The Streets Is My Home

While everyone is sleeping, Layla sneaks out of the house because she has a job to do. When she gets to the underground hideout, Max, Layla's boss assigns her a job, to rob a rich man's house.

" I've been informed that this man is in possession of millions of dollars in his house so tonight's our chance" Max gives some insight on the task at hand.

Alexander ( Layla's best friend), Layla and two other members of the group sneak into the rich man's house and manage to rob it as they get away with the millions of dollars. When they get back to the tunnel,Max shares the money among his six members equally.

At 05 in the morning, Jade ( Layla's paternal cousin) wakes up to get ready for work when she noticed that Layla is not on her bed,

" Oh no,now where could this girl be? Did she perhaps sneak out of the house? Let me look she might just be in the house" Jade goes to the bathroom but there is no sign of Layla. She checks Nicole's bedroom but she isn't there as well. She goes around the house until she finds Layla sleeping on the living room couch and gives a sigh of relief because she thought her cousin had sneaked out of the house and didn't come back early which would have gotten her into trouble with grandma Coco. At 06:00 hrs, Coco and aunt Zoe( Jade's mom) prepare breakfast for everyone as they wait at the table.

" Listen Layla will you come and have breakfast with us so you can give Nicole a ride to school or she'll be late" Grandma Stella shouts at the top of her voice.

Layla comes to the table and has breakfast with the family. As everyone else is busy chatting over breakfast and not paying attention, Jade in a low voice asks he Layla where she was last night. Layla denies ever going out of the house. Jade tries to trap Layla by asking her why she slept on the couch when they both went to bed together.

" I woke up to watch a movie and I dozed off genius...will you let me have my breakfast now that I've answered your question?" Layla outsmarts her cousin by giving a fake excuse.

When they're all done having breakfast. Layla asks Nicole to get her bag while she prepares her motorcycle. Nicole hugs aunt Zoe and tells her she doesn't have to go for class because all the teachers are on strike. Everyone else believes her but Layla thinks otherwise. She tells the family that she just saw one of Nicole's classmates going for class. Jade calmly and politely asks Nicole why she doesn't want to go to school and once again Nicole gives her reason,

" It's nothing Jade really am just feeling lazy"

Layla is able to tell that Nicole is lying so she becomes furious,

" Look girl stop making jokes and tell me why you don't want to go to school or else I'll hit you!" Layla grabs Nicole's hand and threatens to hit her if she doesn't tell the truth.

Everyone stops Layla from hitting innocent Nicole but she means business. Seeing the anger and seriousness in her cousins eyes,Nicole tells the truth,

" I'll tell you everything Layla but please don't hit me... there's this guy in my class whose way older than he should be for highschool ,he bullies me a lot and the teacher doesn't even do anything because he comes from a rich family "

Layla tells Nicole she will be going to meet the boy. Coco warns Layla about causing trouble or hitting the boy. Layla smiles while showing her teeth and promising her grandma she won't cause trouble this makes Jade wonder if her cousin is telling the truth. Layla asks Jade to escort grandma Stella, aunt Zoe and Coco while she handles Nicole's school business. When they get to the school, Nicole sees the bully standing in the school grounds and shows Layla. At this moment, Layla tries her very best to control her temper. She takes Nicole by the hand as they walk to the school grounds.

" Excuse me Mr" Layla taps the guy on the shoulder.

The boy turns around and as Nicole explained,he looks like someone in his 20s. He answers Layla rudely but she lets it slide. She talks to him politely by asking him to leave Nicole alone and to stop bullying her,

" I am Nicole's cousin and I came here because she told me about you which is why I took it upon myself to give you a fair warning because next time, there won't be any"

Layla takes Nicole's hand to leave but the bully provokes her by saying some foolish words,

" Wow Nicole! You didn't tell me you had such a hot and beautiful cousin ah?"

This pushes Layla to the edge and she throws a punch in the guys jawline such that he falls to the ground. The bully gets up in an attempt to hit Layla back but she ducks and gives him another hit in the ribs and at this point he can barely stand straight. All the kids in the school grounds start to cheer for Layla as she fights the boy while Nicole stands there feeling scared. Layla takes the boy's arm and twists it all the way to his back,

" I thought I made it clear that you should not mess with me or my sister now I'll show you" Layla gives the bully a black eye from a punch and a fallen tooth,a busted lip and of course broken nose.

Once the guy falls to the ground, Nicole decides to intervene by holding her cousin back,

" It's enough Layla! Let him be am sure he has had enough!"

Layla stops hitting the bully,warns him for the last time,asks Nicole to take care, picks up her jacket and rides off on her bike. During class, Nicole's desk mate praises Layla for her courage but Nicole is still feeling scared. Soon, the principal walks in and asks Nicole to follow her to the principals office.
