

"What a rip-off. I paid forty dollars for this sh*t? Hell no." But he had no choice as he had already started the game, he was not going to stop now.

[Sharp-Tailed Human: A human like being with a tail that has a sharp tip. The number of tails equals the times they had undergone a process called 'Emergence' in which a new tail is added every five years starting from their fifth birthday and only stops until they have three. If lucky and one gains two tails during emergence they have a high chance of obtaining seven tails. Each tail corresponds to a different racial skill].

Liam nodded feeling satisfied with what he had created. He stretched out his body and yawned falling to sleep after he had finished his character customization.

——

Somewhere in the Eastern Asia regions.

"Oh my, it seems someone has obtained the Spark Of Life. Well now isn't this interesting?"

In a round table several shadow cloaked figures faced towards the loud woman. "Yo, mermaid wench you should clam up a bit you know what I'm saying? Or are you going to do it the hard way and pretend like you're a goldfish again?"

In a space adjacent towards the woman a man with a long protruding sharp beak called her out feeling annoyed by her.

"Enough. Let King decide how we should deal with this." All the others faced the right end of the table and inspected their leader closely.

"Application accepted. Sharp-Tailed Human is a true race from now on." Reaching his hand out he pulled the interface and files away from the mermaid girl.

The others murmured unsure of what to do next. But since the boy in question was under the mermaid's district she was to deal with him.

"What do I do? Give him a medal or something?" King shook his head and waved his hand.

Right before her was a set of clothes and a note. The mermaid gasped knowing that the clothes were actually very powerful Artifacts.

"I understand, I shall bring The Water Above And Flame Below to him." She saluted to King and disappeared spraying a misty water trail as she left.

....

Liam awakened from his short stupor and began to vividly remember all the details.

Recalling everything he then pressed on the software app and it loaded. What came next surprised him.

There was a message from the developers. [Thank you Enigmas for your application and we have added your creation in the database. As of now you may be confused on why you have become your character but that is a question that shall be answered for later.

If you wish to seek more information on your current dilemma please email us at XXXXX.

Once again we thank you and please enjoy your glamorous new life.]

His whole body trembled not only in shock and fury but also of excitement and joy. To think that his fantasy could come to life and he was living in it!

"Well then, let's see what this game is all about."
