1 Chapter 1: Character Creation

On Hiroto's screen, he can see himself in the nude with various methods of increasing or decreasing the size of parts of his body as well as a place where he can adjust his stats.

He also has a number of stat points left that he can spend which amounts to twenty. For Kei, his screen shows a girl around the age of eleven or twelve in the nude with various things to resize the body, albeit slightly more limited than Hiroto's.

The number of stat points he has to spend also vastly outnumber Hiroto's at an astounding one hundred to spend. In the top right, it says the average for each stat is two.

For the stats, there is luck, charisma, strength, dexterity, wisdom, intelligence, and agility. There is also health, mana, and stamina.

After spending their stat points, they began with bodily adjustments. On the left of the panel are several adjustable scales, one is age, one is height, one is weight, and one is muscle.

Kei tested how high and low the bar can go and the body changed appropriately, however, stopped aging at thirteen. It can go as high as twenty-four, and as low as eight. The age range is the same for Hiroto, however, his body ages appropriately.

"What's the oldest you can look?" Hiroto asked.

"Thirteen." Kei responded blandly.

"I see. I'll set my age to around eleven, so it doesn't seem weird to travel with such a young girl." Hiroto said.

"I'll be setting mine to ten, I want some room to grow a bit." Kei said. "My height will be 4', Alicia, stop me at 4'7"." Kei said.

"Right." Alicia said.

"I don't want to look overly muscular, so I'm putting that bar low. That won't affect my energy or strength, right?" Kei asked.

"Correct, it is purely cosmetic in this screen." Alicia said. As Kei brought the bar down, the muscle turned into fat causing the body to become a bit chubby, as such, he lowered the bodyweight to forty-eight lbs, making the body thinner.

"I am light... Technically speaking, it is a healthy weight due to the lack of muscle mass." Kei said.

Hiroto put his height at the average for a western boy, 4'8", and put his weight at 90lbs and put his muscle mass up, ensuring the definition remains, however, making the muscle much thinner.

"By the way, if anyone asks, what is our relationship? Friends, siblings, family?" Kei asked.

"It would make the most sense for siblings to travel together, so let's go with that, make your body first so I can adjust it to look like we have a familial connection." Hiroto responded. Kei nodded.

Kei looked in the bottom right and saw the next button. As he was finished with this portion, he clicked it. From this area, he was able to more finely adjust his new body features.

He made his hair white and his eyes red. Her skin is pale and her facial features are rounded. Kei made his 'character' to be as cute as possible, giving her big eyes and round features is just part of that.

Her hair is long and straight, going down to her butt. After finishing how the body looks, he clicked finished and turned into the body, his clothes shrinking to fit it.

"Albino?" Hiroto asked. Kei nodded.

"Yes." He said with a cute, feminine voice. (And this is when author-san began to question his choices. Is it a he or she? He screams, for he does not know.) "I sound adorable!" Kei said as a glimmer of excited energy filled her(?) eyes. (It is she/her from now on...)

"You seem... Overly excited by this..." Hiroto said.

"Anyone would be when they are adorable. I mean, look at hi-... Her... I meant her..." Alicia said as she pondered how to refer to Kei. Hiroto sighed.

"Alright, blonde hair, green eyes, semi-round features. and somewhat pale skin." Hiroto said as his body transformed to be younger and as he detailed. His hair is longer than it was, but still rather short, and his eyes are a bit bigger than they were before.

"Alright, now abilities, items, etc. You can get almost literally anything." Alicia said.

"First and foremost, how many?" Kei asked.

"Ten for Kei, three for Hiroto. The difference in amount is due to the amount of dignity Kei gave to become a girl." Alicia explained.

"I am certain there was no dignity given up." Hiroto said.

"Correct, so the actual reason is to help with my quest." Kei said.

"You agreed way too quick..." Hiroto said. "Anyway, abilities, items, and whatnot... What to choose..." Hiroto thought aloud.

"My first one is to increase my mana pool by an incredible amount." Kei said.

Mana: 3 -> Mana: 1000000000. "Done, nine remain." Alicia said.

'That was fast...' Hiroto thought.

"New clothes, not just for me, but for him as well. Something to fit the era, but also functional. The outfits will have satchels with some supplies, I would like them to be bigger on the inside. Also, ensure the outfits are comfortable, won't stain, or get dirty." Kei said.

"That will take three, one for your outfit, one for his, and one for both the bags." Alicia explained.

"Okay." Kei responded blandly.

"Six remain..." Alicia said.

"I want the bags to be enchanted so we can teleport them to us if we lose them, furthermore, only we should be able to access them unless someone has our permission." Kei said.

"Five." Alicia responded. Kei nodded as he went into thought about what he should get.

"Magic talent. Insane levels." Kei said. Alicia nodded.

"I was certainly waiting for one of you two to say that. Of course, wouldn't be a fantasy world without it. Granted, four left." Alicia said.

"I want to be able to read, speak, and understand every language in this new world, fluently." Hiroto said.

"Same here." Kei said.

"Alright, two and three." Alicia said, pointing to the person who the number corresponds to when she says their number.

"A katana enchanted to never lose its edge, never break, etcetera, of course, it will come with a sheath as well. Also, it should be sized to my body and grow with my body." Kei said.

"Smart, smart." Alicia nodded as she granted the request. "Two left."

"Like him, I will request a large quantity of mana, seems like a useful resource to have available." Hiroto said. Alicia nodded.

"Very well, one left." She said.

"Hey..." Kei said as his expression became grim.

"Yeah...?" Hiroto asked with worry.

"Will I get periods?" Kei asked.

"Y-yes... Yes, you will..." Alicia said.

"I'm using one of my 'requests' to make sure I never get one." Kei said.

"Do you know the reason why they happen?" Alicia asked. Kei nodded.

"Instead of blood, turn the excess lining into mana or something. In fact, make this part of an ability that turns excrement and other such things into mana as well. Feces, urine, period blood, what else?" Kei thought.

"I see... Wait, does that mean that you actually want to use it?" Alicia asked. After a few moments of thinking, Kei responded.

"No clue." She said. "Honestly, there is so much I haven't thought about yet, that I'd rather not limit my options too much." Kei said.

"So, what are you guys talking about?" Hiroto asked.

"... Girl things..." Alicia said.

"He literally became a girl less than five minutes ago." Hiroto said. Kei sighed.

"So, every month or so, the uterus lining thickens to prepare for a fertilized egg if the woman does not get pregnant, the thickened lining becomes thinner, the excess thickness is expelled through the vagina as blood." Kei explained.

"Right, and why do you know this?" Hiroto asked.

"Wikipedia." Kei responded blandly.

"Y'know, I now understand there was no reason to ask that and it should have been obvious..." Hiroto said. "So, essentially, she was wondering if you ever plan on having a child, right?" Hiroto asked. Kei nodded.

"So, sound like a good use, Alicia-sama?" Kei asked.

"Yep! Also, no need for the 'sama' there, I may be a goddess, but you are doing a very important favor for me." Alicia said.

"Wait... Can I change that to just not needing to do bodily care such as cleaning, eating, excreting, etc?" Kei asked.

"Hmmm... I don't see why not, but why does this sound familiar?" Alicia asked. "Anyway, you have one left." Alicia said.

"I think I'm going to take a page out of a manga I read once..." Hiroto said as he thought about how to phrase what he was about to ask for. "I basically want to be able to use mana to create potions and the bottles that they are in. They have a base bottle, but I can also adjust the shape and material of the bottle. I can adjust the properties of the potions I make, and I can make any kind of potion so long as I have the mana." Hiroto said.

"That does make quite a bit of sense... Yeah, pretty good ability. That is your last one." Alicia said approvingly as she nodded repeatedly.

"For my last request, I want to have a wealth of information, in particular, referring to technology and magic. If you want to make it some kind of system where I unlock knowledge, that is fine by me." Kei said.

"Alright, I can see why. Does this include modern knowledge of technology?" Alicia asked as she thought a bit deeper about the ability.

"Past modern if possible, but yes." Kei responded.

"Alright, and that's the last of it. Have fun in this new world!" Alicia said happily as Kei and Hiroto's vision faded. After a few moments, their vision returned and they were in a forest next to a path.

"So, should I call you onii-chan from now on?" Kei asked jokingly.

"I ask that you refrain from that..." Hiroto said.

"Anyway, we should actually come up with a shared surname... We didn't do that. Since our names also sound foreign, perhaps we should change those as well?" Kei recommended.

"Probably a good idea. Your name may be unisex, but I definitely think of it as more masculine... We should probably go for something western, right?" Hiroto asked. Kei nodded.

"I could totally just take a name similar to the goddess's just to up play my successes." Kei said with a chuckle.

"That... Actually may not be a bad idea... Nevertheless, I will call myself Braydon from now on." Hiroto, now Braydon, said.

"I'll go with Alice, something similar, but not quite the same as Alicia. Though technically speaking, they come from the same root name..." Kei, now Alice said.

"And as for a surname, let's go with Bannerman." Braydon said.

"So, I'll be Alice Bannerman I guess." Alice said. (Technically said Bannerman Alice, because, in Japanese, they say it backward.)

"Yep, now we just have to get used to calling each other these names." Braydon said as he started to observe his surroundings. While Braydon was focused on other tasks, Alice looked at her clothes.

Her shoes are brown boots that go about halfway up her lower leg. She has a fairly long dress that has a dull green as its primary color and an off-white creme color for the secondary colors. The sleeves of the dress go about halfway down her arms. On her right side is her satchel.

Over the dress is a dull light green jacket with buttons. After observing her own clothes, she looked at Braydon's. Braydon is wearing dark brown pants with light brown boots.

His shirt is somewhat thick and dull light blue in coloration. He also has an unbuttoned coat that goes down to the top of his calf's, the coat is a dark brown color. His katana is on the left side of his hip and on the right side is his satchel. After a few moments, Braydon looked at Alice.

"I think there is a town in this direction." Braydon said as he pointed down the road to the east. Alice nodded.

"Let's go then." Alice said as she began walking in the direction that Braydon pointed.
