2 Chapter 2

" Hello Mr. Ziles, where to this morning?"

" Where we always go, Arthur." Reminding my driver once again that I have no social life is humiliating, I mean compare me to him and it's almost like he has everything. A forty-six year old with a wife, two children, and a great job. Almost anyone would kill for that. Granted, I am the first ever youngest CEO owner of my own business plus I'm filthy rich with a penthouse the size of a three story building but something just doesn't feel right.

I've never liked children and always found them to be an obstacle in one's life to success and apart from being tied down it just didn't really suit me so I've never really had what so many people did.

My parents aren't very affectionate towards each other and fight like they're in a warzone but they always found a way to get along during work hours. I admire that about them, I just wish their yelling didn't have to be anywhere around me. I don't know why I'm discussing this in my head. I usually never think or talk about my parents. My mind has always been filled with work although, today I feel strange.

" We're here, Mr. Ziles." I look at my silver watch and realize twenty minutes have passed before the scheduled time I said I'd be there. Oh well, can't blame Arthur's slow driving.

I pick up my sunshades from the side of the car and wave Arthur bye before I head outside. I walk through the glass doors thinking of all my workers on the second floor rushing to grab whatever they need before going back to their desk just as they should be. " Morning, Mr. Ziles." Hazel says with the color pink flushing her face. It would take an idiot to not realize she has a thing for me. Hell, half the girls in L.A have a thing for me but of course I keep it professional. " Morning, Hazel." I say, as I keep it moving towards the elevator, making it to the second floor. Though when the doors open and I see all my workers rushing, getting what they need to done, I can't help but see that one person slacking off. Clearly, Garett might not be considering that the unemployment office is right down the street but I definitely am. It's very convenient for everyone who I fire but I guess that's the last thing to his mind considering how he has his knees on the desk in front of him, headphones in his ears, and is nodding his head with a candy pop in his mouth. Useless, utterly useless.

I walk by his desk and stand over him, just staring blankly at him as all the other workers are staring at me as well.

"Ahm." I say, attempting to gather his focus on me but since that didn't work what I really should have done was snatch both his headphones from him and the candy pop out of his mouth, dropping both of his items to the floor rapidly. Which is exactly what I did and surely enough, that got his attention.

" M-Mr. Ziles, I am so -"

" Save it, you're fired. Pack up your desk immediately and leave by this afternoon. I don't want to see a single trace of you, understand?"

" Yes, Mr. Ziles."

Un-freakin-believable. " Back to work people or do you all want to be fired as well?" Knowing how serious I was, traffic began, making it difficult for me to walk in the direction towards the elevator.

" Alexander Ziles, you better get over here!"

" Dear old dad, how ya been." I say with the most snarkiest smile on my face. " Boy, if you don't get over here-"

" You'll what? Spank me?"

" Just get over here, son."

Soon, the traffic stops and I get to make my way to the elevators with my old man. The doors are closed and it's just me and dad in the lift together, alone, silent and right when we were about to reach our floor, he quickly pressed the stop button on the elevator and turned to me. Anger appeared all over his face, turning him into a red ugly tomato. I've known when he's like this you do not want to be anywhere near him.

" Did you know your mother left me?" " Wow, she actually did it. I have to admit I didn't think she had it in her. Shit, now I owe Lenny two-hundred bucks."

" What!"

" Come on, everyone knows you've been cheating on mom ever since you came back from that trip to Vegas." His face, not filled with anger no more but with shock, next step comes the tears.

" I loved your mother but... We've been fighting for a long while and when I went to Vegas it was easier with no one knowing me and figuring out-" '' You're a married man with over twenty successful buildings and three sons. " Fuck. I forgot I wasn't supposed to say anything.

" What." His face lights up to his average pale white skin tone and his eyebrows appear to be higher than his forehead, showing all his thin lines. Realization kicking in, he lets his jaw go slack, and says, " your mother is pregnant?"

I sigh heavily and rub my eyes. This is too much drama for one day. " I wasn't supposed to say anything but now that I have yes, you do. You knocking her up wasn't the plan on leaving your marriage but I guess your penis said otherwise. Now if you excuse me, I have a company to run." I push the same button once and the elevator starts to move, getting me to where I need to be. I step out leaving my dad with this little wonderment of his.

I have a million things on my mind but the one thing that stays with me is angel face and I'm praying to god that it's just a phase and not some lovesick crush stuck on replay in my head. It has to be.
