14 The End

Wen Tu's cottontail twitched as she hopped along the forest floor.

Her little pink noise smelt the rich scent of the wet earth as she sniffed along the ground for some food.

'Oh, food! Where are you,' she wondered as she hopped around here to there. She was searching for her next meal.

She hadn't been able to find any decent food for awhile despite bountiful foliage around her.

'All the food around doesn't taste as good anymore.' Despite the fact she wasn't much of a picky eater, she wasn't able to find anything to satisfy her. 'Ah, life's too hard on a rabbit like myself."

The gentle breeze rustled leaves above, and Wen Tu looked up to see the leaves fall from the branches like shells drifting in the foam. 'Wah! What a nice day, if only there were something good to eat.'

As if heaven's listened to her prayer, a sweet and seductive smell drifted through the air. Taking in a deep whiff of the sweet aroma, Wen Tu's tastebuds watered. 'Wah! Smells so good!'

Following the delectable scent, Wen Tu hopped along the forest floor until she reached a clearing in the woods. In the center of the clearing was a large tree, and under it sat a young lady in a green dress.

Could this be the source of that beautiful scent, she wondered.

Cautiously approaching the young woman, Wen Tu looked up to see if the girl had taken notice of her.

As if hearing her question, the girl looked down at Wen Tu and smiled. "Wen Tu," reaching down, she held her hands out towards her.

How did she know my name, Wen Tu cheerfully wondered. Sniffing the girl's hands, Wen Tu hopped on to the open palms.

The young woman lifted the bunny and rested her onto her shoulder. "Ah~ This is so nice," Wen Tu gushed as she wiggled around to find her ideal spot. She nuzzled her pink nose into the crook of the girl's neck where that heavenly scent originated. "This must be heaven, hehe!"

"Wen Tu…"

"Eh," she hummed as she continued to lay nestled in her spot.

"Wen Tu…"

"Ah?"

"Wen Tu, it's time to get up," a calm voice chuckled. "You can't stay asleep forever."

"Eh?" Groggily opening up her eyes, Wen Tu found herself lying in her Wifey's arms, face buried into Ren Dong's neck. "What time is it?"

"It's about past noon," Ren Dong responded as she shifted her upper body slightly to sit up. "It's time for you to wake up."

"Eh? But I had such a nice dream," Wen Tu whined as she continued to laze in bed.

"Really? What was it about?" Ren Dong asked as she petted Wen Tu's hair.

"In my dream, I was a bunny, and I was looking for food, and then I did! It smelt so good, but I didn't get to eat it yet."

"Hmm, I could tell," Ren Dong laughed.

"Huh, ho-" Wen Tu's face flushed red as she looked at Ren Dong's neck. Scattered on the side of her neck were many mosquito bites littered the smooth skin. Ren Dong's robes were even crinkled, where it seemed like someone had yanked her collar down to have better access. "I-I ah," Wen Tu stumbled to find words as she continued to stare at her Wifey's neck with wide watery eyes.

"It's alright," Ren Dong smiled as she smoothly slid out of bed. "You were probably hungry since you didn't eat a lot last night."

"B-but!" Wen Tu wanted to look away, but she couldn't tear her eyes apart from Ren Dong's neck. 'My gods! I did that!'

Wen Tu tried to sit up, but then a sharp pain tingled on her back. Breathing through clenched teeth, she gingerly adjusted her self.

Thanks to Ren Dong's excellent medical skills, Wen Tu's wound quickly healed, leaving three pink lines that ran down her pale back. Though it didn't hurt as much, it still stung from the sudden movement as it was still relatively fresh.

"Slow down," Ren Dong came over and sat on the edge of the bed. "No need to rush," and gently stirred a bowl of rice porridge.

Wen Tu pouted slightly at the steaming bowl of food. Since her injury, Ren Dong was insistent that she eat liquid foods with mild tastes. At first, she didn't mind, but eventually, the taste of plain rice and water quickly diluted her willingness to eat the food.

"Say ah," Ren Dong coaxed as she held the wooden spoon up to Wen Tu's pouted lips.

"Meh," Wen Tu shook her head at the charging spoon. 'It's not tasty!'

"Hah," Ren Dong set down the spoon and bowl to the side and sighed at her stubborn bunny. "You need to eat something," Ren Dong remarked as watched her bunny turn her back to her as she burrows herself back into the fluffy quilts.

'Ah, what to do.' Then an idea popped into her mind. "Wen Tu~."

"Eh."

Leaning over onto the mound, Ren Dong coaxed with a honeyed voice, "If you eat your food, you might get a treat."

A treat? Wen Tu's ear perked up at that thought. What kind of treat could Wifey be offering her?

Quickly sitting up, she grabbed the bowl of porridge and downed it all in one go. Though she cringed a bit at the flavor, she was glad it was at least over.

"Ok, so what's my treat?"

"You'll see, but first" — turning around, Ren Dong pulled out another bowl — "you must take your medicine."

As soon as Wen Tu smelt the bitter concoction, her nose wrinkled back in disgust. "No, I don't want to."

"Please, Wen Tu," Ren Dong pouted with puppy eyes. "For me?"

Wen Tu took a side glance at her Wifey's puppy eyes. "Ah, fine, if it's for my wifey," she resigned at hesitantly took the bowl of medicinal soup. Cringed at its dark color, Wen Tu closed her eyes as she bravely downed the horrid soup.

"Euh," Wen Tu groaned as her body shuddered in disgust. However, it disappears as soon as Ren Dong shoved a piece of fruit candy between her lips.

"There, that's a good girl," Ren Dong smiled in pride. "You did well," and patted Wen Tu's bowed head.

"You owe me!" Suddenly Wen Tu grabbed onto Ren Dong's wrist and flipped her around onto the bed and pushed her lips against Ren Dong's.

Though taken back, Ren Dong soon accepted the kiss and pulled Wen Tu in closer. The kiss was clumsy as their tongues roughly stroked one another. The mixture of the fruit candy and the remains of the medicine created a strange bittersweet taste.

Pulling back, Wen Tu looked down at her Wifey with a triumphant smile.

Seeing her bunny so happy, Ren Dong couldn't help but return the smile. Pulling her back in, the couple happy enjoyed each other's embrace.

However, the sweet mood was rudely interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Big Sis, it's not good for you to do any strenuous activity," a blunt voice called out as A-Kuai walked through the door.

Turning around, Wen Tu glared at her brother and sighed at the ruined mood. Sitting upright, she let Ren Dong get up from the bed.

"A-Kuai, your timing is impeccable," she remarked.

"Thanks, Big Sis, I like being on time," he replied as he set down a basket of food and herbs onto the table. "Sister-in-law, are these herbs the right ones?" Holding up the bundle of grass, he looked at Ren Dong for approval.

Walking over, Ren Dong took the bundle and looked over the herbs. "Yep, these are correct. Good work."

"Thanks," A-Kuai beamed.

Watching the pair, Wen Tu stewed in her frustration. "A-Kuai, I think you should move out."

A-Kuai rose a brow at his sister's annoyed expression. "Wow, sis, after all, I did for you, you want to kick me out now." He shook his head at his sister's unreasonable jealously that was plain for all to see. How could a silly bunny turn into such a possessive rabbit in a short period? A-Kuai could only conclude that Hu Dan's blow to her had done more than cause a scratch.

"Wah? N-no," Wen Tu quickly defended. "You're almost at the age where most boys would become independent, and I thought-"

"Yeah, right," A-Kuai cut in. "You just want to kick me out so you can do as you please."

"I-i" Wen Tu's face flushed on red as she gaped at her brother's indifferent expression.

"Now, now," Ren Dong coaxed. "No need for fighting, you two."

"Whatever," A-Kuai shrugged as he walked off to his room.

Shaking her head, Ren Dong turned back to her jealous bunny. "Wen Tu, you can't bully your brother like that."

"Hmph, it's not like I wanted to or anything," Wen Tu pouted as she bowed her head. "Ah, I'll talk to him later."

"Well," Ren Dong said slowly. "You're not entirely wrong about him moving out."

"Huh, what do you mean?"

"What do you think about getting married?"
